Camping Park - Orbitur Mira

First time in an Orbitur camping zone and it was lovely. Front desk people were great, gave great informations about the area and let us know where to read great bikes and where to go for dinner. Camping zone is nice and shower/public areas are clean in a daily basis. Only weaker point is the mini market + bar/restaurant, could have some improvements. Food was good.

We went with car and tent. It's a simple camping, the restrooms are clean, staff is super friendly and the location is great. Affordable also, would do again!

Location is quiet and a short walk to the beach. Mira beach has blue flag for many years and soft sand, but as others in the Atlantic coast can be windy. Regarding the park itself, the price tag is in my opinion too high for the quality and amenities available. Bungalow had constant breaks of electricity, the sewage system was not cleaned and the park itself is very bland, no shaded areas, no tables and no bbq places. There's no atmosphere in the park with just a few tents isolated. Portugal has to rethink the quality and prices for holiday goers as other EU countries are improving their offers with better quality and cheaper prices. An honorable mention to the couple from the bar, always friendly and cooked some very good dishes for the kids.

The location of the campsite is perfect because it's only a 5 minute walk to the beach and 20 minutes to the village. The sanitary facilities are a bit old but they were always clean. The restaurant which is right behind the reception is really good and the owners are extremely friendly. For the restaurant alone I would give 5 stars.👍🏼

We love this campsite...we have a caravan and awning so can't comment on the rooms or service. There's various sections, some for tents, some for campervans/caravans. At night it's so peaceful the only sounds are the crickets and the surf rolling onto the beach. The beach is a five to ten minutes walk away. The town of Priai de Mira is about five minutes cycle or 15-20 minutes walk away. You can walk into the town along a wooden path that runs along the top of the dunes. Another big plus is that there's always lashings of hot water for showers and washing up. Reception are very helpful if you need advice about things to do in the area. My advice is visit Priai de Costa Nova at the top of the peninsula driving/cycling there along the back road (go through Priai de Barra and turn left at a cross roads, go over the bridge towards the beach car park but take a sharp right after the bridge and keep on driving/cycling.

I needed to give 2 stars but basically my advice is to stay away from Orbitur campsites (seen more of them) and this one in particular. Let me explain: First you need to book in advance, okay, you see the pictures they provide and the So-so reviews. Couldn't be that bad you''ll think. Next you show up to a OK looking entrance/reception. The staff is nice and helpful (hence the 2 stars) and then... Then the nightmare begins: Buy some food at the minimarkt? See the image, nothing there, not even fresh bread... Use the toilet? Read the signs, your not allowed to flush the paper... Having a tent? You're directed to some fields without adequate trees/shade with either plain sand or really rough grass. Potentially piercing your tent.... Take a shower? You'll almost enter a biohazard area. Mold on the ceilings, rotten doorposts, not clean and outdated tiles/plumbing. Then take a dip in the pool? Uh, not existing, you'll need to walk to a adjacent Orbitur campsite (with the same derelict impression). Is it a quiet place? No, you'll hear the traffic. Is it a roomy place? Yes, because everybody left after a few days.... So you think I am exaggerating? Well I'm raised on a 45acre, 5 star, family owned, campsite and into basic camping since years. Look beyond the facade, this campsite is totally not worth it and Orbitur does not need to respond. This cannot be justified by them.

Very helpful staff and I'm sure during high season this place rocks! I was there off season and it was still nice enough. Large area for tents, bathrooms are clean and supply toilet paper and the toilets have seats - something of a luxury in Portuguese campsites

Bitterly disappointing! We thought that Orbitur were an up-market group. We turned up with a caravan and booked 3 nights mid May. We were surprised to find that Orbitur had designated this month peak season and that the bill with electricity car for two people was more than €34 a night. We found only the supermarket and bar not stocked and most of the touring pitches closed. The only open pitches were crammed together on an unshaded space seperated only by small tree stumps, outside of the wifi zone. The pitches are too small for caravan, sun awning & car. Not surprisingly Orbitur have a policy of pay upfront & no refunds, so after our stay we moved down the road to a delightful site at half the price - and with a swimming pool. I don't envisage stopping at another overpriced Orbitur site!
