This came recommended to us by a gentleman that hosted us in a nearby bed and breakfast. This was the perfect recommendation. It was a short hike from where we parked to the impressive waterfall. There were times where the ground was incredibly muddy so have proper shoes ready. There was also a time or two when the trail wasn't obvious and maybe there could have been better indicators. I mention these things to draw caution. Truly no complaints here.

This is a nice area to go hiking, but the center piece of the park is the waterfalls. The terrain is not too tough, although some people could have a problem with the steepness of it. The area is in the heart of nature. It is a spectacular place to go to spend some time outdoors. There are lots of great things to look at while here in the woods. There were some interesting rock formations. On the way to the park, very close by, we saw an oriole. That is not something I have seen in central Connecticut, so that was pretty cool/different. We will definitely return here in the future at some point in time.

A relatively short hike takes you to a pretty impressive waterfall. When I arrived there was a small parking lot. There should be a sign letting visitors know the trail entrance is to the left of the lot. Once I figured that out, I walked into the woods over a muddy trail. The trial is full of tree roots, rocks, and hills. I was glad I wore my hikers today. If you decide to do any climbing around the falls just be aware the rocks are slippery. A misstep could get you in trouble. You’ll get some beautiful pictures here though.

One of my favorites. This waterfall was a great surprise to me. I’m in love with this place. The trail is short and easy.

Google
Beautiful place to spend some zen time. Easy hike in though a bit of rock jumping is called for. The water fall was definitely worth the short hike. For photo buffs great views and angles for some awesome pictures. Highly recommend

Google
Nice Walk-About with a Happy Ending. I entered the park from the CT side. Note the trail head is to the left. It's a 20 minute walk to the falls base, about 2000 steps. It's very nice walk-about and the waterfall is very cool. Not a single bug was encountered along the way. There is a gravel road that overlooks the top of the falls. This is a must-do whilst visiting Norfolk.

Beautiful falls and fall colors . Nice trails you can drive into the park. It has areas you can leave your car and trails that will take you into the woods. The streams and falls are nice and the area is pristine. You can find the state line markers between Connecticut and Massachusetts if you search.

Google
This was a great short hike! All downhill to the falls. Marker on Mass CT line which was really cool. Really enjoyed this fall, was flowing strong even in drought. *Tip* if you park in the second parking area by the fence and walk over the overpass there is a small opening where a short path leads you to the top of the falls! Also, This is not a fall for swimming in.

Yelp
Accessible and beautiful all year round. The falls are accessible as well- dog friendly

Yelp
What a gem! The trails are not blazed, and there is no kiosk with a map when you get there, so save a picture of the map to your phone and pay attention! There are a few places where you can take the wrong trail. If you take the right trail, however, you will be rewarded with a truly impressive waterfall.

Yelp
This is a nice place for a pretty easy family hike. From the parking lot it is less than a mile to the falls. Good path with built in steps and little wooden bridges to make the hike easier and safer. The falls are about 50 feet high and worth the trip.

Yelp
This was the second falls visited by our gang of three adventurers last Wednesday. Both Bash Bish Falls and Campbell Falls were uniquely picturesque. While the trek to BBF was 3/4 mi from the NY parking lot, the jaunt to Campbell Falls was much closer from our dirt parking area. Both falls were similar heights. I inclined to say that BBF was a little higher. Intrepid Paul ventured into the deep pool at the bottom. He looked refreshed. Mountain goat Jamie climbed up the steep terrain to the right of the Falls, and appeared to be standing right in the middle of it at the top. In reality, there is also an opening in the paved road at the top that allows one to get close. Be careful if you do this !!!!!. All-in-all, worth the trip.

Yelp
Slippery Be careful. Beautiful and fun. One visit is enough. Hike the nearby Appalachian Trail. Make sure you have good footwear.

Yelp
We're always hiking somewhere and this place was new, in love with the Water Fall so beautiful. We went in January it was great

Deborah S.

Yelp
The trail isn't marked well but even in a light snow cover we were able to figure it out. Watch out for a few icy patches on the trail that we had to work around if you'll be on the trail in the winter. The falls were gorgeous ... parts along the cascade edges were frozen but running full force! And we met a young porcupine near the trailhead just after the parking area! It was a bit shy ...

Lisa E.

Yelp
After Umpechene Falls, this is my favorite. A quick down hill walk under a canopy of pines leads you to a dramatic view and a cool spray of mist. As the other detailed reviews state, each season delivers a different experience. And I too agree, I have never seen another person down at the water on any of my visits. I love the stone marker in the middle of the trail down that marks " Conn " and "Ma" 1906. ( I think that's the date) This is a must visit and it is easy to reach. You only need an hour or two to enjoy the falls and surrounding trails .... So if you are pressed for time, it is not a longer walk like Bash Bish Falls. It is small but delivers a big punch .

Yelp
The falls are gorgeous but If you are looking for a long hike or walk this is not the place to come to. It is very quiet and peaceful. The trail is easy to follow with a relatively steep incline heading back from the falls to the parking lot.

Jacob S.

Yelp
Was a great adventure to take with my kids great short hike to a beautiful waterfall that has to small pools of water that you can take a dip into. Not great for swimming but still very beautiful place.

