I went there last Saturday (6/7)! I ordered a center cut top choice steak & a Campfire Burger. Food were good but a bit dry, not saucy & wet. And, my server Katie (at the bar) was nice! 😊 Really friendly, also makes sure you are satisfied & comfortable!

First time, and we love it!! Husband ordered the ribeye steak med/rare and for a First time (in years) he got what he wanted!! It was just delicious excellent quality of meat! I ordered the pasta (chicken, mushrooms and broccoli over fettuccine) and it was delicious. Service was exceptional just amazing...definitely an incredible experience.

Called 3 times to ask about takeaway orders, no one answered. Ordered 1 appetizer and 3 cocktails: the cocktails were good (I had the campfire skipper - one of those dangerous fruity drinks that you're tempted to order half a dozen of because you can't taste the alcohol so don't realize how much you've had), but the cheese dip app was overpriced (12 preztels with a little skillet of dip that could reasonably cover a 20 count) - and there's an upcharge for extra pretzels. Friendly staff: everyone from the hostess Caroline to our server (her name started with a J, and I'm so sorry I can't remember it, but shout out to her) and the assistant manager Gabe. They're all lovely. It's a good thing we only came for drinks, because by the time our order came out, we had had to listen to a screaming toddler for nearly 10 minutes. If we'd planned to stay longer, I would have had words with the manager about the noise - not the restaurant's fault, but had I stayed longer, definitely something I would expect a manager to step in about.

My husband and I ordered the catfish platter. The breaded fish was crispy and moist. Very flavorful, she had seasoned mixed vegetables that were very good. The Cajun pasta salad was very good with hint of spice. Good portions that we even took some home. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Our server was the first to ask if we were eligible for the military discount. We'll be back again.

Google
Great atmosphere for good food when visiting Massanutten Resort. The mountain burger hit the spot. Good selection of cocktails and beer.

Google
Literally AMAZING! Get the S’more’s dessert drink! It’s so good! The pot pie 10/10 INCREDIBLE!!!! Savanah was great! Will be back!

Google
Poor service, sat at the bar and had to get the server attention for another drink she didn't even ask if we wanted another. IV been to bars where the bar was completely full and the server still ecknoldged us. I'm big on customer service because I work for tips but don't wait until I "ask" for the check and then try to be nice. To late. She's lucky I even tipped 10% (usually I tip 25% or more) when it should have been zero. I live in the area and definitely won't go back there.

Google
Went here to eat a late dinner on Sunday night. Service was fast and accurate. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The fried green tomatoes and skillet corn bread were both very good. We just got appetizers and a salad so can’t comment on the entrees. But the food we got was all very good.

Yelp
Last night we had dinner there. My mom never ate catfish, I told her depending on how it's done she should like it. Well , when it came out it was in strip form. And let me tell you, IT WAS THE BEST IVE EVER HAD!! The zucchini was perfectly done. Cornbread and smashed potatoes were awesome! I wish I lived here I would be there once a week!

Yelp
While staying at the Massanutten resort, our family decided to have dinner at this establishment one night. Since this is a resort restaurant we did not have very high expectations. The servers greeted us warmly and were able to accommodate our large party without reservations which we were super grateful for. Multiple people in our party ordered the pot roast, the burgers, the salmon, mac and cheese. When my salmon first came out I was very impressed. The veggies on the side were perfectly seasoned. The mashed potatoes were A-okay. I don't care for leaving the skin in a mash and I am also not the biggest fan of red potatoes (purists know yukon gold is the undefeated champion of a stellar mash, but I digress) ... my salmon had a wonderful sweet Asian teriyaki crust on it which was crispy and rich and fatty as a filet of salmon should be... until I noticed that the rest of this fish was raw and pink inside. We sent our plates of fish back to the kitchen to have them cooked again and they came out okay. The ambiance here is very family restaurant meets log cabin. A couple of people who ordered the pot roast didn't feel too good the next day, I peeped over and that dish did not look appetizing at all. They should really work to spruce it up. The mac and cheese sauce was also on the runnier side, something to work on. With a few improvements this restaurant can easily be a 4 or 5 star establishment. A little bit of attention to detail goes a long way.

