Camp Wawona

It was the most perfect place in all creation when I first went to camp there in 1938 and continued being so for all ten years. It still is. Oh, the memories! "Let us sing a song of our summer camp 'Nieth the Old Wawona Dome."

If you're looking for a great place to go for a summer vacation, look no further. This is it! This amazing place has a special place in my heart. I went here as a camper for many summers and recently had the privilege of working at Camp Wawona this past summer of 2018. It was a dream. Camp Wawona is such a beautiful place and a great place to get away and spend time with friends, family and God.

Camp Wawona is such an incredible place. During the summer months they have an amazing summer camp program - great staff that take good care of the kids and put on an awesome program with activity opportunities that you can't find anywhere else. The rest of the year they run a outdoor school program that is just as good and host different groups. If your looking for a place for your group function look no further than this place. It's so quiet and peaceful and the staff work hard to make sure you have what you need. We have loved all of our experiences with this place!

I love and miss this place dearly. I used to go there for Cowboy Camp every summer when I was younger. Many many good memories and friends made here. This place is special to me.

Spirit filled environment. I cried the first time I went to Camp Wawona. I did not want to leave. It is simply HEAVENLY 💕🙏🏾💕

This place brings back so many memories and I hope that whoever goes as a camper or as a visitor feels the excitement of this place.

Our parents started taking us in the fifties, I took my family in the seventies, my kids took their family in early 2000s. It’s a place for the ages.

I didn't go to camp. I just went to the camp grounds for a photo op. So this is not for the camp. This is for the ambiance and location of the camp. When you first come onto the camp, they have a cute fake town. There is a sign with a Sheriff on it and some fake stores (one real store but was closed). They had fake train tracks and just cute playtown fun. Great for photos. It is also near a hiking trail. This is just a great place for photos :)

It is a truly well planned camp which my grandkids have attended for two years together. The counselor for our grandsons in Junior Camp was the same young man as last year well trained, truly talented,compassionate, very responsible. Our grandsons really liked him very much! This year: the only family disappointment was the lack of daily pictures which was promised like last year. Despite the above concerns, the camp is located in a beautiful environment; well planned and supervised; safe and fun.

Super big fan I spent a week there receiving staff training for a summer program for teenagers and it was magical. The other staff were friendly... No, super friendly. I met more people in a week than in the past year practically. The food? Delicious and plenty of it. The rooms are very awesome. They have these sweet A frame houses and they're just heaps of fun. Go there! It's gnarly!

As a kid, ages 9 - 14, I went to camp there for one week 6 times between 1962 and 1967. It was the highlight of each year!! It looked a lot different then! We stayed in rustic wood cabins with bunk beds for about 8 kids, plus a twin bed for the counselor. I remember learning kayaking on the creek & I took swimming lessons each year at the pool. And I went horseback riding too! I remember the huge round sink in the bathroom that we operated with our feet! So cool! I went on hikes & took craft classes. I remember I made a working lamp out of a chunk of driftwood! Every day there were stories, singing, games & contests with prizes! That week always went by, way too fast!

Just an awesome place. I always see myself coming back to Camp Wawona. Excellent staff that fill the camp with love.

This is the second year our family has gone to the "Family Camp" at Camp Wawona. At the end of the normal kids summer camp program they open up the camp for a week so families can come and enjoy all the programs that the summer camp offers.... Having sent my kids to other camps and being a former camp counselor myself, Camp Wawona is the best staffed camp I have ever seen. The staff are CPR certified and are very passionate and knowledgeable about their various areas of expertise, and they couldn't have treated us better. This is a Christian based camp, and you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer group of staff members any where.... Any one of them would be welcome in our home any time... Camp Wawona is located in the heart of Yosemite which makes this one of the most beautiful settings for a camp any where on the west coast. With access to the valley floor and Half Dome the activities that Camp Wawona offers to it's campers are incredible. I would recommend this camp to anyone...
