"Fish Fresh from Lake Zurich Located on the shores of Lake Zurich , Fischer’s Fritz restaurant is located on Zurich’s only campground—a favorite camping destination for the well-heeled city dwellers on holiday. The catch comes straight from Lake Zurich; the restaurant employs a fisherman to cast his net daily. Expect whitefish, trout, perk, pike, wels catfish, burbot and jellyfish to dot the menu. Try the fischknusperli (Swiss fish & chips) or Lake Zurich freshwater sushi prepared by a Japan-trained chef. Sponsored by Swiss International Air Lines"

Clean toilet with toilet paper and soup all day and night - I was impressed. Nice bathroom.Nice view to the lake. Great staff. Downside are the guests - as you would think in a big city - putting loud music and smoke everywhere. I felt like I'm sleeping on an ashtray. Also the restaurant beside has parties sometimes (end at 22:00). It's also crowded. But overall I would totally recommend. Just remember you are in a big city, so it cannot be 100% relaxed...

We pitched up at Camping Fischers Fritz for the Euros 2025—and it turned out to be a brilliant choice. The location’s a dream: right beside the lake with a bus to the city stopping just outside the entrance. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and super helpful. Though we camped without electric hook-up, they let us freeze our blocks and even had a comfy seating area by reception and the shop where you could charge your phone for free—little touches that made a big difference. The showers and toilets? Spotless. They’re also protected by a code, so lake day-trippers can’t sneak in. The tent area is an experience in itself—no designated pitches, just a rolling field where you grab whatever spot you can find. It’s a bit chaotic and buzzing with energy, but that’s half the fun! Just know your neighbours might be close enough to borrow sugar without leaving their tent. I took a dip in the lake—there are steps down to the water, and I’d recommend aqua shoes as the bottom’s a bit rocky. Only real downside: no parking by the tent. The car park is across the road and costs €5 a day with a ticket purchased from reception. Unloading next to the field was manageable enough that we didn’t mind too much. Top Tip: Camp at the back of the field or on the football pitch It’s quieter, and the Wi-Fi works better. The lake is still only a few steps away. Lakeside spots have the best views, but they come with noise however we didn't really hear any noise after 11pm .

The campsite was very crowded and noisy, which made it a bit less relaxing than we had hoped. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. One thing to note: only caravans are allowed inside the camping area — we had to leave our car in a nearby public parking lot, which was inconvenient.

My reservation was 329 CHF, and I was charged 355 CHF. The breakfast was mainly cheese and salami, only green thing was an 🍎 which I am allergic to. Camping bed had only a thin mattress cover, even a camping mattress is better. I did not get any separate confirmation or bill of the new price, only a machine ticket. The receptionist girl did not outstand with her English skills. Perhaps the language skills good be measured before recruiting workers in tourism branch. Thanks to the noise produced by other campers, sleeping was rather impossible.

Very bad experience! We had a small tent and had to find our own place on a field with way too many tents. During the night there was too much noise, in particularly one family, who were talking very loud untill 3 in the night. I asked them twice to be quiet, but they didn’t. When we complained the next morning the management just said: you had to call the police yourself! The man was drunk and stoned and dominante the whole field. There was no management to correct him. There was “überhaupt” no management during the night. Isn’t that an obligatory safety rule? We didn’ty want to stay but they were not willing to refund us for the second night. They even didn’t show any understanding: you had to call the police, was the mantra! This was the worst citycamping experience ever!

Stayed in their Airstream caravan and it was perfect great view onto the lake able to swim and easy walk to public transport, a little busy with tent campers but high season so expected

Google
Overrated and too busy in summer. Looked forward to a stay in their Airstreamer, found it surrounded with tents, unreachable at night. Positive though about the people at the welcome desk.

Yelp
Great authentic food! It was a great place to have a quieter meal with a co-worker. Service was friendly and responsive.

