Thoroughly enjoyed my 6 day stay at camp ripan. The entire hotel frok the reception staff, the cabins and rooms, the location and also the resteraunt and spa were a few notches above excellent. The whole place didnt exactly scream luxury but it was the most comfortable and relaxing stay I have had in a long while. Everything from the location to the amenities were on point. The skiing slopes were a few minutes drive away as was the new town centre. The cabins were really comfortable and the whole environment was very family friendly. We didnt book any excursions through camp ripan itself but arranged them through other companies who were more than willing to collect and drop off to the hotel. The spa was also a decent experience. The spot is also apparently an excellent location to catch the aurora borealis - although the cloudy weather didnt allow us To tick that box. The onsite resteraunt was also excellent across all 3 services breakfast lunch and dinner. Some of the best arctic char and cod dishes I have ever had and the brown butter ice cream dessert - chefs kiss amazing. You cant go wrong with camp ripan.

Loved our 4 nights at Camp Ripan in December. We stayed in a cabin. Comfy bed, warm room, and amenities like wine glasses, wine opener, and mini fridge. We had the tasting menu for dinner at the lodge one night - it was excellent! Breakfasts at the lodge we're good too. And good cocktails! We did a couple of excursions from the lodge - excellent experiences. Bonus was a great showing of the Northern Lights one night. Would stay there again.

Lovely stay at Camp Ripan with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Room is spacious and clean. Breakfast was provided and aurora spa was a perfect place to relax after a day out in the cold. We were lucky to catch the Northern Lights right outside, which made the experience even more special.

I just had my lunch at Ripan Kitchen with my wife. We tried 3 main course of 4 and god, it was delicious. Together with the service of Shira, Tomas and team, it couldn’t be better. The smile and friendliness they carry elevated the entire experience altogether.

Spent a magical 4 nights at Camp Ripan in late October. Was an absolutely perfect romantic get away and I would return in a heartbeat and enthusiastically recommend the location to friends and family. The rooms were clean, quiet, well appointed, and had a comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and helpful (appreciated, sheepishly, that everyone spoke English) and the breakfast was fresh and delicious with an excellent variety of foods. Loved that we were able to park right in front of our cabin and were close to a small trail system where we could play in the snow. The laundry facility and gym were also a perfect bonus.

Camp Ripan is a fantastic base for a winter trip to Kiruna. We stayed for a few days and had an amazing time. Super cozy cabins, great food, and the spa is a real highlight. The hot tub and cold plunge were perfect after being out in the snow all day. It’s also really convenient for tours; we did a northern lights outing and went dog sledding, both unforgettable. The whole place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe and makes it easy to enjoy everything Kiruna has to offer in winter. Highly recommended.

We (family) visited in December 2025 and would love to recommend and return to this Hotel / Camp. Everything worked really well - the room, breakfast, meals, location. Most of the activities in Kiruna have a pick up option from this hotel, so you save on taxi costs. And their Aurora Spa is the highlight! We managed to view the Northern Lights while we were in the outdoor pool - almost like a dream come true.

Google
A very good hotel convenient, with breakfast provided, friendly staff, and clean rooms. We were also able to see the Northern Lights without any special planning. One important piece of advice: if you are driving, please skip Abisko, especially Abisko Turistsation STF

