Stayed at the Rex with four friends, all on a motorcycle trip. Booked in months before, all good. Arrive on the day and were told sorry there's no parking, you can park out in the street !!! Not overly happy with leaving four very expensive machines out on the street, next door to a park with homeless people camping in tents. No disrespect intended. The young lady at the counter, name similar to Chimni, ended up finding a park for us under the veranda in a secure park area. This was always available but they weren't going to allow us to park here until we pushed the issue. The young man behind the counter with his eyebrows shaved into patterns was very rude and spoke down to us the whole time. Didn't catch his name, but he seemed to think he didn't need to be polite to these motorcycle riders who were very polite and had been in the saddle for the last 7 hours. . After settling in we were having a drink in our room and called room service to supply us with a wine glass. Sure they said, come down to reception and pick it up!!! THOUGHT IT SAID ROOM SERVICE ON THE SPEED DIAL.
The Rex itself is very nice, in a great location and very comfortable. Just not overly happy with Mr eyebrows at reception. or the fact that we had nowhere to park. Four motorcycles can fit into one car park. Whilst parking there another bike rolled in and parked beside us in a car park area of his own. When asked how he managed that, he replied ":I just booked a room"
