Camping Municipal de Paimpont - Brocéliande

We were planning to stay a few days but we just couldn’t cope with the unclean stench in the toilets. There were lots of guests ( children on some sort of camping trip) and it just wasn’t enough to mop around twice a day with this volume of people. We told the owner who was surprised but he wouldn’t give us a refund. Very disappointing.

Lovely wooden cabin that looked much nicer in real life than in the pictures. Walking distance to town with bars, restaurants and bakery.

Lovely well run site in a very special area. Manager welcoming, good humoured and kind. Quiet. Spacious pitch. Had a good sleep. Recommended.

We made an error booking and enquired seconds after per email. No reaction whatsoever. Money was withdrawn, with the remark "great news, your booking has been confirmed" the day AFTER our false booking should have taken place. I understand booking policies, butat least a reaction from the owner would have been in place. One star for customer relations without even having stayed there, feel badly treated.

I think I was in the Aire De Paimpont rather than the municipal site, but anyway... On this one, you paid 6€ per 24 hour period for access to a level plot, either with hardstanding or grass accessed by hardstanding pathway. We were able to get on and off the grass even tho it was wet with a front wheel drive moho. The service area was great access for 2 moho's at one time! Complete with elsan point, fresh water and grey water waste grid the full width (suits UK and European vans equally! 😁). The fresh water connection had the larger screwed thread and was a tap rather than a timed button (much preferred when your water is at the far side!) Toilet facilities were obscurely in the stadium building with no signage, they were OK for a quick wash and toilet!) One big negative was the music and drumming that went on through the night... From an unknown location on a Saturday night... Big drums at 3am woke us all... Hopefully it was just one night in the year (24th July? Maybe Merlin's birthday) REMEMBER to keep your entry ticket, you need it to raise the barrier for exit at end of stay! 😁

I arrived at the campsite on the 25 of May in the early afternoon , the reception wa closed on account the lazy couple opperating it only work from 8.so to 12 .30 , I read a sign placed on the reception door instructing anyone who arrives after closing should simply set up camp and when the office opens the following day bring the number of the pitch you have used and pay the camp fees etc etc , so at about 3 pm ,I started to set up camp when Mr and Mrs Camp Commandant came slothing along with "reserved" signs and started placing them , one of which was put in the place I had decided to use , the attitued was one of "tough luck" and so I packed up and left ,but as I was leaving the French version of Jack Douglas and Patsy Rowlands of carry on fame remarked to eachother in French about les Anglais and started to snort with laughter in that low brow bretton manner ,and so I left .