Yelp
Had lunch here at the Campfire Grill at Massanutten Resort. The restaurant is very nice and clean. Service was okay considering the place was not very busy. We had the Onion Soup and the Teton Forest Pizza. Soup was very good and had a lot of flavor. The pizza on the other hand was not very good. Dough seemed a little raw and did not rise as expected. Flavor was not very good. This place is convenient if you are staying at the resort.

Yelp
I took my daughter and grandsons for lunch. This visit was very disappointing. Our server was not friendly and really did not do a good job. I ordered the catfish, mashed potatoes and green beans. The fish was a bit dry and beans not seasoned. We also had some of the worst cucumber salad we ever had. It was so sour it could not be eaten. The good point is the pizza was very good. The interior is typical restaurant seating, etc. They only accept the gold card Tues-Thur. I guess we are only gold members a couple days a week. Disappointing!!

Yelp
It was still looking the same as last time. A few dirty tables surrounding our table when we were seated. Staff were friendly. I got the buffalo chicken fries again. This time the chicken was trash 0/10. When I bit into all of them it was just air. No real meat. So they changed that or I got a bad chef that day. The burger was good 8/10. I loved the jalapeño jam on it! We waited for a while when we wanted our check. Was not a good vibe this time!! Pretty sure I won't be back! They also took the pork rind nachos off the menu.

Yelp
The interior of the restaurant is very cool, reminds you of a cabin as soon as you enter the main area, the mason jars for glasses were neat too. The food was pretty decent for the price, but realistically I wouldn't come back here. The service was very very slow and they were only seating at half capacity the night we went. By slow I mean we walked in and didn't get sat for 10 minutes, then it took another 20 minutes for the server to even come take drink orders, drinks came out 10-15minutes later (just a Coke/pepsi and a sweet tea), then food took even longer, all in all, we spent nearly 2.5 hours in the restaurant for average food.

Yelp
How do you run out of hot chocolate in the winter And why is the burger patty described as being a skillet? I'm not sure what happened to this place, but it ain't good. It used to actually be pretty nice. 2 stars given for comfortable ambience.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Our server was top of the line making sure we were informed, food tasted great and we had everything we needed even though she was super busy. Restaurant had a great family feel atmosphere. We left happy and full! Food is a little pricey.

Yelp
Everything was amazing! The food, waitress, and the restaurant. My son got the salmon and I got the steak. Both were cooked perfectly.

Yelp
New Year's 2024 had a wait list of about an hour, but it was worth the wait. Excellent menu offering, unique atmosphere and live entertainment.

Yelp
I almost didn't try this place because of the low stars, but I'm glad I didn't listen to a few people with bad experiences. We went to Campfire Grill after a long drive to the resort and we didn't feel like driving 20 more minutes to Harrisonburg. Glad we did! The service was great. We were seated immediately and our server came over right away to take both our drink and our food orders. She offered helpful suggestions and everything came quickly. I had a Beyond burger (hard to mess that up, yes) but the fixings were great. Thinly sliced red onion, lettuce, and tomato. My husband had a real burger and it was cooked to his liking (i.e., not well done). We both enjoyed the fries which were piping hot and crispy. All in all, a perfectly fine meal. Very convenient. Lovely ambiance - cabin-like feel, open and airy. Will definitely go back when I come back to the area.

Yelp
We ordered dinner togo here one night while staying at Massanutten resort and boy how I regret it. The food was cold when we opened up the bag. And this is a ~5 minute drive back to our lodging in the resort and maybe 5 minute from car to table and eating. The bacon mac n cheese appetizer was ok. Some parts of it tasted like wet sock. But the parts that didn't tasted fine. The House cut bone in steak which today's selection was Tbone steak and sold at market price was the most disappointing. For $48 the cut was dry, tough, hard, just very bad. The plastic utensils given had a tough time cutting through it. There was not even the tiniest bit of warmth to this steak by the first cut. It was like it was made hours ago, even the fat was solid. The Campfire half chicken had no flavor. Nothing else to say about this other than Costco's rotisserie is way better, in flavor, juiciness, and you get the whole bird. The gumbo taste like rice in watery gravy with little to no seafood. The menu description was "Shrimp, cod, mussels, and venison sausage served in a zesty gumbo." There maybe was one piece of each item above with soupy rice. The Wild game skillet description in the menu was "Blend of wild boar, elk, bison and wagyu in a chopped steak with potatoes, broccoli, onions, and Campfire marinade." Well the chopped steak is just a meat patty. And it was not great, very dry and tough. Not sure what a skillet has to do with this dish with it being named a skillet dish but it was cold. We took it to go so I understand it could be warm not hot by the time we eat back in the lodging but it was just cold. We also got some sides that came in half a pint size, the tomato and cucumber salad and zucchini. Both tasted fine but the portion was tiny. Would not recommend to anyone. Everything was overpriced for the way it tasted.

