Beautiful, clean venue with a wonderful vibe, and good selection of entertainment. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient, from greeting at entrance, to serving at bar, to seating by ushers. Well run.

Don't go if you are in any way claustrophobic. The seats are overly packed in and are not on enough of a raked floor. There's very little in the way of fresh air too, the production lets some theatrical smoke into the air so the "searchlight beams" can be seen before the show starts. They let people bring in booze so you can smell beer burps. I felt overwhelmed by the closeness of everyone and had to leave just before the show began. It seems like a terribly outdated venue. Before you even go in you can smell the toilets. What a waste of my money.....I really wanted to see 1984 😭

The booking staff member (Melisa, I believe) was not helpful. This is my first time visiting Canberra and I’ve never been to the Canberra Theatre before, so I asked for advice on choosing the best seats for my family. Instead of providing guidance, she repeatedly told me that it was “completely my preference” and "it's up to you." While I understand that, I was asking for her advice because she knows the theatre better than I do. She wasn’t able to give a straightforward answer and kept deflecting the question back to me. When I said I would think about it and thanked her for her time, she hung up before I did. Clearly just up for short & money-making transactions. Overall, it was a very disappointing level of customer service, especially considering the significant investment the government has made in this facility for the people of Canberra.

Public theatre with good staff and service. All seats provide good viewing, but seats do require overhaul, covers and new foam. Carpets are sad as is concrete paving before entrance and stairs. Ticket prices are fair for most events

Great very spacious clean and well put together venue will definitely be going back to future events held there i think it’s better going to a concert there then it is at a stadium

Visited recently to watch the Air Force Band - Victory in the Pacific 80th Anniversary Concert. It was excellent. The conductor, band, singers and MCs were wonderful. There was a film showing the horror and loss of war and the emotional ending of the war with images of celebrating in the streets. It was a very well done concert. Thank you. I hope peace will happen in many parts of the world.
