Camping Island Bamberg

I have never experienced cleaner bathrooms: wow We stayed at the bulli places next to the water. Enjoyed that very much. Close to Bamberg, we went on bicycle. A flat ride on our Amsterdam bikes. Great place to stay and discover Bamberg. The campground serves Bamberg biers in their own beer garden ♥️

Fantastic site, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a good pitch. The site is very popular and busy but with a good vibe. The restaurant and bar providesgood food. Bamberg is a beautiful city, you can catch a bus into town from just outside the camp. Highly recommended. Cash only, but we are English.

Fantastic campsite. Really friendly staff that know what’s going on so make busy check ins smooth. Great beer garden next to the river, good food. Best sanitaires ever, except showers upstairs so some need to consider. Bread order available, best pretzels. Pitches small. Bus into town. Do contact to reserve, email, Google translate if needed. Just lovely ⭐ 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Location is excellent for cycling to Bamberg. However, the site is overcrowded. Washrooms and toilets are modern and clean. However, one would ask whether the screaming art work on the shower 🚿 block wall is inappropriately placed?

We stayed for 1 night with motorhome. Was here in 2019 also, and the camping is just the same. Nice people who work there, and its a " all you need camping". Good resturant. Under 20 minutes to the city center with bikes. If you come late its not always a space for you, have to order for minimum 2 nights.

It is what it is. It's not a place you'd book to go on holiday too. It's a truck stop for 1-2 nights with decent toilets and showers. We noticed the next morning so many people left. Also noticed there was no cleaning in the morning or I til at least noon. I think this is because the next people don't arrive til 3pm etc so what's the point is probably their view. Had a bit of frustration as a girl on the desk wrote a taxi number down and said call this and there will be no charge to return the the campsite from town. I double checked and she confirmed. Sounded amazing so we took the bus (bus stop literally by the gate) got into town. Had a couple drinks and searched for some food, then called the magic number. Came and collected us from the centre and it cost us €25. Next morning I spoke to the man at the desk and he seemed baffled this number had been written down for me and he explained they had a taxi number (different to what was given to me) that would bring you back for the price of a bus ticket. A few euros. He apologised but did seem genuinely baffled by this. We had booked for 3 nights but left after one. The kids didn't really like it and more did we. Did the trick for a stay in Bamberg. Place to park up with toilets and showers. Cost about €50 for the night. Plus the €35 for public transport into town and back

Lovely candidate with amazing facilities, in a stunning location for a swim in the river and a beer afterwards! Make sure you pre book breakfast bakery and dinner specials if you want them!