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay at Camp Ripan. They had so many things to do, everyone was nice, I had no complaints. So why did I give this only 4 stars? This is a wonderful camp environment and the lodging is a bit reflective of that. It is a basic style, comfortable and clean, completely functional - but not a 5 star hotel. Now on to all the other reasons to visit Camp Ripan. The Aurora Spa was perfect after a day in the cold. You will need an appointment and will have 2 hours to visit. That allows for them to control the crowd size and makes for a very relaxing visit. I enjoyed all the hot areas: inside & outside hot pools, steam room, mineral sauna and regular sauna. I didn't get close to the cold plunge pool or the ice bucket challenge. I loved the final touch of the self administered spa treatment: a chocolate facial, a hot water foot bath and the final body scrub that left my skin so soft. All ingredients were made from environmentally friendly ingredients. The restaurant is considered fine dining for dinners here in Kiruna and my meals for breakfast and dinner were so delicious. To have such great meal within walking distance was such a treat. The buffet breakfast was very well stocked with fresh foods and there were many options on the dinner menu with recommendations of wine pairings. Sami lavvu: if you have a group of people, you can request a special Sami dining experience with fresh reindeer meat, made in a similar way to the Sami people in lavvu tent on property. I didn't know about this option so I have no input other than to inform that this experience is available. Skiing and snowshoeing is within sight of Camp Ripan. They even have ski lockers at each cabin. The ski course is very small, but would be such a fun place for families. They also partner with lots of tour operators in the area if you want to book through the hotel for convenience. This was a very fun and active place, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Yelp
*(For the restaurant only)* We all enjoyed our meals. The bartender was helpful with recommendations regarding local beers. The rest of the service was fairly friendly but not the most attentive - they may have been under-staffed the evening we were there. The menu did not mention all of the dessert options. Ambience was quiet, spare swedish style: clean lines, mostly wood but with enough textile to soften the sounds from conversations and other ambient noise. Nice views to the outside through walls of glass. The food was delicious: locally sourced, it seemed, with medium/moderate-sized portions, good seasoning and enough options that accommodated all of our party's varied preferences and restrictions. Would go again.

Yelp
Had an amazing experience and stay here! We visited Kiruna all the way from America because we wanted to see the northern lights and considered renting an apartment but were really happy to come across this hotel. We did a weekend package that included the cabin, buffet style breakfast, and 2 course entree dinner for the days we were there. This also included a visit to Aurora Spa which is all located there. Cabin: We booked the largest one because the rooms looked rather small. The cabin was actually smaller than I thought it would be but it was cozy and warm and the beds were really comfortable. There was also a kitchen so if we wanted to make our own food we could have. Restaurant: The food at the restaurant was amazing! Before we got to the hotel we booked all our dinner reservations ahead of time. The staff knew when to expect us and everything was ready by the time we got there. I tried a lot of things for the first time including reindeer and moose which was actually really great. The portion and presentation of the food was excellent and there was nothing I tried there that I didn't enjoy. It was all unique in the best way. My favorite mea was the roast beef and polenta! The breakfast buffet was also really good with many different options. Service: The service we received at the hotel was awesome from the front desk to the food staff. We booked our excursions separately from the hotel because it was a little more pricey to book through them. We were able to find the companies they used online. The only thing we booked through the hotel was a ski trip to the national park. There was some miscommunication where the email said one time and we received confirmation from reception for a different time. We ended up missing that and they were unable to refund us but they did let us use ski equipment (they have slopes right next to the resort) without charge and removed the charges for the extra food we ordered the previous days. Aurora Spa: The spa was super cute and the staff there was attentive. They provided us with the products and order to use everything. I love that everything here was sustainable and the products were made from local material. I actually wish I had more time to purchase the products. It would also be great if you could purchase them online because I really enjoyed the mud/coffee mask. After leaving I felt extremely relaxed.

Yelp
There were several very nice things about this place that we loved, the biggest one? They didn't lie, the Aurora borealis made a beautiful appearance the night we stayed there. When we were looking for hotels in Kiruna we wanted something not far from the airport and that would be an easy transfer to the Ice Hotel for our second's night stay. This place fit the requirements perfectly. It was an easy bus ride from the Kiruna airport which dropped us at the end of the road in front of the hotel. It was a quick walk with our packs and we were greeted by a outdoor campfire with reindeer skins set out for people to huddle around. The lobby is simple and centered around a shop of lots of items available for purchase of course..then obviously there is the excursion center with lots of experiences you can pay for. Then you finally get up to the reception center. We couldn't check in till later in the day so we just had to store our luggage and entertain ourselves. We were hoping to grab a snack at the restaurant on the left but they had very limited hours and were not open when we arrived. Our room was very nice with a large bed and bathroom. We also had a tea and coffee station. Our bedroom windows looked out into a nice natural view with trees and snow covered hills and mountains. One of the things we enjoyed the most was the spa. The Aurora spa is right by the main building and costs an additional 30 usd a person to spend a couple hours there. When you check in they give you robes and slippers and even had bathing suits for us to rent. There are several steam and sauna rooms. The main pool left something to be desired, but the outdoor hot tub was great and there were even beanies to keep our ears warm. The restaurant was very high end but we ended up not being super impressed with our meals. Our server seemed to have some issues with my request to order gluten free due to my allergy, but after checking with the kitchen it seemed okay. They brought out gf bread which was nice and I went for the arctic char which was cooked nicely but i didn't love the sauce and accompaniments. The husband had the tenderloin he really liked and also went for the cloudberry mire which he thought was good. I ended up getting sick part way through the meal from gluten contamination so I didn't finish my meal or participate in dessert. Overall this place has a lot of great aspects to it. A restaurant serving gourmet Nordic food, a spa where you can enjoy winter in the warmth, and a perfect view if you get lucky enough to see the northern lights.