Yelp
I don't get the hype of Fischer Fritz. It is super popular and not easy to get a reservation (but they reserve some of the tables for walk-ins but those are the tables at the back). As it is next to the Zurich Lake it is obviously a nice location, the view is really nice but in my opinion there are other places with the same view and a better menu. While it is called Fisher Fritz (German for Fisherman Fritz), they don't have a wide variety of fish dishes on the menu: they have fried fish and one baked trout. I had the trout and it was just average. However the side salat I did not like: it was swimming in dressing... so much so that I didn't eat it. My friends had the fried fish and said the truffle fries were more tasty than the fish. In addition, the service is not good at all, we had to wait forever, and several mistakes were made, no apologies given. It is a bit out of your way as it isn't in Zurich centre and I don't find it worth to go there as there is many better places at the lake.

Yelp
By far the best truffle fries and fish knusperli I've ever eaten in my life. This place gets very busy for good reason, but they also have a stand where you can order sushi (also fish from the Zurich sea) to hold you over until dinnertime... which ends up making you eat and spend way more than necessary, but I suppose that's the fun of eating out in Zurich. Ammiright?! The area is absolutely beautiful. It attracts plenty of posh Zurich people, but it feels chilled and relaxed, and I absolutely love it. It's right next to a camping platz which I think is cool and different. There are plenty of lovely places you can sit and wait while you sip on your drink (or eat that 28CHF sushi) before you're seated. And oh my god. Those truffle fries are so good.

Yelp
Possibly my worst experience in a restaurant in Zurich!!! The place is wonderful, but the staff not so much especially the "Manager". We arrived as a small group of 4 friends on a nice Sunday for lunch and ordered 3 poke bowls and a Wienerschnitzel, while eating one of my friend found in his mouth quite a big METAL STAPLE, the ones used to staple stuff to the wall!!!! Thank God he did not swallow it or the HEALTH CONSEQUENCES could have been MAJOR!!! The very kind brunette waitress immediately apologised and offered to bring something else, but my friend did not want to risk his health again, and of course we were all worried about what else we could find in our food. She then apologised once more and told us that everything we would eat or drink would be on the house. Thankful for the offer, we decided not to bring the matter forward and decided to try to enjoy our lunch. Two minutes later the "Manager" comes to our table, at first, seemingly to apologize further and offer new food to our friend, but soon he changed tone of voice and while becoming aggressive and rude he told us that the waitress was mistaken: since the rest of the table looked like we were enjoying our food, we were expected to pay for everything except for the drinks (sparkling water and an ice tea...) and our friend's botched food!!  What an absolutely rude and unacceptable behaviour, he ruined not only our lunch but the whole mood as well!!!!!  It is certainly not a matter of money, it is a matter of manner and respecting your guests after an unacceptable event and taking back one's word made them look even worse! We probably should have reported the matter to Lebensmittelkontrolle, as hygiene is evidently very poor in their kitchen if METAL STAMPLE end up in guests' salads or poke bowls.... One thing is for sure.. we will never go to Frisher's Fritz again, there are other places on the lake that care about client experience and with much higher quality!

Yelp
The most beautiful and romantic view, went there before the sunset time and it was the highlight of my trip in Zürich

Yelp
The location is beautiful and would go back just for that. The food is not very good i had the wrapped fish and it was very dry. The all you can eat wings were also very dry. I gave it 3 stars because i fell in love with the place it is very romantic and the lake is just there ready for a dip ...its just a beautiful location.

Yelp
Fresh as it gets! As the name indicates, fish comes in from a local fisherman which the restaurant then prepares on a localized menu. Ideal setting on the lake within the camp grounds in Wollishofen. Rent a city bike (Zürirollt) for free and cruise to enjoy beer on the lake!

Yelp
lovely place basicly on the lake. unique location within a campground. very fresh food and fair pricing. also fun in winter when they set up a tent outside... go for a table inside close to the window. in summer you obviously want to sit outside....

Yelp
Extremely slow and bad service. We booked and waited 25 minutes to be seated. After one hour we were still waiting for our food. The staff was rude and unhelpful, mainly because they're severely under staffed. I will never come here again.

Yelp
Fried fresh fish from Zurich lake...the view on the lake is wonderful and the apetizers are good...it doesn't get five stars only because service is slow.
