"This local favorite breakfast spot has quickly become Los Cabos’ worst-kept secret. Far removed from the main tourist zone, Restaurant Bar Campestre has for years catered to local businesspeople, families, and in-the-know visitors. Even after a renovation that upped seating capacity, it remains a no-frills flavor palace well worth the wait for a table and the effort to find it. Come early for a heaping serving of chilaquiles (strips of fried corn tortillas). They’re available with red or green sauce, and topped with chicken or steak. All the breakfasts pair perfectly with just-squeezed orange juice and cup after cup of fresh-brewed coffee."

Google
This traditional Mexican restaurant, highly recommended by locals for breakfast, was exceptional. The generous portions and reasonable prices make it a highly recommended choice for an authentic Mexican culinary experience.

Google
The food was delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. This restaurant was some of the best value I experienced in Cabo; the portion sizes were ginormous for very low prices. A great spot for the locals, but still tourist-friendly.

Really delicious chile relleno con camarones and great service. The preparation of the shrimp and flavor was outstanding.

Absolutely, yes! Being Mexican-American, I have a deep love for authentic Mexican cuisine, but being married to someone of Caucasian descent, I rarely get to enjoy it outside of visits to my mom's house. During our two-week stay in Cabo, I was craving a taste of home, particularly for breakfast, and I am beyond thrilled to have stumbled upon this gem! While I had dined here for dinner back in 2019, it had been so long that I couldn't quite recall the experience, but I'm ecstatic to have rediscovered it because the food was absolutely delightful! We arrived during a busy weekend and had just missed the breakfast window by a mere 5-10 minutes. Despite this, the staff graciously accommodated us, a gesture for which I am immensely grateful, as I had convinced my partner and his family to join us for a breakfast feast. Let me tell you, the chilaquiles were nothing short of perfection—my mouth waters at the memory and as I glance at the photos. Each bite transported me back to my childhood, reminiscent of the home-cooked meals my mom used to prepare. While the setting may not be as fancy as some other establishments in Cabo, nestled more inland, it exudes a charming rustic vibe reminiscent of a cozy Mexican shack. The atmosphere was lively, with pleasant music playing in the background, and it was evident that everyone around us was thoroughly enjoying their meals. I couldn't resist peeking at other breakfast' plates and asking our server about their dishes so we could order something similar—a decision we certainly didn't regret!

Google
Great Food. Family Friendly Atmosphere. Fairly Priced. Street parking was available in front of the restaurant.

Google
Incredible food, great service, and amazing value! Looked like everyone else there were locals. The portions are huge and the prices were small. This was an amazing discovery! Highly recommended for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Google
The food is out of this world. The chilaquiles... more than words can explain and the best I have ever had. If you want the best authentic homemade dishes you can think of at an amazing price this is the spot. You will find 99.99% of locals eating with family and friends enjoying a very good meal. If that doesn't say it than nothing can. (Sorry for the photo already being eaten some it was too good 😅)

Yelp
Where the locals go to eat and off the beaten bath. Yummy, authentic, and very generous portions of food served. Loved eating here after a day of parasailing! Nice service, easy going, and overall a pleasant place!

Yelp
It was a nice little restaurant where the staff was very welcoming and prompt with serving you. We tried a couple places the local recommended but this spot by far exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and had that homemade flavor. The plates were huge portions full of flavor. I'm very picky with chile rellenos and I can say I was not disappointed. The chile was loaded with cheese and flavor. I added shrimp into mine which paired perfectly with it. I would say the chile could have been burned a little longer prior to cooking make it softer but it was still very delicious. I ordered the chips and beans for an appetizer and those beans were delicious and again loaded with cheese. These were black beans vs the regular beans you will get with your plate so I would recommend ordering if you like that. I ordered the Combinación Mexicana and I don't think I was even able to put a dent in my plate because it came with so much. It had a chile relleno, quesadilla, enchiladas (the red sauce ones were delicious), and flautas/rolled tacos. My partner ordered the Desayuno Montañero and almost licked the plate clean. I would highly recommend this place if you're out in the area or visiting.

Yelp
Excellent authentic Mexican food! We came at 3:00 in the afternoon and the place was packed! We both had the comida de dia which was fajitas de pollo. The food was muy delicioso! This place is off the beaten tourist path of Cabo and worth the drive!

