Camp of the Woods is a fantastic destination for families with kids and teens. Even though we experienced some rainy weather, there was still plenty to enjoy. From the indoor rock wall and weight room to the heated pool, swimming, pickleball, basketball, and volleyball—there was never a dull moment. The accommodations were well-suited for families of all sizes, and the beachfront properties added a special touch. The staff was incredibly accommodating and always willing to meet our needs with a smile, which made our stay even more enjoyable. While it’s quite a journey from Long Island, the wide variety of activities and warm hospitality made the distance well worth it. We had a great time and absolutely loved it!

What a wonderful place! Our accommodations were comfortable, setting was beautiful, events and activities abounding, and amazing and friendly staff. We certainly plan to return!

Our family has been coming to camp of the woods on and off for 7 years. When we started, our kids were toddlers and now they are pre-teens and teenager’s. There is something for every age. I personally love the music program and the talented singers and the full orchestra and performances in the evenings. And they have phenomenal chapel speakers each week, pastors and authors that share wisdom from the Bible. The Sonju gymnasium is addicting for our three boys. They spend countless hours playing sports with their friends. And of course the most popular thing at COTW is the pickleball competitions!!!! I highly recommend for families wanting to spend quality time together!

The environment is beautiful, not just the lake and mountains, but the staff's attitude as well! Everyone was so friendly and helpful! I really enjoyed the beach and the teen program. Camp of the Woods is a great Christian retreat for the whole family!

Second year in a row my troops have come for the Girl Scout weekend, average around 20 girls, and we all absolutely love it! Camp staff is great, lots of different activities to choose from so that each girl feels like they've got something for them, fun variety of cabins to suit your needs.. We also have two Celiac in our group, and the chefs have always been accommodating and helpful, making sure that they have plenty of foods to choose from. Highly recommend Frost Valley!

Have gone here for almost 15 years and have been physically and spiritual renewed every time. Great teachers, great food and great entertainment is all included in the reasonable pricing, as is the beautiful Adirondack setting. I highly recommend!

We spent a week at Camp of the Woods and it was awesome. The programming here is well done and geared for families. The excursions we took were also very good. The speakers were excellent. The staff here do a great job considering they're all college kids. The grounds are well kept, the beach is clean, and the food is the best I've had for a camp Buffet. I've only been to a few other Christian camps and this one is by far the best. The location is beautiful and the accommodations are nice as well.

I was there for a Christian Retreat. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful , peaceful, and breathtaking. My bed wasn't that comfortable; it was too hard, I managed. I'd love to visit in the summer. Overall, great place to visit.

Yelp
too costly for what you get. use to be good, but went south after it fired former director.

Yelp
This is my favorite time of the year: the week at camp. My dad has spoke here every summer since I was born, so I have grown up coming here and loving it my whole life. When people ask me to explain why I love it so much I hate trying to explain it bc it's just that, beyond words. The music, is amazing. The food, so good (I gain weight every-time I come, there is an abundance of amazing food). This is an amazing place to gain lifelong friends, memories, and most importantly it's a great place to gain the most important thing, and inheritance in heaven. The word of God is shared here in so many ways. The hymn sings, the chapel service, kids klub, and teen stuff. Every day there is a great chapel service filled with wonderful music, gospel filled teachings and prayer. COTW is the thing my whole family looks forward to the entire summer. The staff is great and friendly, and the people who lead camp love God so much. I also must mention the weather too. I'm a sucker for fall and cool weather, and while it's not freezing up here, the weather is so amazing, never too hot, and I'm able to wear sweatshirts (my love language) from hikes to the lake to amazing cinnamon buns every morning and the Sonju center, if your looking for the best summer retreat to get away, have fun and experience Gods word, this is just the place!!

Yelp
Very good view of pleasant lake and noice lodging. Food isn't bad. It's really cool to walk on the beach.

Yelp
I have pretty much been going there for my whole life and I have endless great things to say about this place. My fondest summer memories were formed at COTW and now I even made some winter memories here. It is a family camp and there are activities for every age group. They have speakers come in a give great messages and there is child care as well. They have mini-golf, tennis, canoes, sailboats, a large indoor gym, volleyball, and a long stretch of lakefront beach.

Yelp
I've been to COTW twice now for a work conference in November. The housing I was placed in feels very clean and new. Our room was spacious with a king bed and bunk bed, copious amounts of hanging space, and private bathroom. The heat was cranked up so high we had to sleep with the fan on...not sure that's really something to complain about, though! I think we were in the nicest of the housing options, so you may want to scope out your specific accommodation possibilities before deciding. I have been to a good number of these places, and COTW has some of the best dining. There is always a solid salad bar and I am consistently impressed with the desserts (taking into account that it's camp food, of course). It looks like there is a ton to do outdoors (mini golf, tennis, lake), which unfortunately can't be enjoyed in November. The view of the lake is beautiful, though! One improvement I would love to see them make is adding some clearly marked hiking trails. I assume their property has space for them, and if they already exist they weren't advertised in a way I could find out about them! I toggled between three and four stars, so take this rating as a high three!

