We had a fantastic three days at Camping Funivia del Gran Sasso. Alessandra and Francois are wonderful hosts, and had great recommendations for the area. The facilities were clean, water was hot, and there was plenty of space for our rather large camper. The location of the campsite is perfect for exploring the Gran Sasso park, and was a tranquil and chill place to relax after a long day in the mountains. Thanks for a wonderful experience, and we hope to return next year!

We loved every minute of our stay here! We originally planned for just one night but we ended up staying a week🫰

Pros: Nice, dog friendly, shady campsite with small shop for basic groceries and a good location for mountain trekking. Owner is always at site and can help with planning for mountain treks. The price is very good for its location, but since it's a small camp it can get full quickly for camper vans, tents can always find a spot (cars need to be parked at entrance after unpacking). Cons: Toilets and showers could get an upgrade (coin showers sometimes don't work...).

Amazing campsite! The owner is a sweet and knowledgeable woman always available for advice or help of any kind. There's not much in the area but she makes up for it by allowing campers to order breakfast or fruits and vegetables from her, which she orders from the local bakery and farmers to be delivered the next morning! (The croissants and donuts were delicious and the fruits were absolutely amazing!) There's also a small house with an eating area and fully equipped kitchen that is available for all campers to use. The only down side was the bathrooms were tiny (when squatting at the toilet my head rested on the door) and there are many uneven steps to the bathrooms making it not so accessible to some. While my bf is visually impaired and nearly fell a few times, I also had a couple close calls though I see them well. In any case, I 100% recommend this campsite to anyone who wants to enjoy nature.

From here you can buy the ticket to go up the mountain to Cambo Imperatore using the car cable, it costs 9 Euro(two-way ticket). I think what the place is missing is gear shops where you can buy anything you need for hiking or climbing, just in case you forget something. But you actually don't need that much stuff to go up the mountain, because when you use the car cable to go there, you will be already up the mountain, and from there you can enjoying walking between mountains without doing too much effort. it's amazing trip with easy trail.

A bit old, but comfortable camping with full equipment and warm common space to sit and cook

This is a fantastic campsite: great location for mountain lovers, basic but has all the utilities that you need, helpfull staff, and super dog-friendly.