Yelp
We are super baffled by all the positive reviews - are they real? The food here was extremely subpar.chips stale and salsa uninspiring. Enchiladas had no melted cheese and were flavorless. It was seriously awful. The bacon wrapped shrimp was truly inedible and lacked flavor. So greasy. Service was fine and the mango drink was decent. Taco Bell would have been better. Sorry Campestre but even our Uber driver told us we made a mistake by going there.

Yelp
Después de varios día de comer comida en el hotel decidimos salir al pueblo a desayunar. Alguien que trabaja en el hotel nos recomendó este lugar y no decepciono. Era el desayuno mexicano que necesitaba. If you want authentic Mexican breakfast, go here. Lots of locals starting their day with meals here, you can't go wrong

Yelp
Great food, great music, excellent service. If you want a truly local meal, this is the place!

Yelp
Some of the best food I've had in Cabo San Lucas. It is near the boardwalk in San Lucas but far enough away to really mix in with the locals. Some of the best food is found in hole in the walls. I was recommended this place for breakfast and it did not disappoint. Service was great and food came out rather quickly. Definitely give them a stop when you're in Cabo.

Yelp
SO GOOD! Off the main drag of Cabo- but so fun to come to a new area that we had never been. Not only were they super accommodating for our large party... I swear they had 1 server for our entire table and he was ON IT! The food was outstanding- plan to share or take leftovers. The best part is that there were more locals than there were tourists... so you know it's gonna be good! Drinks were flowing, food was authentic and fresh, establishment was clean, price was right, and the Bananas Foster and Spanish Coffee comes with a show (which they turn off all the lights in the entire place for!) Such a fun and yummy place. It is an ABSOLUTE MUST while you are in Cabo. Plan to take a cab (about 10 minutes away from the marina). Id love to check out the area more and see what else is around!

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast/ brunch! Came here around 8:40 AM on a weekday and it was already packed. Thankfully it was only about a 5 minute wait. I got the Desayuno Campestre. Large portions, affordable, and delicious. They accept credit cards as well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Excellent breakfast! I ordered the Norteño!!! Wow!!!! I would return just to have breakfast here!!! The coffee and bread were not my favorite, but the food more than makes up for that!!! The eggs were so tasty (not runny) and went well with the carne asada, refries beans and potato wedges! The fresh, hot tortillas were a nice touch! This was my favorite food spot while visiting Cabo! I would definitely eat here again!!!

Simone R.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were recommended this place by a local and when I tell you this was probably the best food we had in Cabo... I'm not lying! Great service, fresh food, huge portions (which made for an extra meal back at the resort). You can tell that this restaurant is someone's heart and passion and it shows in the atmosphere and on the plate.
google avatar

Yelp
No gringos here... packed with locals at a great price point. Asked for menudo, nope that's not there. Ribeye they asked how it's cooked. Want medium rare m, received 1/2" thick well done. Hurt my jaw gnawing on that meat. Not juicy but ok. Chile reano that was the 5 star bomb! 1/2" thick packed with queso and topped with yummy red sauce. Guac was also fair.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! This place is a hidden gem in Cabo where all the locals eat a good meal. If you want inexpensive and authentic Mexican food, then this is your place!! Parking can be a challenge but worth searching for a spot. Telling all my friends now!!

Yelp
You know it's the real deal when there's a line of Mexicans waiting to be seated! It's a pretty good sized restaurant so the wait for two was only about 10 min...but we were literally the only tourists waiting for a table and the other 8 parties in front of us were all Latinos. We got the Norteño breakfast plate and the Campestre breakfast plate. Please come hungry because it's a lot of food. Both were very hearty and delicious. The flour tortillas were fresh (didn't taste like it was from a package). Orange juice was fresh squeezed and so was my green juice. Very solid traditional breakfast restaurant. A must try in Cabo!!

Dion F.

Yelp
Good meal and reasonably priced. We were the only tourists there but we didn't have any problems communicating.

Yelp
Restaurant was great. Many locals eat there, so it must be good! A local took us to eat there.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic for authentic Mexican food. We had the best experience for breakfast and would highly recommend - it is worth the short taxi into town.

Yelp
You won't go away hungry. A bit off the beaten path, this restaurant serves great authentic mexican food at great prices. We tried fajitas, enchiladas, imperial shrimp, and quesadillas. The quesadillas were huge with chicken and cheese. The shrimp were stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon. The green enchilada sauce had just enough spice to flavor the enchiladas but not overdone. Beef fajitas were excellent with corn tortillas. The servers were friendly and attentive. Anything you order will be good and probably too much to eat in one setting. Give it a try.

