My husband and I stayed 4 nights up at the Mountain Lodge and 3 nights at the Riverside Lodge. Our hope was for rustic beauty that respected the unique community and earlier generations of the Cochomo Valley and that offered a friendly, comfortable space to explore. Campo Aventura exceeded our expectations and left us with beautiful memories. Armin's careful organization and arrangements (communicating by email with us) before we arrived -- and then the hospitality of Mike and his crew once we were on property -- all of this made us feel like family. Both the Riverside Lodge and the high-country Mountain Lodge have fabulous staff and food. (I was not impressed with Chilean food during the early part of the trip, but Chefs Rosa and Tia Anita at Campo Av opened up a whole window on Chilean cuisine for us.) I was at first wondering if the increased popularity of the La Junta area would impact our stay. But Campo Aventura has done a great job of ensuring a quality experience in the midst of the growing number of visitors to the region. And if you like rustic trails and good adventure, the views and options surrounding the Mountain Lodge are top-notch. The hardest part for us was deciding whether we wanted to lounge around the lovely setting of the cabin grounds or venture out on another trail. We had just as much fun chatting and story-telling with the staff and other guests in the unique lodges -- which have the flavor of old Cochomo -- as we did hiking the rainforest trails, visiting the waterfalls, and swimming in the rivers. I can't wait to take my adult boys here some day!

Thank you all at Campo Aventura! Armin, Mike, Tia Anita, Ana, Horatio - you all made my trip a wonderful few days! CA was the perfect place to stay both before and after a horse-pack trip.|They have 2 comfortable rustic lodges in beautiful locations. Riverside Lodge had a cozy room and great food next to the Cochamo River. After a gorgeous day horse ride we arrived at the La Junta mountain lodge. It's a perfect base for hiking and climbing. The rustic lodges are spotlessly clean and the cooks made delicious meals. I loved the "homey" vibe. Mike is an outstanding on site manager and Armin answers all emails quickly. You'll have a memorable and relaxing time!

Visited in 2010 and spent 3 days at the Riverside Lodge. Very comfortable very relaxing and adventure all mixed into a great experience. Hiking in the hills above the river had great views and had the feeling of remoteness unique to Patagonia. Horse Riding was fun and Kurt's riding instructions were very helpful. Did not visit the Mountain Lodge, Pity as I am certain I missed a wonderful experience. Thanks to Armin's organization all went like clockwork. Would love to return someday and linger.

We had a wonderful family Christmas experience with Campo Aventura. From the moment we were collected from our hostel in Puerto Varas until we were dropped back there 5 days later we were completely looked after but in a very low key non prescriptive way. In fact Armin actually looked after us from my first email. She even arranged to book and pay for our bus tickets which we couldn't do from home be cuss we don't have Chilean credit cards. She happily answered all our questions and more.|Mike at the Riverside Lodge, Horatio and Anita at La Junta and everyone else we met all made us feel very welcome. We were fed exceptionally well by the wonderful Anita who produces delectable fresh bread and cakes and amazing meals on a simple wood burning range with no electricity to see by. |We loved white water rafting which got the whole trip off on a real high. |The horse trek was magical both in the rain on the way up and in the sun on the way back on Boxing Day. |The views at La Junta are breath taking and we were lucky enough the see condors on Christmas Day!|The accommodation is simple but just what we were hoping for. It was fantastic to have no electricity and no phone or Internet for the whole holiday period. Even our 14 and 16 year olds were perfectly happy reading, playing cards and chatting to us for once!|We met very few other people and had the sensation of being somewhere very special but still unexploited. It was like stepping back in time. |We feel very privileged to have had this experience and can't recommend campo aventura highly enough. |

Loved the Riverside place! Beautiful setting and comfortable rustic cabin. Mike is a great host and it was great talking with him. Great meals too! Poof and the kitties were very entertaining. Note that the cabins are a short walk from the parking lot. Great for folks setting out to trek up Cochamo We also stayed at the Mountain Lodge for 2 nights and it was wonderful. Rooms are small with warm comfortable beds. We had good conversation with other travelers at breakfast and dinner. They feed you well. Great experience with advetero campo! (Feb 2017).

My wife and I wanted to camp at Campo Aventura at La Junta but since there wasn't any space available, we decided to wait and camped out along the river at the Riverside Lodge. We set up our tent in a beautiful pasture overlooking the emerald colored Río Cochamó. Mike, the owner, was very accommodating and friendly. The horses and the dog were also fun to have around. Mike let us explore the grounds and even invited us to pick raspberries from his patch. After a few days he informed us that there was space up at La Junta and that he had set up a reservation. At La Junta, we camped in another gorgeous pasture surrounded by majestic granite mountains. It was truly paradise. Horacio, who looks after the Mountain Lodge, and his family were also very friendly and helpful. We ended up staying for three days and if we had more gas for our camping stove, we could have stayed longer.

We have stayed 2 nights in this gorgeous Place. Very isolated, does not offer many amenities. For example, there is no WiFi and there is barely phone reception. In our opinion, it was part of the charm! || || we stayed in the one isolated cabin that they have behind the lodge (called la casita). it really was a wonderful stay. We felt as we are staying in a little house in the prairie. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, gorgeous green area, horses, other animals, just Paradise.|| || The staff were helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and there are many restaurants not far away, about 10 minutes Drive, in town. It is also relatively close to the starting point of the La Junta trek.|| ||Overall, we loved this special and unique place and we wished we had a few more days there!

We (2 adults 2 kids, 13 and 10) stayed at Campo Aventura during October for 5 days and 4 nights - 2 nights at the riverside lodge and 2 nights up at the mountain lodge. Mike and the team organised everything for us - including a half day kayak to Cochamo from Ralun (and transfers from our hostel in Puerto Varas to the Kayak centre in Ensenada and from Cochamo to the riverside lodge and return to Puerto Varas by minivan). || ||We did the horse ride to the mountain lodge which was amazing, challenging without being dangerous accompanied by two guides (Mike had organised this as we had the kids to ensure we were well looked after) - the trip is incredible but the most spectacular part is the arrival at the mountain lodge - I was blown away by the scale and beauty of the location and the cosy, well crafted comfort of the lodge itself. ||||The food was incredibly tasty and hearty throughout (we're vegetarian so not the easiest to cater for), prepared by Ana and Tati and we were incredibly well looked after by Mike who is a generous and interesting host and Tati who was incredibly welcoming - all of the team are well organised, friendly and totally focused on you having a relaxing time and sharing their love for this amazing location. ||||Rooms at the riverside are very high standard and all have heaters if required. The lodge is really lovely and well kitted out - especially given how remote it is. Beds were comfortable and cosy. ||||The horses are really friendly, safe and well looked after by Pancho and the guys - I've little confidence with horses but I felt totally safe and also comfortable that the kids were safe, being well instructed when required (they needed less than me) - the experience has given me the encouragement to do more horseback tours in the future.||||The kids had the freedom to roam and the facilities and amenities allow for this - with wet weather gear available (if required) along with fishing gear and maps and information. We will be back I'm sure - my favourite holiday ever and I cannot recommend highly enough.
