Really nice municipal site. Good set up for campervans with an easy to use service point. Good sized pitches with a range of shady and non shady pitches so make sure to choose which you prefer. Facilities were clean and plentiful if a little dated (fine by us but useful to know if it’s not your thing). Small, warm pool which the kids enjoyed. Small shop with fresh bread to order in the mornings. Laundry, WiFi and coffee machine were all welcome. Card machine wasn’t working when we went so do take cash - we had to drive to town to get cash when we were leaving which put us 45 minutes behind schedule to meet our train! Very inconvenient but I understand that card machines can be temperamental- maybe offer payment by bank transfer in this instance? It’s about a 1 mile walk to town - about half an hour as it’s a steep, hilly country walk. We enjoyed this but not suitable for everyone. Overall, a lovely stay, thank you!

After a long trip in France, we arrived at 19h . The office guy don't let us do the check in because we are too late. The camping should be open according to the ad. Impolite and inaccurate service....

Having been let down by another site we travelled here as the reviews were OK. The man on reception on arrival was rude and abrupt. No attempt to help us. Wouldn't let us use the toilet even though we explained our child was disabled.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Lovely clean site in a rural location. Lots of birds singing all day. Toilets and showers are clean and warm. The staff are friendly and helpful, Bruno is quite a character who likes to test your french. The town is close by car with lots of shops. I would recommend this site. Swimming pool is under construction. Very fast wifi.

This is a lovely, well maintained site, with a friendly welcome. The pitches weren't very big, but the site was quiet, so we didn't have a problem. The facilities were immaculate, and we could even borrow a clothes airer, a nice bonus when your only "airer" is the bike rack on the van! We wandered (a steep climb!) into town a couple of times, the return (downhill) bike ride is fun though! The Fete de la Musique was on, and that was a great evening, lots of good bands playing in town, with a real community atmosphere. Overall, a good site.

Nice campsite, good shady places and nice pool. Little shop with just everything you need. Friendly people. Clean washing facilities, just the toilet seats are missing. We just missed out on the pool, as it is only open from 11:00 to 19:00.

We recently spent seven nights at the Camping Municipal Sur Roche near Avallon and would happily recommend it to other caravaners and campers. The caravan pitches are a good size with electricity and water close by. We prefer to do our washing up and showering in our own facilities, so water near by is important to us. However there are good facilities on site, as well as a washing and drying machine (small extra cost) and clothes dryers and an ironing board available to borrow. Wifi is free. There is a small grocery shop, and pizza and fresh bread are available daily.||Avallon is a very interesting town, well worth a visit and a centre for exploring this part of Burgundy. Although we were there for a week, we found plenty to do in the area, but the site is also popular as an overnight stop.
