"The Pride of Canadian Sport The world often thinks of Canada as the land that hockey built, but the truth is, Canada has a rich, diverse sports heritage that extends well beyond the stick and puck. Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, established in 1955 and opened at its new location in Calgary's Olympic Park in 2011, has enshrined more than 500 members, including Olympic skiers, curlers, swimmers, Paralympians, triathletes, and, of course, hockey players. The new hall features a number of interactive exhibits and proudly showcases some of Canada's best sport achievements."

Today was my first time to visit the place and I had a blast educating myself on Canadian sports legacy. As a basketball fanatic I was intrigued with Dr.James Naismith works that was on display. It was very informative for me. He was a genius and now it has been a global sports. I would absolutely recommend for families especially with kids to visit and learn the rich history of Canadian sports. How I wish I could be a hall of Famer too.

Very interesting and moving, see the very detailed and well made video at the beginning of the trip really put you in the mindset to want to see and hear about all these people, even as someone who's not super interested in sports. SAIT got us into a special tour of the behind the scenes areas so we got to see all the archived collections that haven't been seen by the public yet. Very interesting, and everybody that works there were very friendly and informative. This is a very cool non-profit organization that is doing their best with what they have and deserve all the recognition.

Great facilities and exhibits, not that big, but worth checking out. Be sure to watch the movie, it plays every 30 minutes. One question, why are the Howe and Orr jerseys from 2015?

It's pretty fun to go check out all the exhibits you can see how technology has changed and what people have influenced changed in the sport. All in all it's a huge place with a lot to learn

Honestly, I wanted to love this - I'd been waiting to come here since it opened. However, we were really disappointed. About 95% of the interactive exhibits were out of order, which made this really not a great place for our kids (age 3, 5 and 7). Thankfully I had a coupon to get my entire family in for $20 - even then it was a disappointing experience!

Yelp
Very cool interactive museum! I would def come on a weekday because there was absolutely no one there. We had the place to ourselves and got to play with all the interactive spots without the pressure of ppl waiting. It's a cheap way to kill time before a flight and you get to learn SO much about Canada's history with sports. We truly enjoyed our time here. It's def a one time thing!

Yelp
Now this is fun affair...but caveat...you have to enjoy sports, even if it's just the Olympics! I volunteered for a field trip for my kids class. Secretly I was very excited about this field trip since I love sports. We started the tour with a short movie featuring sports through the ages, triumphs, victories and even heartbreaking moments captured in time. Incredibly moving and you leave this movie feeling very proud to be Canadian. We had two wonderful tour guides walk us through the exhibits and share stores about some of the athletes. Did you know Rocket Richard was the first hockey player to score 50 goals in 50 games?! And there was a Riot named after him?! So much to see, so much to learn, so much to be grateful for. There are so many interactive exhibits which the kids loved. They had a blast and I left feeling like I wanted to return with the rest of the family as soon as possible as there was so much to be learned about sports history, the athletes and inspiration was everywhere. Definitely put this on your bucket list!

Yelp
Incredible place to visit! Affordable, family friendly, stroller and wheelchair accessible to all exhibits! The guest services explained everything perfectly, I think Colton, he was very welcoming. Can't wait to bring other family members here to enjoy the day!

Yelp
Sports lovers and Canadian patriots unite, as this Hall of Fame will bring you joy and fun! The good: Lots of memorabilia, dating as far as the early 1900's. Great intro movie (which you should see before visiting the hof). Completely bilingual. Entrance incredibly cheap for everything that is there. Covers most "Canadian successes". Just looks great. The bad: Lots of Olympic stuff, so if you are not a fan... The interactive games are not really interactive. Definitely worth a stop if you are a sport fan.

Yelp
This was a fantastic way to kill an hour or two on a rainy afternoon before our flight. Price is good, the exhibits well set up, and even if you don't care in the least about sports or Canada's athletes, it's a very fun place to visit. They have some pretty cool memorabilia like old uniforms, equipment, and medals. Everything is set up in a way that helps keep your attention and leads you from one thing to the next as you browse. But let's be realistic, the real reason to come here is the interactive spots. Tons of fun to be had throwing baseballs, kicking soccer balls, shooting hockey goals, trying out wheelchair sprints, and of course zombie dodgeball. I doubt this would have been a major stop or a must see on our trip, but as something to slip into otherwise unused hours? This place nails it.

Yelp
Really great place to visit! You shouldn't miss this place specially if you love sports. There are several interactive spots where you can have lots of fun... from touch-screen sport lessons to learn how to ski jump or skate jump, to interactive exhibits throwing basket balls, kicking the soccer ball, throwing the football, and shooting hockey pucks. You will have the opportunity to see a short video about Canadian Olympic athletes; you will leave the room feeling inspired and proud to be a Canadian. There are lots of memorabilia including uniforms, costumes, medals, hockey sticks, etc. The hockey section is a big one... you'll see videos from great hockey athletes obviously including Wayne Gretzky. You'll find fantastic Olympic and Paralympic galleries showing pictures, medals, inspirational quotes from Olympic athletes, etc. There is also a small exhibition with the Olympic mascots from most (if not all) of the Olympic games. And of course, a great display from 1988 when Calgary hosted the Winter Olympics. There is currently a special exhibition for Terry Fox (from July through December, 2016) Additionally to all of this, you can rent the facilities for movie premiers, press conferences, meetings and birthday parties. Have I said enough? Go and see this place for yourself and have a great time there!
