Very pleasant campsite Plentiful and warm showers Clean facilities Brilliant pool and slide next door and free to campers Quiet Felt very safe Close to Amboise castle and amenities, as well as to Chateau du Clos Lucé, parc des mini chateaux, Chenonceau and château Gaillard Delicious bakery closeby (Boulangerie Lamotte) - absolutely worth the 5 minutes cycle (with the most delicious croissants, baguettes and cakes) - much better than the baked goods available from the Brasserie de l'Ile d'or, close to the campsite. I highly recommend for a stopover of a few days (for a longer stay I personally prefer quieter spots and the Loire is generally busy in the summer)

Great site very convenient for the town and chateau. Helpful, friendly staff. Approx a 4 hour drive to the ferry ports, so a good first/last location

Our first time staying in a municipal site and we loved it. Location is fantastic within walking distance of Amboise Town with beautiful chateau nearby. Lovely historic town with lots to do and see. Free WiFi, free use of municipal pool next door (which is lovely) sanitary blocks were grand. There is a big playground in the field next door too, kids loved it. Really good value €27/ night for campervan pitch with 2 adults & 2 children EHU. Pitch was spacious, mature trees but no hedges between. We will be back!

Lovely municipal campground that is really good value for money. For a tent, car, and 2 people, it was €16 per night...but that not only includes the campsite itself, but entry to the swimming pool next door for both people. Facilities are kept nice and clean by a dedicated cleaning team, and there are plenty of showers, refreshment cubicles, and toilets. Pitches are all large and well shaded. All in all, a great place!

This is a great site, located a stone's throw away from the centre of Amboise. The showers and toilets are generally clean, and there's sometimes a queue for them depending on the time of the day. The toilets in our block didn't have toilet seats or toilet paper. There's plenty to do from the campsite with a municipal swimming pool next door ( swimming shorts allowed) which is free to use for campers, crazy golf, hot air balloon rides, a big market in town on a Sunday, the castle, Da Vinci's house and all the lovely shops and restaurants in Amboise. We did a great canoe trip down the river on one of the days, which included a little pit stop at a riverside bar which was fab. All in all a great value campsite with plenty to do.

Beautiful location and lots to see and do around here. This is a large campsite and if you’re in a tent, there’s likely you will be some way from the toilets. It is well fenced and very safe, even though it’s close to town would recommend for solo Traveller’s .

Good camping site, pitches for MH are large and can be under trees or away from trees, recommended if raining as it's quieter on the roof. Shower facilities and toilets are good and clean. Bread can be ordered. About 20-30 minutes to walk into the town depending on your fitness.

Fantastic municipal campsite on an island in the Loire. Extremely good value. Onsite restaurant serves lovely food. Staff very helpful - thank you! Perfect for a cycle tour.
