Can Dende

So I just got back from beautiful Barcelona - and I have to say this was one my favorite breakfast spots - I actually went twice - walked 2 miles one way - that is what I am talking about. First time I went I ordered 1. Cappuccino - which was the best one I had while staying in Barcelona 2. Eggs Benedict - with pulled pork which was amazing 3. Pancakes with fruit - this was good but not eat your heart out good 4. Fresh squeezed OJ - yum yum The service was excellent - very friendly - just wished I had a place like this in the states. The Cappuccino was so good my friend who arrived a couple days after me wanted to see for herself - so I went again - since we actually already had a little breakfast I only ordered 1. There awesome Cappuccino - that chocolate drizzled on top was what did it for me. 2. Avocado toast with a fried egg - so fresh and delicious 3. Another glass of fresh squeezed OJ - always good All I can say if this place was just around the corner from me in the states I would be a regular - Please look this place up if you are ever in Barcelona - you will not be disappointed.

Pulled Pork pancakes were amazing and the Crispy Chicken sandwich was great. Paired each dish with a Michelada and a Vodka Pink lemonade!

IG: @beourlifepath We visited Can Dende for brunch on a Saturday, just after opening, and got a great spot. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. We ordered the salty pancakes—one with avocado and the other with pulled pork and both were amazing! The portions were generous, the flavors were spot on, and the pricing was very reasonable. To top it off, the fresh orange juice was sweet and refreshing, first place we tried the delicious bombón: an expresso with condensed milk. Definitely a place worth coming back to for a delicious and satisfying brunch!

So tasty!! And great service which for me sells the deal. I had an issue with my order and not only they did it again but was FOC; this is putting the customer satisfaction at the centre. Oh, and did I say already that the food is really gnammy?

The food was really good and the staff was very friendly!! Highly recommended. The Spanish espresso was so good!

I had the salty pancakes with scrambled eggs and avocado and it was delicious (I would go back for these!). The matcha latte was ok, but a bit pricey.

The food was amazing and very appealing presentation. Very friendly service too . A small cafe bar and might have waiting times in peak hours. The Nutella and banana French toast was a little too hard for my knife to cut it. So 4 stars for food.

We were seated right away, the service was very good. The food was oh so delicious. We ordered different plates and they all tasted great. A couple that was with me came back the following day to eat there again! I was too hungry and my phone did not ear first, I forgot all about it.

Classic brunch fare. You won't find traditional Spanish food here but you will find a great cappuccino and eggs benny.

First time in Barcelona and no matter what time I wake up (today it was 1:30pm due to the time difference, lol), I always want a good breakfast/brunch. Well, I opened up Yelp and the first place to come up was Can Dendê. I couldn't even get to any other options because everything looked so good and the reviews were so positive! So, I had to try it out. It went way beyond my expectations. First, we ordered the fried green tomatoes. The salsa alone was incredible! Along with the cheese and the tomatoes, it was sublime and hands down the best fried green tomato I have ever tasted! Next, I had the savory pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. I was surprised that all the ingredients were combined together! Topped with arugula and creme fresh mixed within, I poured over some maple syrup and that's all she wrote...heavenly! We also got the Eggs Benedict and again, the fresh ingredients stood out and came through, especially the potatoes. We finished it off with their pink lemonade and a Bloody Mary and I can't say enough of this experience. I will be eating here again before my trip ends...thank you, Can Dendê!!!

Small little spot found thanks to my fellow Yelpers. Trendy, cute little spot serving up delicious food. I ordered the savory pancakes, they were delicious. The batter was fluffy on the inside with a golden crisp on the outside, topped with over easy eggs and arugula. Hubby had the salmon bagel shown in the picture. And my coffee was perfectly prepared.

Beautiful spot for brunch. Had the salmon bagel with waffle chips/fries. Made fresh and flavorful. Also had the savory pancakes with bacon. That was tasty too. Good service, prices and food. A great way to start your day in Barca...

Great breakfast spot in Barcelona. Has some random hours. So be sure to check before you head out. Staff was friendly and they had an English menu. Food was great. Would highly recommend!