Nicholas H.

Yelp
Service was great, our server was quick and attentive. Food was decent for a resort restaurant. Had the prime rib special, smashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Everything was done well, and the skillet cornbread appetizer will always keep us coming back. Enjoyed the rustic lodge theme. Always a fun place to eat while visiting Massanutten. Would recommend.

Yelp
Lovely waitstaff and dessert cocktails! Resort prices are always expensive but the food was delicious
google avatar

Yelp
Meh. It's a resort restaurant - not great not bad but fun. The food was okay the staff were nice but I'd find somewhere else more 'me'.
google avatar

Una T.

Yelp
Very good home cooked meals. Very flavorful!!! The fried green tomatoes with goat cheese is very good with a lil spicy taste.

Kara T.

Yelp
Meh.... It wasn't good. Asked for toppings on the side, the toppings never came. I asked for the toppings again and only 1 of the 2 were brought out. The wild game skillet came out as a burger patty, steamed broccoli, potato and onion, not as the different types of meat described in the menu (bison, elk, wagyu). Mac and cheese was ok, a little on the dry side. I had the bacon jalapeño jam on my burger, but it didn't have much flavor which was disappointing. But hey, the fries were pretty good and the server was nice! It's nothing special, just overpriced food in a resort town.

Cameron R.

Yelp
Good food and friendly service, campfire grill is a standout amongst what I consider to be other mediocre offerings in-resort
google avatar

Nate M.

Yelp
Three stars is the perfect rating for the Campfire grill. The food is pretty standard and bland, but based on the customers I saw, it all tracks. This is an older community where we were visiting my wife's great grandmother. We decided on the Campfire Grill for dinner afterwards. I went with the meatball sub and it was just ok. The bread was kind of stale so I just stuck with the eating the meatballs and sipping my drink. The meatballs were edible, but needed everything. Salt, oregano, onion, really just any seasoning would be great. There's a full bar for sitting, multiple dining rooms, and an outdoor patio area. For me this place is more of a happy hour snacking spot than a dinner place. Their patio is huge and has gorgeous views of the golf course and the surrounding hills. If you come here, get a glass of wine or two and just enjoy the scenery.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner here that we had to order a second appetizer and a third dessert. LOL! Our server, Nicole, was attentive and pleasant. We went over a month ago so I don't recall the names of the dishes anymore, but everything we had was good! See pics, salad not pictured. Tip: let the cornbread sit for a few minutes before you dig in, else it'll crumble. So good, we ordered a second one coz the kids could not stop eating it.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Great service. Pizza tasted like it was cooked over an actual campfire!
google avatar

Kristen M.

Yelp
The food was alright but could have been a bit better in quantity of what you get for the price you pay. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was an absolute sweetheart!

Dia H.

Yelp
Nope nope nope. Maybe the pizza is better. Got the rotisserie chicken and it was dry and burnt. Asked for another piece and they gave me an even drier piece. Veggies were canned

Denise V.

Yelp
Firstly, the only reason that I am giving it two Stars instead of one is because of the delicious cornbread. let me just say, it was an experience I won't forget--mostly because my taste buds are still in shock. To start, the food had all the flavor of a damp napkin. I didn't know it was possible for brussels sprouts to be both overcooked and burnt. As for the duck, I had high hopes. I requested it well-done, only to receive a dish that seemed to have mistaken its purpose for a surprise audition for "Mystery Meat Theater." And the roast beef--oh, the roast beef! It tasted exactly like it came straight from a can. I'm never dining here again.

Mark E.

Yelp
Almost skipped because of the reviews but glad I didn't. Outdoor views were beautiful, food was delicious and the service was perfect. Highly recommend the cornbread and the Kafjord! Also recommend sitting outside if the weather permits.

Katlain C.

Yelp
If I could zero stars I would. The food was not good for the prices that were charged. The specials were majorly overpriced. After asking the waitress about the specials she never offered a price about any of them. We asked the waitress multiple times for a few things that we needed for our party of 8 ( straws, dressing, steak sauce, cheese, etc) that were never brought out until we asked a few times again. We also saw on our bill that a tiny cup of cheese was $3.75 and someone should have been told that was an up-charge. The 20% gratuity that was added to our bill ended up being almost $55 and the service was worth $10. Overall for the restaurant to be right on Massanutten Resort you would think the service would be superb yet it felt less than adequate.

Yelp
Let me start with I am staying in the area came across this for Wine down Wednesday!!! The wine flight selection was not my cup of enjoyment..... all dry wines. However, there was live music and he did a good job...we stayed until the closing to listen. Wine tasting is 6pm to 9pm and the restaurant closes at 9pm, kinda a bummer since I am on vacation, but it's a weekday so I get it.

Paul C.

Yelp
Everything Food was good Service was Good could have been a little faster. Wait to long
google avatar

Don J.

Yelp
Great food and attentive staff. Decent parking. Open and welcoming atmosphere. Probably very good for families

H M.

Yelp
The atmosphere is good and the live music over the weekend is nice, but it's way understaffed. The food quality is so so.
google avatar

Catherine S.

Yelp
The service was great. The ambiance in the room was perfect and comfortable. The food was reasonable and good.
google avatar

Michelle E.

Yelp
We like this cozy place their food is great I like my mahi tuna and the chicken dumpling soap and the dessert for that night is apple caramel Dumplings is amazing!! They also have a live band during weekends If you want to chill! Also they got busy during dinner time the wait time is 45 mins what we did is put our name on waiting list and wait in our room and then they will call and text you once your table is ready It was a nice dinner with my husband! We're glad we choose this place
google avatar

Thomas S.

Yelp
Great night on the mountain! We couldn't make a reservation on line so we decided to go in early and see what happened. At 4:30 we got a high top at the bar. We all enjoyed beer and wine and the spinach dip appetizer. The dinner entrees were all great! Carla was a great server!
google avatar

Regina B.

Yelp
Busy. Don't be in a rush. The food tasted good and the restaurant is what you would expect for a golf course.
google avatar

Tammra S.

Yelp
My party of 3 were seated in the bar area at a table. The service was good. The bar tender who was also our waitress was very friendly. Service was slow, but she was managing a lot with serving the bar and tables in the area. She was super friendly. The guy bar tender really ruined this experience for us. I'm not sure what a customer at the bar said but the guy bar tender started to loudly accuse us, not once but three times for taking a chair from the bar to put at our table. I stated we did not...the host sat us and took the chair from the bar himself to seat us. Bartender then called over host who explained it is first come first serve. Uncalled for on the male bartender. I'm sure it ruined his tips from one chair...but beyond ruined the experience and not how you handle yourself professionally.
google avatar

Yelp
Truly feels like I'm in a ski lodge in the Alps. Good food, service and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back with friends this upcoming weekend for my wife's birthday.
google avatar

Neha S.

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends to get dessert while visiting the Massanutten resort. We were in the mood for some hot chocolate and s'mores on a super chilly day. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and there is a lot of menu options including burgers and pizzas. There is also a large bar with plenty of seating. There is outdoor seating with bubbles outside but there is no heaters in there unfortunately. The hot chocolate was delicious- so warm and had a chocolate glaze with plenty of whipping cream. The only thing was missing was marshmallows, not sure why there wasn't any already in it but the waiter was graciously able to bring us some. The s'mores was absobsletly perfect. The chocolate wasn't too melted where it got everywhere but it was still warm was easy to scoop up with the marshmallow. The service here was fast and our waiter was great and super friendly. Would be back here again!

Yelp
When on vacation, I love to stop by Campfire Grill before hitting the road to home. Especially during Snowfest. Their brunch buffet is so good. For $25 you can get the basics, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles and then there's the hot bar such as chicken alfredo and carve station. My nephew loves it the most because he loves the waffle bar, bacon and anything with seafood. This time around I decided to try the menu. I choose the prime rib sandwich. O-m-g, it's so good. It has a good amount of fat and meat. I mean, gotta have some fat. Just saying. Definitely not overcooked and dried. Their in house sauce was delicious with the sandwich. The bread was good but it would be nice to have it slightly toasted (personal preference). The service was good. Since it was busy, our wait time was slower than our last experience. Our food did take a little awhile to come out. As for pricing, my sandwich was $14. I think the prices were fair for a resort. I have experience crazy pricings and this is nothing compare to it. Overall, I look forward to coming back next year. Or hopefully this summer! People are friendly and the establishment is clean and welcoming. Worth the visit!

Yelp
What in the Sam hills? Went there at about 6 on Dec 26 and ordered take out from the bar. The bartender asked if I wanted my burger cooked medium rare and I said yes please! In what felt like an hour later the burger (generous name) came out beyond very well-done and had none of the toppings that were supposed to be on it. Nothing about it was the way the campfire burger was described on the menu. It was not 8 oz as promised and it was also very well done super dry and there was nothing prime about it. To make a bad thing worse, there was a donut-hole cut in the middle. (see picture). Why? It was inedible. Beyond terrible.. The fries were equally terrible --from freezer burned to overdone (refried?) and hard. A total waste of time and money. This place should be ashamed.
google avatar

Laura Virsteen A.

Yelp
The restaurant looks great! Sarah is a great server - incredibly professional, very knowledgeable and helpful. We ordered the pot roast and the carbonara. The pot roast was incredible!!!! My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed it, as did I. We even ordered one to go! Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the carbonara....it left MUCH to be desired and I would urge caution. Fortunately, Sarah saved the day. Overall a good experience! We will be back.
google avatar

Danny L.

Yelp
Still giving this place 5 stars for their breakfast buffet. All the favorites are still just as good. They had added waffles today as well with a variety of toppings including syrups, blueberry compote and whipped cream.
google avatar

Kathryn B.

Yelp
Whenever we are on vacation in the area, we HAVE to visit Campfire Grill. The food is amazing, the staff is incredible, and it has the perfect mountain ambiance. You will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Jimmy J.

Yelp
The first time I went here the food was decent & service was great. The past few times I've been here, the food has gone to unacceptable levels. The cooks or whomever is in the kitchen put out subpar food. For the prices on the menu you'd think you'd get a decent meal. As most have stated, avoid this place as you can find establishments that do a much better job & in some cases more reasonably priced. The deck is nice as the restaurant sits next to the golf course. I'd say stop by for drinks & the cornbread. It's about the only thing that is consistent. Buen Provecho!
google avatar

DeeAnn B.

Yelp
Server was under par and the food was cold and undercooked, Manager didn't seem to care either! George the server from another table was awesome he tried his best to make our first visit better and was rewarded! We'll try it again maybe just won't order steaks or baked potatoes.....

Lori J.

Yelp
Menu was great for the family over a holiday weekend. Service was wonderful. We had a great time.
google avatar

Tom G.

Yelp
Got the 1/2 chicken with a side of zucchini and it was very tasty. Previously had the gumbo and that was also good. Nice place and friendly service.
google avatar

Eastie T.

Yelp
Nothing great about this place, the food was just meh, the stars are for service only.
google avatar

Ken B.

Yelp
Wings, water, and tea. The only things to get from here. My gumbo: trash Sons burger: garbage Sons sandwish: basura Cucumber & tomato salad: what in the why does that taste like that. Silverware: do you all even TRY to clean them? Entire table had dirty Silverware. 100% Oscar the Grouch style utensils to eat my food with. Also overpriced for food that shouldn't even be served to humans. This isn't it.

Ian E.

Yelp
Yes it is a tad bit overpriced but you are on a MOUNTAIN. Samantha was our hostess. She sat us with confidence and gave some great recommendations for food and drinks. Kaitlyn was our server and she was informative and very efficient with a nice smile. Very attentive. Food was quick and prepared to expectations. Well done Campfire Grill
