Campbell House Penang

I love love this hotel so much that I told my hb that we have to stay here at least a night. Location is super convenient, it’s right in the centre of Georgetown where you can get all kind of food, massage, places easily and walking distance to all the street arts. There are so many nice cafes to visit if you like cafe hopping. Almost every corner is a great photo spot!! Do prepare your camera with ample storage for photo bombs.🤭

We loved our stay in this heritage property. Our room (Malaya) was beautiful and very comfortable. We had the beds separated out into twins and there was still plenty of space, including a small sitting area with a daybed. We couldn't even keep up with the generous a la carte breakfast and the daily sweet treats left in our room (although we confess that's because we were indulging in a lot of street food!). Last but not least, the staff deserve special recognition for being so welcoming and friendly, especially Diana and Kumar. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Just had 3 nights in Campbell House, what a fabulous place checked in by Kumar who gave us so much information on George town and some great local eateries. The room was lovely my wife said the owner must have great taste as it's done so well. Treats in the afternoon, a great a la carte breakfast in the Italian restaurant downstairs and previously people commented on outside noise we slept through a massive thunderstorm and didn't hear a thing. Perfect location.Lovely place, very nice people highly recommended. Also we didn't go up to the terrace until the 3rd nights oops lovely place to chill in the evening as it cools down.

Had a 4 night stay at Campbell House. We booked the 2 storey-room (The loft). It was a well maintained heritage themed room. Really enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of the hotel staff and the afternoon treats. A small note is that the hotel has no lifts and only stairs. The staff will help with the luggage via a pulley system. Loved the hotel’s Italian restaurant (Il barcaro) so much we ate dinner there 2 days in a row. Very authentic delicious Italian food. It’s also walking distance to lots of delicious local food. Highly recommend the char kuay teow at Chowrasta market (3min walk) nearby and the local congee (Cintra street fish & chicken porridge). We’ll love to stay here again when we next visit.

Booked this place for our anniversary trip - staff was very attentive and wonderful service throughout. The room was very well furnished and restored. Location is superb, close to many eateries, incld famous ones, and walking distances to many attractions. We booked the Opium room. While it was near the staircase, you could barely hear anything. Shout out to the staff for their impeccable service and hospitality

It’s located right in the center of George Town, with a very charming vintage design. The environment is extremely comfortable, and the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. I also tried the restaurant under the same management, and the food was excellent as well. I would definitely like to stay here again and bring my family next time.

Lovely period house with lovely fittings and furnishings. Good bed. But, the hotel was very noisy at night during our stay due to a generator running outside the hotel (providing an electricity supply to the local area) and after that, roads works starting at midnight and on-going until after 0330. In terms of improvements AC units old and noisy and could do with an update.

Very cosy hotel, staff friendly, no shoes policy inside the residences, vintage but yet very clean. Sweet delights every night complimentary, and thank you for making up the bed to celebrate our anniversary! Staff Diana was very helpful during the stay, much appreciated!

Such a convenient place! We loved the staff here and loved how close we were to all the famous hawker stalls and dim sum restaurants. We could eat, come back for a break and then go out again. Toi Soon Cafe (Kaya toast and Kopi-o) is two blocks away and so is Lebuh Kimberley. The mall with the glass skywalk is about 10 minutes away. There was a street vendor selling soup noodles right next door and we saw tour buses stopping by (sadly the noodles sold out by noon and we didn't get to try it). I couldn't find a write-up in any of the blogs or books, but it must be really good. The hotel is a bit of a walk (15 minutes) to museums and the ports, so that's the trade-off.

Five star service. Period. Spotless and well-appointed, unique rooms and professional, courteous front-desk service. Breakfast was very meticulously prepared, with attention to detail, fruit cut up decoratively, and well presented. Warm welcome upon arrival. This is a professional establishment. No elevator - and they have a unique way of bringing up the luggage with a rope! Lovely place, highly recommend. Solid.

Very nice place. Located in an old colonial hotel right downtown georgetown. Great cozy atmosphere with friendly,efficient service. Good fun. Appetizers for 4 (antipasto) was fantastic. And surprisingly good value. Steaks and pizza were good. If u feel like splurging just a little bit, this restaurant is a good choice