Yelp
We had our regional convention at "camp of the woods", it's a beautiful campus and superb facilities! The food is tremendous and the accommodations are excellent! I will come back anytime that I can and would highly recommend this camp and staff!

Yelp
Our favorite place on earth. Beautiful grounds, wonderful speakers, ideal lake for all types of water recreation.

Yelp
This is a great family camp. I've gone a few years in a row now and the food is delicious, the rooms clean and neat and the staff kind and courteous. Some people say nonsense about it "losing its mission". Because of some updates to old buildings? I think not. Christ is still king here and the new updates only seek to bring more people to him. The pursuit of excellence is not contrary to the work of the gospel. Let the newer generations appreciate the work that has been done. Keep up the good work Camp of the Woods! Four stars because it is a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.

Yelp
They removed the iconic tree by the Wigwam, we had family pictures next to this tree for more than 20 years. You seriously couldn't have saved it? They have made so many changes recently to camp that it no longer resembles the place that I have such amazing memories as a child

Yelp
Was once a special place, with a special mission. No more. Was never meant to be about food, or facilities, or excellent accommodations.

Yelp
Great place for families and if you are a person of faith; however, prices are unreal for the accommodations. You are paying for all of the amenities and programs, but when you pay $2k for a week in a cabin, you expect something a bit nicer than a motel 6. Our kids love it here, which makes for a great family vacation and that's priceless.

Yelp
I go here every year for 3 nights for a work conference. I love the getting away cabin feel you get. You are defiantly away from the city rush rush feeling, and feel like you can just take a deep breath and relax. They have a sports complex I would give 5 stars to if I was just rating that, it is world class. There's a few basketball courts that look similar to any big college gyms, upstairs there is an arcade with skeet ball and air hockey. Finally the place has an indoor rock gym, it is an amazing place! The reason this place gets a 3 star rating is the lodging although livable by far has a Econolodge feel at least in the main lodge some of the newer buildings look like they have nicer newer places. The food is upper class camp Buffett style food. The employees are great very friendly and helpful. Over all a great place to get away and relax. I'd just love to see the main rooms updated.

Yelp
It is very pricey for what you get. They also tore down one of the original building by the lake and the famous "tree" where everyone has so many memories. They are putting profits before everything else now. It has changed.

Yelp
Love Camp of The Woods - a wonderful place for a family vacation where everyone can grow in their love of the Lord and each other! We go each year with family friends and always look forward to going back. It's definitely on the pricey side but we have found it worth it since we all look forward to our time away, learning, growing and relaxing together!

Yelp
Our family has a long history of summer highlights at camp of the woods. There is so very much to do during the summer that you and any children will NOT be bored. The music and drama productions are second to none and every day begins with amazing worship! The speakers are always a huge highlight and the accommodations are flexible in style and price. COTW is seeking to constantly upgrade without removing what is affordable. They also honor ministry families with discounts the last two weeks of camp. Some have said it is costly, and it can be, but I would argue that with all the outings, food, lakeside use, conferences, music, and grounds use you are getting a fabulous vacation at a decent cost. Also, they truly seek to serve and there is always help nearby if you have questions. One thing that has been a huge blessing for our families is the golf cart "ministry" and I call it that because that is literally what it is. With mountainous terrain it can be a bit much for some of the elderly to enjoy the entire premesis of camp, so with a simple phone call there will be a complimentary golf cart within 10 minutes to get you where you need to go... they even take on eager grand kids who want the "ride." Highly recommend this beautiful camp as a place of retreat, refreshment, and soul satisfaction!

Yelp
If you're a Christian family, there is NO better place to be in the world! I think of it as a Christian Club Med for families. I'm a single mom who has taken my son for the past 5 years and it's the highlight of our year every year. No cooking, cleaning, stress for an entire week while enjoying amazing scenery, discussions, community and entertainment for all ages-- it doesn't get better than this. The music staff is on par with off-Broadway productions and they offer something almost every night. If you're not careful NOT to do all of the fun activities, you could wind up more tired then when you showed up. Mini golf, tennis, volleyball, boating, rock climbing, play ground, basketball, table tennis, hiking, challenge course, zip line, Carnival -- and that's just inside the camp! The daily teaching series is first-rate and relevant. You are fed spiritually, physically, emotionally and intellectually all week. It's not inexpensive, but considering EVERYTHING that's included, it's a bargain.