Yelp
Beautiful falls little steep going but definitely worth the trip about a mile hike down to gorgeous falls. Lovely scenery, would definitely repeat this doable hike!

Yelp
Simply the Greatest Place in the World! Why: because it is Maginficnetly Beautiful and no one knows about it! Also I believe the bubbling pure Berkshires spring water has healing qualities for muscle injuries (no joke). The secluded falls are nestled in the rural untamed southern portion of the beautiful Berkshire Hills, right on the border between scenic Southfield, Massachusetts and stately Norfolk, Connecticut (two quintessential New England small towns). It is easily accessible with quarter mile walk down a splendid woodland trail which is filled with every form of bird and beast (but only the friendly kinds). In Fall: The autumn air is crisp, clear and cool and the Berkshire forest is afire with colors that awe the senses. But all of this pales before the sheer beauty of the cascading water, rushing down the ancient rocks to the serene pool below. The water actually leaps over the rocks, flying through the fall air, where it glimmers; each drop like a diamond in an always moving tapestry of vibrancy and color. Supernatural Mists arise from the pool below thrilling the senses and entrancing the imagination. In Winter: half freezes over creating an ice sculpture that nearly blinds the eye with ginormous, brilliant tendrils frozen in place, suspended in mid air, like a scene from Narnia before the thaw. In the Spring: The forest flowers bloom and fall into the water, creating an enchanted bath of brilliant petals and smells that are so sweet you can never smell even the most expensive perfume again with out feeling sadly disappointed. But Summer is the thing!!! Heaven is swimming here on a Hot August night of a full moon. The pale moon light hits the splishing, splashing water like a like a scene from a magical dream. When your toes touch the water a jolt of energy curses through your body like a miraculous healing current sent straight from above to repair your body and soul. The water is so clean and pure that it washes away all the misery of the day. Along with every ounce of stress and worry that you once had. Fully submerged in the cool, intoxicating, bubbling water you are transported to another place: a better place. And you don't want to ever leave. And better still: you can legally camp right by the falls and be lulled into a deep rejuvenating sleep by the sweet song of the swooshing water and the pleasant murmurs of all the forest creatures, both great and small. Come here before you die! Or maybe you will come here after you die (unless you are going to the hot place...you know who you are)

Yelp
I like to come here after going for a hike at Haystack Mountain to cool off (I suggest you do both in the same day it's a wonderful combination). If you drive down "Campbell Falls Road" it is a rough dirt road NOT the first paved road that says "State Park" -- you will find a tiny lot to park your car in. You can follow the signs down an extremely open downhill pathway, shielded by the canopy the trees create. You think this is nice? just wait until you get to the bottom. You can hear the falls rumbling and crashing about half-way walking down. Now, I have been here many times and only 2x I have run into other people. One person was taking professional photos for a local magazine, and another pair were jumping off the jagged rocks into the water! I literally come to relax, but friends tell me that the waterfall is so powerful, it has eroded the base of the pool so far down that you can pencil dive off the rocks and not hit the bottom (I don't want to encourage any juvenile behavior, be careful). If you're curious you can wade into the water before it gets deep, but the water is FREEZING. If you look all the way to the right of the lower falls, you'll see a pathway that you can safely climb up (with hiking shoes or some type of sole) to the middle of the two falls. Up here, the water is calm and you can take some pretty amazing pictures, dangle your feet in the water, and walk up under the falls if you are a strong swimmer. I would suggest that if you DON'T know how to swim, please stay on the lower level and enjoy the scenery! There have been a few reported incidents here. We want to keep this place open to the public!

Yelp
Very cool place that is not well known even by the locals. This is a good sized waterfall in a pretty remote location. You can park about a quarter mile from the falls and hike down to the bottom. It can be a little strenuous coming back up, but anyone in reasonable shape should be able to do it without a problem. There is a cool spot along the trail where you cross the Connecticut/Massachusetts state line and there is a marker. You can stand with a foot in each state! At the bottom you can get some great photos and even wade out into the cold water if you dare! Well worth a trip to see this beautiful waterfall!

Yelp
A great place to visit especially if you like viewing waterfalls and or you like hiking. You could probably picnic here in the warmer weather. As great as this place is the state of Massachusetts needs to get its act together and provide adequate directions and signage to get to this true gem in the state park system especially considering that cell phone signal is virtually non existent as is GPS. Thankfully the locals that we encountered helped us greatly in getting to the park, because we encountered bridge out signs and detours that did not get us to the park in a timely manner. In fact we drove all over the area trying to find Campbell Falls State Park. Way to make YOUR residents waste gas because you don't want to put up adequate signage Massachusetts! Loss of a star for that. On a special note we went here when it was very cold and the falls looked awesome frozen. About 90% of the falls were covered in ice.

Yelp
Beautiful park and the fall is gorgeous! There are two versions of this hike. The short one is about 15 minutes and the long one is about 30-40 minutes. Both are beautiful! The fall is so pretty and peaceful and you can put your feet in the nice cool water at the bottom. Also, the hike is shaded. A great experience for all!
