We spent 4 nights in Can Riera. It's a bit hard to find as the hotel actually has two buildings in the same street and share the small desk in the building that also houses the restaurant. If you happy to find the second entrance you will find no-one there to welcome you: this should be improved. However, after the staff showed us our room it turned out to be nice and peaceful. If you are looking for extreme luxury this is not the pace to be, but the rooms are clean, have very good (!) air conditioning (I prefer a very chilly room to sleep in) and a small TV. The selection of international channels is limited, but ok. The breakfast is very nice and nothing beats to have your breakfast in the Mallorcan morning sun while hearing nothing but a few sheeps, some sheep bells and crickets. The pool is small but very clean and has a nice temperature. From the small town of Moscari you can easily reach the entire island on the same : Palma or Alcudia, just a 30/20 minuts drive. The cafe around the corner serves drinks at a very reasonable price but the adjacent restaurant was a bit of a disappointment. Not bad, but I expected more. ||If you're looking for a few days pitstop far away from the All-Inclusive tourist-traps: Can Riera won't disappoint you. But you definitely need to hire your own car!

The hotel is really cute and charming: beautiful large and comfortable rooms with the view on the olive trees and the mountains in the distance. The breakfast is really good and abundant. I cannot say the same for the restaurant. We had dinner yesterday and there is a 5 plate menu, the lady told us there was one fish plate and one duck plate without telling what type of fish and the preparation. When we asked what type of fish was she couldn't reply. The duck was served with one kilo of pineapple at the side that was simply too much for the amount of meat there was. I warmly recommend only for the hotel.

These days many hotels call themselves "boutique hotels" and raise the prices to reflect this status. It's nice to come across a real boutique hotel in a great location. Our room was in the building on the other side of the road. This had a bedroom, a sitting room and a patio with views across the farmland around Moscari. It was quite simply perfect.||||We booked dinner on the first night and were so impressed we decided to eat at the hotel all four days we were there. Each dinner was as special as the last and all different enough that it never got boring. No printed menu and no choice, just four different plates each night. I also have to mention the wine. Its all from Majorca, all excellent and very reasonably priced.||||The breakfast was also very good, with everything you'd want on the buffet. Even in October we had our breakfast on the outside terrace. A wonderful start to the day.||||The staff were all very friendly and helpful.||||The only thing I'd warn about is that this is a remote location. Moscari is very quiet although there are a couple of bars. It's quite a long drive into the town along narrow roads but our experience was that the hotel was worth the drive. The hotel and restaurant are right in the middle of the town so you can walk around after dinner if you want to.||||We almost never give anywhere five stars, but this hotel definitely deserves the top ranking.

We spent four days at this hotel in July, and were totally satisfied with everything. It's not too close to the sea (if you're interested in beaches), but very lovely, clean and looks completely new. The swimming pool is clean, the breakfast is very rich and the ladies serving it are very nice and helpful. ||There's a nice restaurant nearby (ask at the reception, Placa I believe was the name), serving mostly meat and pizzas. The owners are very kind and the prices are just right, but make sure you book the table - it was full every evening. ||We took some of the most beautiful pictures of our vacation at this hotel.. Would highly recommend it to everyone.

We stayed in one of the hotel's apartments in July. The apartment was very comfortable with excellent beds and quality facilities. It was air conditioned which was greatly appreciated as it was very hot. The hotel had 2 pools and a small private pool just for the apartment. It was idyllic set in the beautiful Mallorcan countryside. The staff were friendly and helpful and when I left a pair of trousers behind were so kind as to post them back to me. Very impressed! I would love to go back.... Definitely recommend!

We booked a double room in the sister hotel Ca'n Calco for 1 week , but on arrival we were upgraded to a superior double in Ca'n Riera, a short stroll away. We were immediately bowled over by our beautifully appointed room with modern furniture set in a spacious airy room which had lots of charm and original features intact. We also had a private terrace to sit out on and the most stunning views of orange groves .||||There is a delightful swimming pool area which is a very relaxing place to chill out.||||Breakfast is served in Ca'n Riera on the terrace and has a huge choice of options, including some divine pastries, great coffee machine also. Dinner is served in the restaurant at Ca'n Calco and the food is excellent. Great views of the mountains while eating dinner!||Staff at the hotel were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a blast here and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough to lovers of peace and tranquility.

Not bad, but not great. The positives: large, superior room; breakfast in the neighbouring hotel was good. However, the general maintenance of the hotel needs to improve. The room could use a re-paint for instance. In the morning I had to let the shower run for ten minutes before getting hot water (I hate wasting water like that). The pool was dirty and not cleaned the whole week we were there. Overall, the sister hotel looked way better maintained. Dinner was awful (see the restaurant review). All in all too expensive for what it is (I think we payed 150€ per night for the room with breakfast).

This could be such a lovely hotel, but little Can Calco seems to be steering itself! We have just returned from a weeks holiday..we have passed Can Calco many times, and thought we would treat ourselves this year. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We arrived on Sunday 8th Sept..no one was there to check us in, and after 1/2hr of waiting had to pop across to Can Rierra (sister hotel),where we found a cleaner, who came and showed us to our room. We had a 'superior' room, with a terrace, and we felt the only superior thing was the amazing view of the mountains. The planters on the terrace were strewn with cigarette ends, the bathroom was very 'tired', and we had to request the sink plughole be 'de- gunged'...not good!! We were not given any info regarding amenities, and indeed found it difficult to actually speak to the 'receptionist' as she seemed to 'flit' all over the place, and we found her mannerism most un welcoming! We would have liked to eat in the restaurant, but no menus were displayed..we appreciated the menu was different every day, but no one could advise us as to what the evenings menu was! We seemed to be continually aware of dogs behind the hotel barking..day and night, and we're woken at 4am each morning by the near neighbours cockerel. The cockerel we accept....the dogs were a pest! After having our hire car damaged on the road we parked in Can Rierra, but found the access to the car park severely rutted and dangerous...it really requires serious attention! On the positive side we could not fault the breakfast, and the lady that did our room was most helpful. This little hotel has so much potential, but no one seems to be at the helm. The staff all seem to 'multi task', but to us it just didn't work. It lacks personality and friendliness and overall we feel we paid a lot of money for a 'view'
