Camping Solitudo

We had a great time at this campground and cannot understand the negative reviews.The staff was super friendly and helpful. It was incredibly easy to reach the Old town via Bus No.6. and we’ve never had such an amazing view from a campsite before. This price was right, we paid double near a National park at the last stay. The washrooms may not be the most modern, but they are certainly very clean. The Wifi was solid. There is a beach 10 minutes away by foot. We’ve camped in Canada and in a lot of Europe, and as it goes for “camping”, it’s definitely 4-5 stars. Don’t be discouraged by the negative reviews. Also, our family appreciated the affordable, automatic coffee machine outside of the reception

I don’t understand some of the reviewed the campsite is quite dated especially the toilet blocks and the seemingly abandoned pool in the center of D area. But the toilet blocks while dates and incredibly clean and are being cleaned constantly. The campsite is in a very good location if you want to visit Dubrovnik it’s the only one any where near the city

We didn’t find it too expensive by Dubrovnik standards but that may be because I think it was shoulder or low season. ||You can see that this use to be a place that the owner ?Valamar used to take pride in, but now it seems quite run down and they are currently having problems with the hot water in the facilities on the reception side of the road. ||The facilities are also looking a bit tired and they only have one facilities block on each side of the campground. This is nowhere near enough even in low season. ||The place needs a facelift.

Solitudo Sunny Camping by Valamar, near Dubrovnik, is a delightful spot for a camping trip, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me. The location is superb, with beautiful beach access and stunning Adriatic views. The facilities are modern and well-kept, creating a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The friendly staff and inviting atmosphere make it feel like a home away from home. However, there’s room for improvement in certain amenities or activities. Overall, it’s a great choice for a relaxing and enjoyable escape close to Dubrovnik.

On arrival at Solitudo the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. They advised us that there was a Euro 2024 football match that evening and that the beach bar adjoining zone D may get a bit noisy, so if we wanted to avoid that then we should take one of the non-sea facing pitches on the opposite side of the road. We decided to go onto the sea facing pitches in zone D and take our chances on the noise, and as it turned out it was OK. Toilet facilities and showers were a bit of a slog to get to up the 38 steps, and whilst they were clean, they were desperately in need of updating, and there needs to be more of them. Four toilet cubicles and two showers in the mens toilets isn't sufficient and there were often queues. There were also a few other areas of the site that looked a bit tired as if they were features used in the sites heyday some years ago....|Don't bother going to the Copacabana beach as they charge you for everything, and the Coral Beach is a bit soul less. We would recommend Solitude beach for good swimming, it's uncrowded and make sure you visit the excellent Ponat Beach bar.|Yes, we would go again, and hopefully by next time the toilet blocks will have been refurbished/updated.

Be careful, we are dealing with professional thieves. Depending on who you ask, you will not be offered the same price: whether on the phone, at reception or again at the reservations department. Just to camp with a small tent: 31€ then no it will be 55€ then 48€. In short, they make fun of you and indicate that prices fluctuate every day (visibly also during the day and depending on who you deal with). Finally, the lady at reception was incredibly rude, calling me a liar when I told her that I had been offered a price of €31/night, which was later confirmed. You don't call your customers liars when you do business on dishonesty. Conclusion: go elsewhere and give your money to a more respectful service.

Too far out of town. Facilities like pool was in a hotel. No bar or restaurant, which was also in a hotel. Beach was a 10 minute walk away. Very noisy road went through middle of campsite, we had to move pitch.

We wanted a campsite with easy access to Dubrovnik so despite reading poor reviews this ticked the boxes so went for it Reception team were very friendly n helpful and we chose a great pitch - we ended up doing 3 nights instead of 2 as Dubrovnik was so beautiful and buses ran every 15 mins from close to the site into the old town . There are parts of this site that are very neglected but the pitches and facilities block are great and very clean . There is a lovely walk to a great beach n bar from the site We enjoyed our stay and would return to use and visit Dubrovnik
