We had a very comfortable 3 night stay in this surprising little inn. We booked at the last minute due to accomodation cancellation in Jasper. Luc, the owner, was extremely helpful and informative. He gave us lots of tips about what to see. Field is a tiny village and there’s no grocery shop but you can easily get supplies in Lake Louise, about a 15- 20 minute drive away. There are only 2 places to eat out here but this apartment had a kitchen so we were happy to cook. We did eat at the Truffle Pig one evening and it was quite good. ( You can’t book there so you need to go early to get a table.) Our upstairs, 2 bedroom apartment was terrific. It had everything we needed and was well decorated. The heater was lovely on one cold night. Bedding was lovely! It may not look very enticing from the outside, but it’s a real surprise inside. Roomy and quiet and relaxing! This locale suited us as we liked the peaceful, less crowded surroundings. It’s certainly nothing like Banff! The train history intrigued us and we visited the Spiral tunnels which were fascinating. Nearby Emerald Lake and the glorious falls are well worth a look. Go and see the Natural Bridge too. Awesome!

Absolutely brilliant. Stayed with my wife and daughter for walking. Great place, great central location. Good sizes, comfortable mattresses. All amenities you need. But best of all is Luc for his hospitality. Highly recommended. Would love to return.

A great place to stay. The Inn is very well maintained, spacious, and clean.|The room decor is calming. Luke (sp?) is very pleasant and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable. The mini kitchen had everything you need. The location is perfect if you are wanting to spend time at Emerald Lake area, Wapta falls, or Natural bridges. The few trains did not bother me, I quite like the sound of a train. The area is very quiet and peaceful. We slept very well. We look forward to returning again. Thanks Luke!

This is a very small property (only three rooms!) with meticulous care for cleanliness and comfort. The bed was super comfortable. There is a small kitchen area (which is helpful because when we were there, there was only one restaurant in town-it's good but it's nice to be able to prepare your own!) and a gigantic bathroom, even a gas fireplace. Luc is a wonderful host with lots of ideas for things to do in the area.

Canadian Rockies Inn is a gem in Field. The suites are spacious, beautifully renovated and super clean. The bed is very comfortable and I had a great sleep. There is good hot water pressure and the towels are nice and fluffy. I got some great puppy snuggles with Mica and Titan as an added bonus. I highly recommend staying here and I will be back soon. Thanks for a great stay Luc!

My wife and I are fairly well traveled and rarely spend time in a hotel. We almost exclusively use small owner operated rentals. Luc and his lovely place are a standout. First Luc. What a great guy. He left a nice note on the front door for where we were staying and how to get in. He apologized for not being able to be there when we arrived. When we started moving stuff in he actually appeared from out back as he was just leaving. Even though he had things to do, he stopped, talked to us about the place, the area, how to get ahold of him, and he even got us some ice. Throughout our stay we bumped into him a couple times and he always had a smile on his face and things to do ready to suggest. The room itself was the cleanest and best maintained place we have stayed. We have been in 6 month old rentals that looked horrible compared to this. Everything was spotless and well put together. There is an electric fireplace as well as an electric heater in the bathroom so you can warm the area up more before a shower. The kitchen had a kettle, coffee maker, microwave, hot plate, and large mini fridge with a freezer section big enough for a bag of ice. The water was great (just as Luc had bragged about) and there were plenty of pans, utensils, flatware, etc. The bed was an amazing foam mattress that somehow both myself and wife like even though we are on opposite sides of the squishness scale. Field is a great location. Close to Banff NP and many of the great Yoho park hikes and locations. The town is very small but we were amazed by the quality of The Truffle Pig. A great restaurant run by friendly people. If you are looking for a tourist filled area with shopping and restaurants galore this will not work for you. But if you are looking for a nice small area with extremely friendly people to unwind in after a day of hiking you cannot go wrong here. Cost wise this was comparable to other places I looked into. The difference is I left here happy I gave my money to Luc. He earned every penny.

The suite/room I rented was exceptionally clean, the mini-kitchen had perfect supplies, and the bed was fantastic. The view was great and Luc was an excellent host. Great value as well. I highly recommend staying at CRI and will stay there again on my next ski trip to Lake Louise. Bonus, short walking distance to the awesome restaurant Truffle Pigs.

Exterior not as cute as some of the heritage buildings in Field but our accommodation was excellent. Bed VERY comfortable, kitchenette adequate to our needs, room and bathroom very spacious and clean. Luc was excellent host. ||Only disappointments were WIFI (slow, but this may just be geography) and TV (SAT TV and could not get it working, but this may have been us)||Adults only so very quiet (if you don't count the trains, which are one of the features of Field, so get used to it; it is not bad.)||Suggest you bring your own breakfast foods; not a lot of options in Field.

Yelp
Love this quaint little inn! Downstairs is the village gift shop, the owners' apartment and another guest suite. We stayed at the one upstairs suite. This inn is very clean and nice, complete with living room and kitchen stocked with all the cooking essentials. The rooms were perfect for our family of four and the beds were very warm and comfortable. I had the best rest here out of all the places we stayed during our week-long trek of Canada. They do not provide shampoo/conditioner or lotion, however, so don't forget to bring your own. Located in the tiny town of Fields, BC, nearby traveling spots include Lake Louise, Emerald Lake, Lake O'Hara and Oesa, Takakkaw Falls, and the Burgess Shale. Take advantage of all the outdoor activities as well! Hiking and canoeing are absolutely amazing in this area. Don't forget to write in the leather guestbook they have under the tv!