We had high hopes of this place, but sadly it was just good, not great. Super friendly staff who were helpful and nice. The food was "ok", but each plate we got just could not deliver on the hype. I had a special of eggs Benedict with pulled pork, but it sadly fell flat and everything just competed with each other, leading to a "meh" plate. The pancakes were over cooked on one side, making them tough to chew and unpleasant. The omelet with scallions was very scalliony. The cappachinnos were covered in chocolate syrup, making them more a mock-chino. I could hardly tasted the coffee and the chocolate just overpowered everything. The ice tea and pink lemonade were good.

I visited Spain in the summer of '19. I stayed in Barcelona towards the end of my trip, in an apartment only a few blocks from here. The guy who rented me his spare room was an absolute Can Dende fanatic. "The french toast," he said, "is better than s*x." And honestly, he wasn't far off the mark. Absolutely superb.

Food was absolutely delicious. Went with my wife and we ordered 3 mains in order to try some variety. Ana had the Eggs Benedict and I had the Pulled Pork Pancakes. The extra plate was the Crispy Chicken Burger. The three of them were awesome, I fully endorse them. Went on a Sunday morning. There was a line and we queued for about 20 mins. The place is really small so not much seating available. The usual tip: Get there early or be ready to wait on busy Brunch hours. We are eager to return and try some other items on the menu. If the quality of the food is replayed and the other items are as good as the ones we had, I will gladly upgrade them to 5 stars.

Can Dendê is spectacularly good! I came here 3 times while in Barcelona. Everything is fresh and very original. The baristas are superb, mixing delicious drinks and coffees with a lot of flare. The food is scrumptious. I went for the simple pancakes with fruit and 2 fried eggs - both are great - and then finished it off with an amazing cappuccino. The sangria and other drinks are also incredible. I will miss this place when I leave!

There was a long wait but it was definitely worth it. I got a burger and the vodka lemonade. Both were delicious and the service was very good and pretty fast. We went on a Sunday at 2 and it was packed. I think the weekend are pretty crazy. Very worth it!

Missed my breakfast at the hotel and went there for brunch. Jerked pork benedict was amazing! The food overall is very good, but the place is too small, so the line is quite impressive. It is one of the few brunch places open on Sunday, so prepare to wait in the queue for a while.. Also, if you are a single person, you'll be seated at the counter, not the most pleasant place to sit. Even though, I give it 5 stars.

Very flavorful & reasonably priced brunch food options! Helpful (multi lingual) and happy staff! Found it nearby our hotel on first morning here & it was an easy decision to return the next day! Could likely be our favorite part of visiting Barcelona! Wanting to have stayed for longer to get the crispy chicken sandwich!

Found this place on Yelp with only 3 reviews but it was a 5min walk from the apartment I'm at so decided to go. It's on the corner - of a not so busy street but neighbor bustling neighborhoods. So it's got kind of a hipster vibe going on- but not subtle. Our waitress was very cool and spoke great English. Menu items looked great and the specials of the day were on an index card. It's a small but open space and constantly full. You can see all that's happening in the kitchen. The staff as whole is eager to help, friendly and suggestive. The Jack Russell mascot who meanders around waiting for someone to drop something is probably one of the funnier parts. No one is annoyed by him and he doesn't annoy anyone. The food was incredible - I haven't had a good brunch in a while. Balanced flavors that can fit any of your cravings-- savory or sweet. Can't remember the names of our meals, but I'll post pics.

Great brunch spot. Dende iced tea hit the spot, as did the fried green tomato dish, salsa was great. Also really enjoyed the benedict with ricotta, asked for ruffles fries instead of roast potatos. Staff are warm and friendly!

Arrived early on our trip to Barcelona and yelped places to grab brunch. Immediately Can Dendê came up as the closest restaurant. We decided to walk from our hotel & it was definitely worth the wait! The restaurant is small & cozy so they had a bit of a wait but the food was incredible! The hostess kept us informed of our turn in the line & once we sat down to eat, our food was brought out fast. So happy I found this little gem. My husband and I got omelettes with salad and shared the hand cut fries and plank cakes! They were truly divine. Highly recommended for fresh food with amazing taste. The staff is very warm and welcoming which just makes the experience worth the wait.

