Great site convenient to Freiburg centre. Full all the time so get there early in the day (reception closed 1-3). Wooded site on steep hillside most suitable for smaller vans. If you can, take a pitch adjacent to reception area. Great staff, whatever they are being paid, it's not enough. Restaurant right nextdoor, for us non German speakers perhaps a menu in English.

The campsite is well located, close to town and the river. The toilet block was clean and the showers were good. The campervan pitches are relatively small (the length of our van and a two meters wider). For me that did spoil the visit somewhat as the smell of cigarette smoke and frying sausages from nearby campers pervaded our van - but, you may be luckier than us. That said, the site was quiet at night and felt friendly. I do wish more campers considered the effects of smoking on neighbours. I am sure that in 20 years time campsites will be smoke free.

The service is good, the owners want you to be in an optimal state of relaxing. It is your vacation and by giving good service you feel welcome and without stress. It is a campsite to stay for a couple of days, not for weeks. It does not have a lot to offer regarding activities. Been here twice in three years, would go again. Schwarzwald has enough to offer to just get on the road and return to your tent later.

Pretty, well equipped campsite, with large showers and toilets, and an indoor room to eat/play games in. The site offers both tent and van pitches and is bike friendly. It is quite hilly there and the grass is very very long as it is on the outskirts of the forest, so I would recommend cooking/eating inside (although the hobs are quite outdated and slow). The staff were all very kind and communicative, even though we arrived just towards the end of checkin. There is even a small restaurant on site too.

Wow what great customer service...we rolled in and was shown directly to our plot within 1 min of arrival. Such a well run site like a machine. This is indeed a city stop but a very easy relaxed site 15min walk into town and spot on for touring the Black Forest region. Thanks again

For a start, Freiburg is an incredible city that's well worth the visit. The guy on reception greeted me like an old friend and I appreciated him, the team and how well they manage the site. The pitches are tight but you are visiting the city and the local area. The streams are stunning and the city prioritise walkers, then cyclists and finally cars. I could easily move to Freiburg. It's such a calm, historical and beautiful place where families are together, kids read in the park, people cool off in the rivers and parking 5k ebikes in the city feels perfectly safe (using common sense of course). Freiberg makes me dislike the UK even more. Back to the site. Clean, great location, kind people but if you want sprawling fields and a 2 acre pitch, it might not be for you. Book in advance, this place gets busy and I can see why. The location is superb for walkers and cyclists, just a quick walk from the centre.

We weren’t helped by the atrocious weather when we stayed. Staff were welcoming and efficient and the facilities were clean enough. Downside is that we were packed in like sardines and it was very muddy and crowded. On the plus side, close to City centre if you fancy walking.

Stayed two nights in an A frame hut. Paid extra for bedding. It was small but very inexpensive, and well worth the cost. It is a great resting place for those on a cycling trip (as I was), and people with tents and caravans. The site was very quiet, and it isn’t far to restaurants, a mall, and downtown. I plan on staying here again.
