We loved this site and will be back but whenever we are choosing a site we like to know what other people think so I always like to give a full overviee.
Firstly a very helpful receptionist at the campsite and we were able to choose our own pitch (we are in a camper van). The campground is pretty and set over 3 terraces with #1 being a mix of long term campers and touring pitches, #2 touring pitches and #3 wooden cabins but the terraces mean you can't actually see above or below. It's truly a very pleasant campsite. The pitches are quite small we saw some bigger motorhomes having to do many turns to get in and out but it can be done and they are worth it. At the weekend there are a lot of local families that come to stay in the long term caravans and so it can get a bit noisy in the evenings but it's just families enjoying themselves. During the week it was really quiet at night.
The facilities are on the lower level alongside multi use games area, swimming pool, bar supermarket and reception. The supermarket is really well stocked and reasonably priced too for the items we needed.
The facilities are a bit small and outdated but they include mens and women's toilets/showers, sinks for laundry and washing up sinks on the far side of the facility we used.- but there are other close to the bar. In the facility we used there are 2 toilets and 2 showers + 1 toilet/shower combined (family). The water pressure is great and the water is very hot that is until someone flushes the toilet or runs water from the tap and then it goes to very hot or very cold. I never saw soap in the women's toilet until my last evening so always had to take my own, but my husband said he always had soap in the mens toilet..
The dishwashing area was a bit dirty when we came to use it on our first night too, but ok after that and at least the water was really hot but slow, but only in the two of the four sinks, the other two have cold water only, so be aware of this at busy periods.
If you are like us and have a dog that doesn't like cats, it's difficult as there are a number on this site milling around but they are really no trouble and rather cute, and they didn't bother us.
The site is close to the lovely village El Berro where there are a couple of bars /restaurants and a really good bakery.
If you are in a bigger motorhome think about route you come up from, we came up via Alhama de Murcia , ctra Fuenta Alta, C Juan Bautista and in places it was a single track road with many switchbacks but very scenic and great in a VW camper van. But there are different routes you can take to match the size of your van.
What we really loved about this campsite was it's location in the national park. If you love the outdoors biking and hiking then this is definitely the place to come. We had some amazing hikes and it's beautiful scenery. We came in the spring (April) and the smells of rosemary and thyme are throughout. We will definitely be back to explore some more and look forward to being back at this campsite.