Yelp
Delicious authentic homemade Mexican food. Always worth the wait! Big portions, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Muy buen servicio, gracias Areli! La comida deliciosa, con buen ambiente. Mucho de que escoger!

Yelp
Best breakfast in cabo, thanks to our uber driver he highly recommended it and it was worth it! Id like to go back for lunch or dinner, definitely worth it!

Yelp
If I could give this 10 stars I would. We had read this was a place for locals, out of the tourist area. Let me start with the environment, definitely local and instant authenticity. The margaritas are the best I've ever had...not too sweet, very fresh. The guacamole and homemade chips are slap your mama good. We had multiple things on the menu and everything is incredible and flavorful. Just to list a few...ribeye, grilled chicken, shrimp quesadilla, enchiladas...all AMAZING. The flan is also the best I've ever had with a beautiful presentation. I grew up around authentic Mexican cooking and this is the real deal. Do not miss this place!! Also, the prices are ridiculously cheap, tip them well, they deserve it!

Yelp
This is Mexican Food! GO Support LOCAL, esta Riquísimo ! Can't wait to be back in Cabo San Lucas and visit once more.

Yelp
We are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and needed to get authentic Mexican food, we were referred by a man at a Tequila shop a mile away- I am so glad that he told us about this spot, by far the best meal I had so far since our stay!!!! We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was superb!- from the food to the waiters! Food, service and price, you cannot beat. It was busy and I can see why!
google avatar

Haidee B.

Yelp
My father in law mentioned this restaurant and decided to come for breakfast. We waited maybe 5-10 min to get seated as there was a line to get in but let me tell you this place is delicious!!! Portions are huge too!!! Customer service was great!! I will definitely come back and recommend this place!!!
google avatar

Sergio D.

Yelp
Food is authentic and delicious. Prices are great for the amount of food that is served. Highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
So my fiancé and I were tired of the breakfast at the resort and thats how we stumbled on this flavor filled local hole in the wall! The service, atmosphere, and food were excellent! The portions were as big as the flavor! Definitely recommend for a truly authentic/homemade breakfast! Not to mention this entire breakfast was a fraction of the price of eating breakfast at the resort!
google avatar

Jeanne R.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! The food, service and prices are out of this world! I have been going to this restaurant for several years and have never been disappointed. This is definitely Cabo's best kept secret. Where in Cabo can you get lg prawns for such a reasonable price. Presentation, beautiful! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Try it, you won't be disappointed and you will be telling all your friends about this amazing restaurant!

Yelp
Our taxi driver recommended this restaurant where locals eat. Food was excellent and delicious. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Delicious food and great (local) prices. I had the bistec ranchero, had a bit of a spicy kick. My BF had the arrachera, it was super juicy and tender. Come try this gem
google avatar

Yelp
It doesn't take long to find the best breakfast places during our travels. This place is definitely the Top. After asking many taxis, bellhops, maids, and locals, this was the same place they all agreed on. Bring a good appetite because the servings are large.
google avatar

Hangry B.

Yelp
Everything was on point. The service was great. We ordered: Smoothies, Coffee, and Juice. The huevos divorciados were delicious, served with chilaquiles, beans and hand made corn tortillas. We also ordered papas, with eggs and rajas a side of beans and hand made flour tortillas. To finish our order we also had the pancake breakfast which came with fruit (the fruit serving was awesome a great verity) all this for $32. I can't say enough of the portions, taste and service.

Yelp
Yum! Yum! Yum! AND....it's away from all the tourists! We decided we wanted to visit a place that was off the beaten path. One of the locals told us about this place. He said it was geared to the locals and therefore prices were for locals. We went on March 29, 2019 and were not disappointed. When we first go there, we took a look at the exterior and thought, um, maybe not. So happy we went in. All the employees were friendly and did not treat us as misfits. Granted, I am Mexican but my husband is not Latino. What to order? EVERYTHING! We started out with Bloody Marys. I know it's a small thing but seriously, why hasn't anyone else garnished these drinks with tomatoes! It looked nice and complimented the drink. I ordered the Huevos Mexicano (Mexican Eggs). Not disappointed. It came with beans and potatoes along with corn or flour tortillas (I got flour). They also have a trio playing music for the customers. The price is only $3 (20 pesos). They know most popular Mexican songs. If you don't know any, feel free to have them play La Bamba. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Authentic, Friendly, amazing combo platter, tender steak, green enchilada so fresh and sauce homemade. Great service!!
google avatar

Yelp
Flavors are tasty and portions are a good size. The only complaints is that all our food was served luke warm. Prices are reasonable. Personnel was very nice.

