CANDEO HOTELS Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown

This hotel was great! The rooms were huge for japanese standards, we had a couch which was very comfortable in the evening to relax. The sento was great with a beautiful view of the mountains and city. The hotel itself does not have parking but has cheaper prices for hotel guests (1.200 Yen per night) which was convenient. The location of the hotel itself is right in the middle of chinatown so almost every sightseeing location is within walking distance or easy to reach via nearby tram or bus. We truly had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back 😊

Quite a lovely hotel, with clean and modern rooms. Even the yukata design looked and wore great.||The bed was a typical smallish double but was comfortable and we had a good night’s rest. There is a lounger next to the large windows which provide a good view of the city.||The wifi was strong and hot water was readily available. Location is great, with Chinatown and the covered walking streets nearby, with a wide variety of restaurants and shops.||The tram to the Atomic museum is just outside as well.||Parking is a tad difficult as there are lots of one way streets and Google maps led us astray a couple of times. Parking costs 1200 yen overnight. They also collect 200 yen per room per night.||The male onsen is popular and there are always guests in it. It is clean but the entrance and locker area does have an odd smell. Love the outdoor onsen, especially at night.

China town and other food places are near by, this hotel is fairly cheap and looks amazing for the price. Don’t book if you’re claustrophobic as the rooms are very small. There are minor visual damages around our room (like wallpaper peeling slightly in several places) but room overall looked great. The Onsens locker room is way too small for how many people are going in there day and night. Solid onsen, wish the water was slightly hotter.

The main entrance is located on a street that is usually a pedestrian zone. If you're driving, just park in the two designated parking structures where the hotel offers a special fixed daily rate.The rooftop spa is excellent!

No safe box or wardrobe in the rooms. However, the rooms are modern and clean with good amenities. It's far from the station and next to a casino. The restaurant doesn't offer lunch or dinner services, only breakfast. They make you take the amenities from the lobby like a buffet which feels odd.

Lobby is very modern and the reception speaks good English. Parking at the Times lot nearby is affordable. Amenities bar is good. Rooms themselves are OK. Good size and I really liked the window side couch area to recline on. However the bathrooms are very dated, and not inline with how modern the hotel looks from the exterior. Also their demand that cleaning needs to be performed by 9AM seems unreasonable to me. The public bath was a miss for me. They spent a lot of time advertising the public bath but the accessory facilities are largely ignored. The outdoor bath is nice and the indoor bath is OK. But the sauna does not have towels on the floors, or pads for the benches. There are no seats in the vanity area, which is small and located in the middle of a hallway. The locker space is narrow and there are no benches. The location itself is not bad. It is close to the Chinatown area, and there is a pharmacy right below it as well as two konbinis nearby. Hamanmachi shopping arcade is also close by. Overall, this hotel gets a lot of rave reviews from travellers but I found it to be just OK. They advertise deep discounts on their rooms but I think that is deceptive and it is just their normal pricing. The high amount of traffic in this hotel is a turnoff for me. Not my favorite hotel from my trip.

We love Candeo hotels and this location is perfect for visiting China town and very easy transit to the malls and other attractions in Nagasaki. The breakfast is great although it could use some more options but it's very convenient. It's always very clean and comfortable and the rooms are great size by Japanese standards.

Great central location, a short tram ride from the station and well placed for one busy day of sightseeing. Magic, to get up at dawn and take the elevator to the roof top baths, mostly deserted at 6am. Beds comfortable, breakfast on the 11th gave panoramic views of the harbour.