Yelp
I can really only review the common areas and restaurant/bar, but it's worth a visit to have a nice meal especially for dinner. We had a lovely Christmas Eve traditional Swedish smorgasbord dinner at Camp Ripan. It was not cheap (~$200 or a little under 1300 sek total which included some beer) but it was very romantic with tall candles on every table and dim lighting, and frankly there were not a lot of options if you really wanted a festive and romantic option on Xmas Eve. The food variety was plentiful and the quality quite good as well. Our view was enchanting because of the pristine snow-covered landscape immediately beyond the glass of the floor to ceiling windows. The highlight (other than the meatballs, pickled fish, potatoes au gratin, lingonberry and vanilla custard) was certainly when Santa arrived in his rustic reindeer pelt suit and typical red hat and came inside to distribute wrapped gifts to the children in attendance. We got a pic with Santa ourselves, just in case you don't believe me. I even got to meet his reindeer. I think it was Blitzen. The lobby is tastefully appointed with local artworks and comfortable places to wait, as well as a wood burning fireplace to keep you nice and toasty, and a tea station to wet your whistle. The lodge appeared to have little sleds that you could borrow for free and use on the snowy hills nearby. The staff were friendly and called me a reasonably priced taxi. The tours offered were a good 300+ sek more than those that I could arrange through our own lodge (Mattarahkka), so I skipped that. The lodge offers a Christmas program with various activities (packaged with hotel rate included or a la carte) as well as New Years programs and other seasonal special offerings. They responded pretty quickly to email although I would love to see a more interactive online booking system for tours/excursions/activities available on their website. It would make travel planning much easier for non-Europeans.

Yelp
Comfortable accommodations in the simple, modern Swedish style. Bathrooms are tiny, but beds are cozy and cabins are warm. It's a tight fit to sleep 4, bit possible. We loved the Aurora Borealis viewing area and got great photos. The spa was one of our favorite activities in Kiruna. I highly recommend purchasing the ritual spa experience. Restaurant food and service was high quality, bar had great drinks, facilities were in excellent shape. I arrived expecting the bare minimum and was overly pleased with how wrong I was.

Yelp
Delicious reindeer, potatoes, and salad fixed lunch. 100 SEK/person; not a bad deal at all. Great coffee too and very nice waitstaff. Ask for your bill at the register. Cute gift shop in the hotel with Sami crafts (moccasins, gloves, hats, jewelry) with prices similar to stores in town. Cool playground outside. We didn't stay here but it seemed like a nice place. Glad we stopped in to eat before heading to Abisko.

Yelp
This is for the restaurant, not the lodging or any of the other facilities. The place breaths high end with a very nice atmosphere. I had the main course of the night, Suovas and mashed potatoes, pretty much THE dish to have when you visit northern Sweden (smoked reindeer meat) This, however, is a runny, tasteless but salty mess which surprises me since I've heard only good about the place. You will have at least twice the Suovas-experience for less than half the price at any of the fast food joints in town. The selection of beers is also sub par given the beer renaissance we're experiencing at the moment

Yelp
Nice cabin setting. Staff are friendly and breakfast is good. An overall better than average place.
