I am a travel agency owner and I brought a group of guests from Turkey to stay at this hotel. While the staff and the view were pleasant and the hotel itself enjoyable, the presence of insects was overwhelming. My guests were unable to sleep throughout the night due to the large number of bugs, and the absence of proper insect screens is a serious oversight—completely unacceptable for a hotel of this level. I was deeply embarrassed in front of my guests. I will absolutely not consider staying here again in the future. In response to the hotel’s reply to my initial review: Thank you for your kind and thoughtful suggestions. However, one wonders — did the idea of using something as revolutionary as an insect screen (invented only a few centuries ago!) never cross your minds? As for our second group, we had no choice but to stay — the payment had already been made. But rest assured, this will not be our hotel of choice in the future. And just to clarify, what we encountered in room 1-2 was not a stray mosquito or two… it was more like a full-fledged swarm, as if they had decided to start a new colony right there.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful lake-view hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and kind, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The location is absolutely stunning – waking up to the view of the lake each morning was a dream. We loved the range of activities available: stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and canoeing on the calm waters were absolute highlights. After a day of adventure, relaxing on the comfortable sun loungers by the lake or enjoying the peaceful sauna was the perfect way to unwind. The hotel also offers great convenience, with on-site parking and a boat stop just a short walk away. From there, you can reach Lucerne in only 33 minutes by ferry – a scenic and relaxing way to explore the area. Everything about our experience was relaxing and rejuvenating. Whether you're looking for outdoor fun or quiet moments of peace, this hotel strikes the perfect balance. We can’t wait to come back!

The hotel is amazing especially if you have a lake view from your room but I requested the iron service and despite the confirmation, I never got it and they still wanted me to pay for it which I didn’t of course but my pint is that I requested this service super early and never got it at the end which is very disappointing when you have an event to attend. My stay started very well and ended with this issue which will be something I remember more than the positive and that’s not what you want when staying in a hotel.

Checked in and a bit of a kerfuffle as I had forgotten to book a twin room for my friend and I but they ended up giving us separate rooms saying we would have to share the following night. Ended up keeping our separate rooms for the following night at no extra costs which was much appreciated. We used it as a base for 2 day alpine pass driving trip and worked well. The views right on the lake were amazing as well. Would book again for next year.

Generally very nice stay thnx to the location and would love to stay again Pros: amazing view, nature, modern building, a few playgrounds, family friendly, blackout curtain to separate sitting area and bedroom (Rm 306), pvt beach, generally friendly staff, quiet despite weddings every 3 night we stayed Cons: No hot water in the morning and at night (only lukewarm water, thought was going to get cold), bad mobile connection, very slow hotel wifi, 50 min waiting time at the cafe at lunch, indoor kids area was catastrophic with toys everywhere when we first visited. But next time, it was tidy. I believe it is parents’ fault, not hotel’s... all the staff were friendly except for one staff prepping for a wedding. She groaned loudly at my 3 year old son when he accidentally blocked her way just one second, which was a sad experience… Beach area and pvt path around the lake often blocked for weddings, no controls at the beach area (some British families kept two round big rattan sofas for all day even though I saw them using it only once and was not used the entire day like the picture). A Chinese woman had breakfast with a white face mask on in restaurant…! It would have been nice if hotel staff asked her to respect restaurant etiquette. Note for next stay: rental electric bike available for kids, no bar at pvt beach (bring own drinks and snacks), BBQ available, room 306’s view partially blocked but away from the wedding noise, Italian restaurant was not very tasty, get taxi instead of UBER (no UBER!) after dinner in the town

Nice hotel, just renovated so everything looks new. The staff is kind. However, the parking must be improved : - it's really expensive, around 30 CHF per night. Same prize as a big city, but definitely not like a remote place such Weggis - the public transportation is low : only one bus per hour and the latest one is at 6 pm. It's impossible to have dinner in central Weggis or Lucerne So the hotel should provide : - a shuttle to central Weggis all day long or - a better price (free parking) for their guests

We had the misfortune of staying at this "Campus" hotel with its beautiful surroundings. The advert looked great, the benefit of additional space with an apartment, with all the facilities of the hotel included. ||||However, when we arrived at the hotel, the hotel had "Special Guests", the Italian Football team that were competing at the UEFA Euro 2025 soccer tournament. ||||This not only meant that we did not have access to the hotel facilities as promised, we didn't have access to the restaurant, sauna, the lakefront (with the loungers), gym. etc. In fact we weren't even allowed into the hotel ( Except the reception). When we did we were approached by some security guards asking us what we were doing. In fact all the doors to the hotel were locked with a sign saying they had Special guests and as a result the facilities were closed. This just left to a hotel that not only had no atmosphere, it just felt intimidating all the time. Not anything someone would want to experience for their "luxury" holiday.||||We only booked the hotel about 4-6 weeks out. So they would have certainly known that the Italian team were there, and that not only some facilities were closed, but all were. ||||When we complained... all we got from the management team was sone waffle that we were in the apartments, and that we had cooking facilities so what was the problem?, and offered a meagre 10% discount on our stay. ||||They seem to think that the apartments came with no requirement for the access to the hotel, and are somehow some cheap alternative to the hotel.... where customers should be treated as some sort of 3rd class customer. I have seen responses to other complaints on this mater where this is the statement made. However this is incorrect, so their staff do not understand the products being advertised on their website.||||Their website states the following:||||"Studios & Apartments - The studios and the apartments of the "Campus Village Hertenstein" not only offer you the space to express yourself, but also direct access to the hotel with all its advantages."||||When this was read out to them, they just ignored it and kept arguing the narrative that the above proves to be untrue. ||||We think that the way we were treated on this holiday was totally unacceptable. My understanding is that under Swiss law the hotel have an obligation to inform you prior when they come aware that any of the facilities advertised are to be closed during the stay. We received no such communication and it was far more than one facility impacted. ||||Had we been informed prior, or after, we would have cancelled and booked elsewhere. No amount of discount would have been acceptable, as cost was not the main driver of our booking. We believe the hotel team know that customers would not make a booking had they been informed and this is why they choose to keep it a secret. To me, this is disgraceful, deceptive and immoral behaviour.||||I suspect they hope to manage by offering a small discount. However, we ended up still paying in excess of €2.5k for 6 nights for something we did not want, and whilst they hotel seen their offer as a discount. we see that we were deceived into booking an offering we did not want and would not have booked at any price. Unsurprisingly, we are feeling very conned.||||As the hotel have no interest in reaching a sensible settlement ( or even apologise) We have contacted our credit card company to request a charge back, failing that we will be looking to secure a Section 75 refund. A formal complaint will not be sent in writing, as will their behaviour reported to the relevant Swiss authorities. ||||I also suggest that next time the hotel has the opportunity to host such special guests, that they either shut the hotel to all the other guests, or at worse, have the curtesy to let them know....forewarning them of the special measures in place, and making an offer of a discount for the inconvenience caused with the right to cancel should the discount not be acceptable. . The customer then can have the option of knowingly accepting... or cancelling.... As we would!

Had a really great stay at this wonderful hotel. The Location is perfect overlooking the lake and the scenery is amazing from the rooms. The exceptional staff especially Mario, Nikola & Lisa made the stay even better by providing a great vibe and atmosphere. I would definitely come to visit again as I came away totally relaxed.
