A meticulously restored building in one of the most picturesque villages in the region. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments with our own lounge, kitchen, dining area and balcony - which still worked out cheaper than any equivalently appointed hotel. Pedro was friendly and helpful throughout our stay and every recommendation he made (from walks to restaurants) was a winner. A hugely enjoyable stay and one which we would be happy to repeat…

If you want a relaxed vacation with a personal touch this is where to go. Only 30 min from Begur and most beaches, you find Can Bassa in the beautiful Empordá region. Family run place with the best breakfast buffé and lovely surroundings. Lots of other villages nearby. Both service and comfort is 5/5.

Simply sublime. I don't know how you could give this hotel anything other than 5 stars. I'd give it 6 if I could. It's genuinely one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Pedro and his family are warm, genuine and welcoming. As soon as you walk in you feel at home. It's on the edge of a small but beautiful village dating from around the 13th Century, surrounded by fields and rolling hills. The converted farmhouse makes for a lovely hotel with calm, peace and quiet both inside and in the lovely gardens. Our room was large and tastefully decorated. The bed was huge and the room was quiet - perfect for a great night's sleep. The honesty bar is a lovely touch and very fairly priced. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. And the countryside surrounding the hotel is just wonderfully calm. Sadly this was a flying trip but we will without a doubt be back and I cannot wait!

We recently stayed at this small boutique hotel, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I could tell that this place truly values quality and comfort. The decor was simply stunning—tastefully designed, with every detail thoughtfully chosen to create a classic yet cozy atmosphere. It was a joy to be surrounded by such beauty, nature and charm. The cleanliness was flawless. Everything was immaculate, from the room to the common areas. It felt so refreshing to see a small hotel maintain such high standards of hygiene. One of the standout features for me was the bathroom. The water pressure and heating were nothing short of perfect. After a long day of exploring, a hot shower with strong water pressure was exactly what I needed to unwind, and this hotel delivered on both fronts. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. Their hospitality made me feel welcome and well taken care of throughout my visit. This boutique hotel is a wonderful example of how small hotels can offer an exceptional, experience. Between the beautiful decor, spotless rooms, fantastic bathroom facilities, and outstanding service, it truly set the bar high for boutique stays. I’ll definitely be returning!

Worth exploring more in-land areas with this jewel hotel. Pedro is the warmest and most welcoming person. We booked more than last minute while on a (way too) long journey back home and despite late booking and arrival, we have been served with unrivalled service. Every is to perfection! From the perfectly decorated rooms, to amenities, trust-based bar, outstanding in every way. Thank you from all our family for welcoming us.

If you are into easy cycling with a new medieval village experience every 15 minutes you could not find a better place. Most of the cycling is off the main roads. Fifty percent was on rocky, gravel tracks which are relatively easy to navigate. TIP: Use GOOGLE MAPS. Just enter the next village as your destination (in cycle mode). Google knows every tiny farmer’s track. It would be difficult to navigate with map and signage only. TIP: Pedro’s upright, e-bikes (he has other options) for hire are perfect for the job.||The accomodation and hosts are great. The rooms are clean and quiet with stunning garden surrounds. Breakfast is good but cold options only. The ‘honesty bar’ Is well stocked and reasonably priced. All in all, a fantastic experience thank you Pedro and Isabella. Our three days at Can Bassa was one of our best European experiences. Highly recommended.||We had a very nice lunch at MAS POU in the village of Palau-Sator and a great dinner up the hill from Can Bassa at La Placa.
