On a wander away from the tourist traps downtown we discovered this hidden local gem for dinner…. Absolutely amazing place that made us feel like a local. The warm greeting by the bartenders and waiters and the excellent food cannot be understated, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. One of the highlights of our trip to Barcelona

Great food and nice ambiance. Recommend the fresh Andalusian cod with romesco sauce! Also got the fried baby squid, escalvida ensalata with anchovies and the spicy sausage, honey, and brie Catalonia pizza. Great white wine too.

Superb, buzzy atmosphere, excellent (and very reasonably priced) food and friendly service! Absolutely loved the simplicity and vibe of this place. Highly recommended!

Little restaurant but great local joint for drinks and Tapas. Drinks are reasonably priced, beer is on the cheaper side, and Tapas is very good. Tried the patatas bravas, the croquettes and the caramelized onion and sausage pizza (more like a small flatbread). The croquettes variety was one of each flavor and it was great to try each one. The patatas were plentiful. While the pizza was small, they piled it with onions and sausage and actually glad it was small so that we didn't over eat. Noise can get loud for a small place but we could still talk. Good for a night out for two, a few friends to hang out or just get some Tapas. Definitely a local joint and glad that I found it.

We had a great experience at Can Codina. The restaurant has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and felt very authentic. Prices are reasonable. We spent just under €50 for two people including wine, which felt like good value for the quality. If you don’t have a reservation, it’s worth arriving just before 7 pm to make sure you get a table, as it filled up quickly when we were there on a weekday.

Walked pass and found this place crowded hence decided to give it a try the next day. It did not disappoint. The service was good. The food (veal) was good with the red wine. Order another dish (omelette with cod fish) stated on the board, not too bad, slight salty. But overall, it was a nice place. Go early if you want to grab a good seat.

Yelp
We decided to try Can Condina for lunch on a Tuesday (12:30pm). They weren't ready to serve food but was told the kitchen would be ready in 10 minutes. Didn't get busy till 1:15pm. The server was friendly and spoke English well. Interesting choice of house music bumping in the background. Daily weekday lunch special (12,90€) gets you a starter, main course, drink and dessert/coffee. Would have liked to try the pork cheek and pig trotter from the regular menu. - 2x Menú del dia (12,90€) - gazpacho was light. Lentils with chorizo was good, slightly salty. Breaded chicken with fries and tartar sauce was decent. Seabass with tomatoes was a whole fish; light on the seasoning but homey. For dessert, melon was refreshing, panna cotta was nothing special. - Vermut casa mariol - normally, a glass is 3,10€. Tasty olive was included. - Cava (3,00€) - our waiter never mentioned the extra charge until the bill came. Simple, wholesome flavours. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
Thank you Yelpers our first night in Barcelona hit a home run with this one. Maria was an awesome server. Very non touristy, local ambiance. We were a party of four and ate some amazing food here. Top marks to the suckling pig, the fried artichoke, potatoes bravos and most of all the grilled octopus which was great. Price was low for the quality of food. If we were staying longer we would be back. If we lived here it would be our local.

Yelp
Octopus and ribs here are really great. People were really cool. Everything here was straight up solid. Local Catalan food. Great place to go after hitting up the old fashioned bar which is rad as well.

Yelp
Went here with my wife and two little ones, 3 and 1. Was kind of busy but staff was very friendly and spoke English. Food was very fresh. The caprese was lovely as was everything else. Food came out quick, which is good if you are with hungry kids.

Yelp
Okay at best. 1. The service was incredibly poor, they only had one server for a packed restaurant. Feel badly for her -- we waited over an hour to get food 2. The food was subpar - burger had dry buns, meat tasted funky

Yelp
What a great surprise! We stumbled across this gem while looking for a place to have dinner on our first night in Barcelona. The place was packed and we enjoyed a beer while we waited for our table. Once seated, we ordered several croquettes, potatas bravas, calamari, roasted vegetables with goat cheese, and the traditional roasted suckling pig. The food came out in shifts and was perfectly timed. The croquettes were amazing- especially the squid ink ones! The calamari was the best calamari I have ever had, which is saying a lot considering it is one of my favorite dishes. The entire meal was delicious and the atmosphere was authentic and perfect.
