Stayed for 4 nights in April 2025. The hotel is situated right above a Buddhist temple - which was a delight - in a new skyscraper, with the hotel lobby accessible through an elevator to street level. We walked into the lobby to see rows of suitcases, which is not a charming first impression. Check-in was smooth.
The room, however, was disappointing. Despite being clean, the room had a lot of dust, over every surface. Then we discovered the vent in the toilet room was COVERED in dust. We found this unacceptable and asked for a new room, despite having selected the room we booked specifically because it had large corner windows with sofas in front of them. This second room also had some dust, but not nearly as much. Due to the west-facing windows, the toilet room would become unbearably hot for the entire afternoon. The pajamas were nice, though, and it was fun to be in a room in the sky in a city as bustling and modern as Osaka. Great location, in the middle of Shinsaibashi, less than 5-min walk from the spectacular Dotonburi, Sankaku Park, and the Namba transport hub.
The public baths were large but unimpressive otherwise and didn't offer much of a view despite being on the roof. It was in the sauna of the female baths that we discovered that the dust in our first room was not an isolated problem. Indeed, there was dust on the glass window and wooden seats and walls of the sauna. Even if the sauna was cleaned regularly, as the rest of the baths seemed to be, the dust gave the impression that it was not. The hotel has a SERIOUS issue with its ventilation system, as a building that new and insulated should not have its interiors covered in dust.
All the staff were professional, accommodating, polite, and helpful and apologetic and understanding about the dust. Although they seemed rushed and stressed. Overall, the hotel felt cheap.