BREATH OF FRESH AIR.. (literally they have cute little outdoor tables which we love) but seriously they have the best brunch/breakfast menu! Great staff. Very friendly and busy. Worth the wait! Have a coffee outside it's so nice. We bring friends and family here when they come to visit us! They have lovely dishes. We have been back several times and it never disappoints. We like to try and go once a week! The caprese (my favorite!) fried chicken sandwich, savory pork pancakes and french toast were awesome!

I loved it oh so much! Service,food,ambiance - it has this amazing vibe, when you don't quite know what is it,but you feel so comfortable that you never want to leave. I have ordered poached eggs with salmon on English muffin, and these were the best poached eggs I had in Barcelona! I also really need to find out the recipe for their hollandaise sauce- it was sooo good, I almost ordered the second serving of it! I have also seen their burgers (with fried chicken or veal)- they did look good. And of course, like any place specialized in brunch, they have pancakes and french toasts - kitchen space is opened to public so you can see a cook grilling these beauties, and the smell of freshly baked pancakes dusted with sugar overfills the cafe and makes it even dreamier:-)) Take in mind - they are closed in August,so plan your visit in September.

I visited this lovely location back in July of this year. Absolutely amazing food. It's a nice local hole in the wall spot close to the major road Las Ramblas de Pallars in Barcelona, Spain. We all got some of everything from the menu but a must try is the French Toast and Pulled Pork Benedict

Great place, great food and very reasonable prices. Their aren't too many places in Barcelona that serve brunch fare. Their fried green tomatoes appetizer dish was so good that I was tempted to order a second one. Staff is friendly and very good at recommending dishes. I'll definitely return.

A must go if you are in Barcelona . The savory pancake was so delicious . We also ordered eggs Benedict's with pulled pork, regular pancake and tasty cappuccino and hot chocolate . Friendly service With the option of dining indoor or outside. Get there early so you can grab a seat under the umbrella . Great experience !

If you're in Barcelona you must check this place out for brunch. The service is amazing and each dish was exquisite. We had the French toast, eggs Benedict with pulled pork, English muffin and bagel sandwich. I'm not sure which one was best. Their drinks are delicious too. Their cafe con leche is like a cappuccino and their orange juice is fresh. Definitely recommend.

I loved the eggs Benedict and Bloody Mary! If I'm ever in Barcelona again, I will definitely go back. I would give this a 5 star however we waited a long time to be seated. It was only two of us and were about to be seated when a big group came in and we got bumped and had to wait yet again so they can be seated first. Next time I'll have to go with a big group so that we can be seated ASAP. Other than that, the food was great.

This is a great place for brunch but the place is very small and you'll most likely have to wait for a table. Food is good but the menu is very short and doesn't seem to change ever so if you've been here a few times you've tried everything pretty much. There's not many vegetarian options so keep that in mind. Cute little place for a nice brunch with friends but it's always crowded.

My favorite brunch place in Barcelona! You can't go wrong with any dish here - the pancake is fluffy, the French toast is soaked with flavor without being too soggy, the bagel is baked perfectly without being too hard or dry. In addition, the homemade pink lemonade and the peach iced tea have both nice presentation and taste! Can Dende is my go-to brunch place when I am by myself, girls' brunch date or friends visit me from abroad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ¡El mejor sitio para comer brunch en Barcelona! Food was amazing the service was great as well Staff was very polite with my poor attempt at remembering high school Spanish and politely started speaking English and said it was ok. She did seem to appreciate my effort. My husband and I split the yogurt with seasonal fruit granola and honey and the eggs Benedict The yogurt was delicious not the usual American over sweetened it was creamy and the fruit was apples, bananas, and fresh raspberries the honey added the perfect amount of sweetness and the granola was great for texture The eggs Benedict with bacon was amazing the egg was perfectly broached and the bacon add the perfect amount of smokiness and salt it was topped with diced green onion and arugula that only enhanced the flavor. The potatoes that accompanied the eggs were amazing and I am pretty picky about potatoes. They had the perfect crunch on the outside and were just lightly seasoned and on the inside the potato was perfect. The salad was nice lightly dressed and refreshing. The coffee was hot and great my husband had a latte which he enjoyed

Visiting from the states and yearning for fresh organic food. We had the eggs benedictions and the savory pancakes. Delicious fresh and friendly! Highly advise a visit if you are in the area. We had no wait and service in English was greatly appreciated!

