We came here a couple of weeks ago on a Monday night and were offered prompt seating at a table. Our request for a booth resulted in about a 5 minute wait, which was not a problem. Our waitress did her best but she had a huge party of about 12 or so that were in the middle of their meals when we were seated. This resulted in a bit of a long wait to be acknowledged, to get our drinks and order our meals and for her to check on us after the meals where delivered. It wasn't horrible or bad service by any means, just not great. However she was friendly, helpful and took her time with us when she was at our table, never making us feel rushed.
We started with the sourdough bread, which was warm and toasty, straight out of the oven and served with fresh butter that was not hard as a rock. The sourdough taste wasn't really there, but I admittedly like a strong flavor. The only problem was that it was so hot that it made it difficult to cut. The first few slices were fine but after that it was hard to cut and the bread just squished down to about an inch or two of thickness.
We also had the Caribou curds. We had already dug in and removed about a dozen before the picture was taken, so keep that in mind. These were scrumptious and everyone in the family enjoyed them. The cheese was perfectly melted, lightly coated and not greasy. They were served with a Sirachia aioli which was good but very mild.
For our mains everyone ordered a version of Mac & Cheese, except for myself. First up is the plain children's Mac and cheese. It was nice to see that it was a homemade sauce with spiral noodles, served in a dish on top of a frisbee, with their logo, that you get to keep. The Bacon cheeseburger Mac and cheese was loaded with meat as was the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. While they were both very good the buffalo chicken was my hands down favorite of the night.
I ordered the Ledges capellini. For some reason I thought the balsamic would play more of a part in this dish than what it actually did. It seemed to lack on mine, compared to other pictures I had seen. What I did get was an enormous pile of angel hair pasta served with a light sauce made with freshly chopped tomatoes and fresh mozzarella with a bit of basil. I also added the chicken, which was a full breast, grilled and sliced up. The dish was good but I probably would not order it again as I really wish I had been able to taste the balsamic.
We had tons of leftovers, enough for another meal back at camp.
Overall it was a good meal and we would come back again ordering some different choices. I'm sure the service wasn't normal due to the large party so I took a star off for that.