Yelp
Grateful for vacationing in Cabo. Since my husband and I don't really drink that much the all inclusive doesn't make sense for us at the resorts we stay. However being able to find the best restaurants in the area is critical. This place offers the most amazing breakfast items and my favorite are the red Chilaquiles with chicken. My husband had the Machaca and absolutely loved it with eggs. Their portions are generous honestly we could've split any of these two meals and the fresh fruit plate was out of this world. We will be back every time we come to Cabo and possibly a few times during our stay. Thank you so much!

Scott F.

Yelp
Recommended by the taxi driver. Had the flank steak, very good. Prices are great. People in my group weren't too impressed with the salad. I think it was just a cultural difference. They sang happy birthday for one of the kids. Nice spot away from the touristy area.

Bea M.

Yelp
Best Mexican restaurant in Cabo! Loved this placed!!! I wanted to eat here daily!! Totally recommend!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Today was a reminder to stick with what you know! We enjoyed breakfast here years ago. Tonight we had the most bland & chewy meal since our arrival, 3 weeks ago. I had grilled sea bass, he had some steak, chicken, chorizo mixture; both with packaged rice. Service was great!
google avatar

Kristina A.

Yelp
The food is so good, friendly and helpful staff, excellent value. We love to get away from the tourist areas and go here whenever we are in Cabo. It's on our must-do list.

Yelp
Recommended by a local when we asked for a good traditional Mexican place and it did not disappoint. Stayed at a resort and didn't want the "Americanized" resort version. When I asked resort staff if it was a good recommendation the answer was an immediate "yes". Said that's the place where they go for a good meal after work with large portions for a good price. Pulling up there's ample parking outside. Don't be deterred by the dirt road! The restaurant itself is spacious with large ceilings. Overall very clean. Covid protocols: They've got temperature screening upon entering and hand sanitizer available. Tables are spread a good distance from one another. No paper menus and they have QR code to scan to for your phone. The service was GREAT! Our cell phones died so we couldn't see the menu with the QR code and they let us borrow their personal phone to see. Food was very good and we had a large box of leftovers to take home. Ordered tampiquena, coconut shrimp and fajitas de Res. Will definitely order coconut shrimp again. And the homemade sauce on the enchiladas in the tampiquena was exquisite.

Roonie P.

Yelp
If I could give Campestre more than 5 stars, I would. We moved to Cabo 2 months ago, and we have probably eaten here at least once a week, if not more. The food is ridiculously delicious and so reasonably priced. This is where you find all the locals, and for good reason. If you're feeling very hungry or indecisive, I recommend any of the combos, especially la mexicana or the tampiqueña. The fajitas are yummy if you want something more simple. Craving cheese? Try an alambre. The fish is fresh if you're craving mariscos. Don't forget to ask what the Agua Fresca of the day is--always fresh, and always refreshing and so tasty.

Yelp
If you want an authentic Mexican food, this hidden gem is the place to go if you're in Cabo! We're so used to eating at the resort with incredibly poor service, this staff hustle getting your food out nice and hot! I ordered breakfast and brought me back to a fond time of my childhood. Delicious! Highly recommend
google avatar

Yelp
Omg! This place was amazing! Best breakfast anywhere! Huge plates! Best prices and service! Covid safe! Very clean! Best pinto beans I have had! Delicious! We are coming back for dinner!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is worth the wait! The Excellent: 1) Fresh squeezed juice = amazing 2) huge portions of Delicious Food 3) relatively cheap The Terrible 1) Dodgy area 2) very difficult parking 3) can be a long wait
google avatar

Yelp
This place was balls deep!! In the hood, amazing REAL local food at local prices. Service was killer, food was cheap and a lot of it. We went there 4x on our trip. No place we found was better!!
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Love this place when we are at our home in Cabo! Unlike most places in Cabo, it is still a very good price and exceeds in value to flavor and portion ratio. The steak combo is a favorite and the Mexican platter. Try it! You won't be disappointed!

Noah H.

Yelp
This is the best restaurant in Cabo. When you get tired of the bland resort food take a taxi and go here. The serve breakfast lunch and dinner so you can go and get what ever your craving. The servers here know exactly what they are doing and the bathrooms are very clean.
google avatar

Yelp
One of several places recommended by locals for good food, portions, and prices. Close to bus lines. Service is fairly fast and attentive. They also don't seem to mind diners hanging out after eating - and are not in a hurry to get paid - so you might have to ask for the bill....