Stayed at the Ibis hotel close by and found this place through Yelp. We took the eggs Benedict which were amazing. The staff was great, adjusting the umbrellas so you were sitting in in the shades and spoke English. Toilet were very clean :) Now I understand why there is a waiting line to eat here (luckily we didn't had to wait).. next time I'm in Barcelona I would come back to this place.

Went here for brunch on a rainy day. There was a bit of a wait but it wasn't too long and absolutely worth it. The menu was a mix of American/Spanish with items like pancakes and eggs Benedict with a bit of a twist to it. Breakfast for two was $36, so it's definitely more expensive than your normal European breakfast of a coffee & croissant but it was well worth it as we wanted to try their spin on our breakfast! The place is packed with a mixture of tourists and locals, and in a spot of town that doesn't seem to have anything else. We'd definitely visit again.

We sat down when the restaurant was nearly empty. The waiter took our drinks & food order fairly quickly. The lemonades that we ordered (which were tasty), came out pretty quickly too. The food on the other hand.......took approximately 50 minutes from the time that we ordered. No exaggeration. When the food came out, it was decent but subpar to the amount of time that it took. Our waiter towards the end was rude & sarcastic & never checked up on us once, while we looked pretty angry & frustrated. Overall, wouldn't recommend this place unless you're willing to wait about an hour for your food when there's many, many more better choices to pick from in Barcelona.

Brunch...the menu is simple, yet the flavors are complex. The food was fantastic. It was perfectly seasoned...I've never had fried Green tomatoes with such maturity and depth. Back home, I usually add salt to an over easy or poached egg...not necessary today. The staff is friendly and laid back. We're definitely coming back here before our trip is over.

Quite a good place for brunch in Barcelona. The tea cocktail was great, not too sweet but very tasty. We ordered eggs Benedict with bacon and eggs Benedict with pulled pork. The bacon was crunchy but too thin. Pulled pork was good.

Perfect breakfast! I had the pancakes, coffee and juice. The coffee was perfect, and The service was very good. Be here early to avoid waiting. It's worth it.

If you want to nearly die of starvation before getting your food, then come here. My friends and I came for brunch around 1 o'clock on a weekday, and the service was nothing short of awful. It took them about 50 minutes to bring out our food--we only got one plate each, so there was no reason for such a delay. Mind you, it wasn't even that busy when we initially arrived; half the seats were empty. The servers were quite awful as well; about 40 minutes in from ordering, we all looked understandably famished and annoyed, but no one cared. As for the food, we got French toast, the smoked salmon bagel, and the eggs Florentine. The food was completely average and not at all worth the wait. I honestly regret wasting so much time at such a sub-par place; in a city like Barcelona, there are much, much better options for brunch. Save yourselves.

We were a nice breakfast before we left Barcelona. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. It is a very cozy environment and friendly service. Food and drinks were served quickly. You can see the kitchen staff working and know how fresh everything is. My dad got the eggs Benedict and loved them! Among the 3 of us, we had orange juice, cappuccino, espresso, and cafe Americano....all were great. Nice presentation. If we weren't so full we would have had pancakes with Nutella . They looked fluffy and delicious. Wonderful service . Would go back in a heartbeat

The eggs Benedict here are phenomenal with a nice side of arugula. The manager, Nicholas and the entire staff are incredibly personable and offer quick service. This is definitely a popular place so be prepared to wait, but the food is worth it and once seated, there isn't much of a wait. Multiple people have said this is THE brunch place in Barcelona and it did not disappoint. If you're in the area, don't miss it

This may just be the best brunch I have ever had. We have been in Europe for 3 weeks and this meal is definitely in the top two. Amazingly fresh and delicious. The French toast is almost orgasmic.

Coming from the states with a very mix culture of food resources, this was the best breakfast I have ever had. The food was so great that I came back the next morning risking missing my flight. The service was great and everyone was amazing! Super nice people who always had a smile on their face and the owner from Brazil had the best energy (:
