We ordered dinner togo here one night while staying at Massanutten resort and boy how I regret it.
The food was cold when we opened up the bag. And this is a ~5 minute drive back to our lodging in the resort and maybe 5 minute from car to table and eating.
The bacon mac n cheese appetizer was ok. Some parts of it tasted like wet sock. But the parts that didn't tasted fine.
The House cut bone in steak which today's selection was Tbone steak and sold at market price was the most disappointing. For $48 the cut was dry, tough, hard, just very bad. The plastic utensils given had a tough time cutting through it. There was not even the tiniest bit of warmth to this steak by the first cut. It was like it was made hours ago, even the fat was solid.
The Campfire half chicken had no flavor. Nothing else to say about this other than Costco's rotisserie is way better, in flavor, juiciness, and you get the whole bird.
The gumbo taste like rice in watery gravy with little to no seafood. The menu description was "Shrimp, cod, mussels, and venison sausage served in a zesty gumbo." There maybe was one piece of each item above with soupy rice.
The Wild game skillet description in the menu was "Blend of wild boar, elk, bison and wagyu in a chopped steak with potatoes, broccoli, onions, and Campfire marinade." Well the chopped steak is just a meat patty. And it was not great, very dry and tough. Not sure what a skillet has to do with this dish with it being named a skillet dish but it was cold. We took it to go so I understand it could be warm not hot by the time we eat back in the lodging but it was just cold.
We also got some sides that came in half a pint size, the tomato and cucumber salad and zucchini. Both tasted fine but the portion was tiny.
Would not recommend to anyone. Everything was overpriced for the way it tasted.
