I couldn’t rate the hospitality from this campsite higher. As I’ve read from other reviews, the owners are very welcoming and could not have done more to help us. The campsite has set hours for check in, however you can notify if you are due to arrive after these hours. We noted on our reservation that we would be arriving at a certain time, but with traffic we ended up arriving almost an hour later. Despite being in the middle of a busy restaurant and bar service, one of the owners took the time to ensure we were happy with our pitch and did not rush us to check in until we were ready. In addition to that, we then had trouble with the power connection to our tent spot - the owner went to the lengths of digging through his assortment of adapters to ensure we had suitable power on our spot. The site is sited next to the Kinzig river, great for cooling down in after a hot day - just watch out for the current, even with it being shallow! We were there for 3 days. Everyone we met at the campsite was friendly, there were a few noisy pitches but everything went quite by 11pm. The toilets, washing room, and kitchen wash up areas were all reasonably - both clean and functional. The showers take €1 to operate. There’s also a small restaurant and biergarten on site, with a comprehensive menu and selection of local beers available. Overall the campsite is a great point to stop off at in the Black Forest being within short distance (either driving or walking) to a number of interesting walks and spots of the Black Forest. Note, the campsite is cash only.

This is a prime location for a campsite...right on the side of a small river and a five minute walk to the center of Schiltach. That paired with the two bridges it lies under as well as the church basically right next door, you just can't get much better. It's so charming. Pitches are reasonably sized and there's a restaurant on site with a nice little Biergarten outside it as well. Unfortunately, the only source of water is pretty much at the entrance of the campsite so if you're at the opposite end and need to fill up, it's a long walk. The owners are VERY kind, laid back, and helpful, especially when it came to getting in and out with our camper since it is a tight squeeze. I do have to say, though, that it somewhat feels like the owners favor the restaurant aspect of the site over the camping aspect. I only say that because the toilets (obviously also used by restaurant patrons) are spotlessly clean while the showers are....significantly less so. Lots of mold in corners and on the floor and it's not an enjoyable showering experience at all. And honestly, the fact that they charge a whole Euro for just four minutes of water in this environment is kind of disgraceful. Also, the women's showers are quite a bit higher than the men's so the water flow is sputtery and unpleasant. I actually just used the men's showers during our stay. I know they said they're planning renovations, but the showers REALLY need to be prioritized.

A nice, riverside location which would be fine in low season. However in August, far too many campers crammed together - our pitch was no more than 30sqm - it felt as if each pitch had been subdivided to ram in more customers. inadequate facilities (2 showers for women for which we had to pay an extra €1) and generally expensive (€30 for two ppl and a small van not including electricity).

Super friendly campsite, 5 minutes from the town. Plenty of space and a beautiful riverside location. We found it very relaxed and the staff very helpful. The facilities were clean and I cannot understand how someone said they were not. I always found them immaculate. I really studied them after reading this. I detected a slight discolouration on a small section of sealant in one shower due to condensation, which can’t be avoided really. All shower curtains were new. It’s really a fabulous place and we paid about €92 for 3 nights for 2 people in a small campervan. The beer garden is a great asset and we ate good pizzas there too. Just watch the opening hours! We were there from Sunday to Wednesday and the restaurant/ bar is closed on Tuesday, possibly the restaurant on Monday too, as are most of the restaurants in the village (except Sonne in the square. But bbqs are allowed and there’s a great shop about 300m outside the campsite (turn left) which is open until about 19.00 and has a great selection of wine, beers and some food, as well as charcoal and other unexpected things, even though it looks a bit like a garden centre from the outside. There’s loads to do within a few minutes- 4 interesting museums and of course Black Forest walks, straight from the site.

Small/ narrow stretched out camping along a nice river, however right next to a church, so every 15 minutes (06:00 - 23:00) you can "enjoy" the loud sound of the bells. Toilets and showers are not that great. And located only at the entrance. We decided to leave after 1 night.

Nice location but unfortunately price to value ratio is poor, especially when there's a free public motorhome park even closer to the centre of the town. This campsite costed two people with a camper 49eur for 24h, + electricity by meter, + showers by tokens. No grey water disposal, which meant additional cost elsewhere (staff advised to drop into to a street drainage...). Consider only if the public spot is full, as Schiltach is definitely worth a stop over.

Nice little site right next to the lovely town and river BUT access is VERY tight and steep, plus pitches are incredibly small. Even with a small caravan we'd probably not have been able to get on our pitch if it had been busy!. Height restrictions (2.6m) within the site for some pitches.

It's a nice campground along the river. There are several spots with electricity and some without. The town clock starts to chime at 06:00, so you may not be able to sleep thru it. WiFi is available near the office area only.
