A unique and great place! If you ever visit Woodstock you must visit this place with some serious perfect candles and a little funny ones!

Candlestock is pure magic. Walking in feels like stepping into a fairy tale — gnomes, enchanted candle houses, and bright spring colors make it feel like another world. The candles are true works of art, each one unique, with designs that spark the imagination. Don’t miss the legendary two-foot-tall candle — it’s like a glowing sculpture. A must-visit in Woodstock if you believe in a little everyday magic.

Interesting little shop. Very busy on this Memorial day weekend but worth checking out. By the way....the studio is not far away and there you can participate in a variety of wax work art ....very worth going.

Loved this candle shop - very cool place for gifts and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Located in Woodstock, Ny, very hippylike - felt like I was stepping back in time.

This place was so cute inside. There were so many things to look at and so many cute products. The man behind the counter was super friendly and enjoyable to chat with! I definitely recommend stopping in. They have lots of beeswax and soy options.

Candlestock is amazing! So many unique candles, including a cereal candle that looks and smells like cereal and milk bottle candles. Candle Mountain is amazing as well. A must visit.

Google
Super cute place!!! So many gorgeous candles and great gift options. Definitely nyc prices though, we found it very expensive. I really wanted to buy something but all the jar candles were $ 40 plus, a cute Woodstock small pillar was $20. Wish they would have had some simple jar candles that said Woodstock candle company prices around $20-$25 as we would have bought that. Even a votive was like $4. Got some cute little mushroom Buddha and succulent tea lights tho.

Google
The coolest place! Dogs are welcome inside, they have so many fun things to look at, and the drip statue is incredible. Parking is tough when the town is busy, but it's worth it!

Yelp
A visit to Candlestock on Tinker St in Woodstock, NY is mandatory if you love candles. This is one of the best shops to come to when you're in town to buy for your home or gifting. You can snag a candle jar from one of the several shops nearby, but if it's soy candle or beeswax selection you're looking for, Candlestock, is the name of the game. And there are literally dozens of scents to choose from. From pillar candles I've purchased for my home to several gift candles for work and family, Candlestock's service has always been fantastic in their fuzzy-warm setting. Prices range from as low as $10ish to upwards. I love creating an ambience at home with candles- but if it's gifting you also want, these folks will box your item and decorate it to the nines.

Yelp
Candlestock in Woodstock is a must-visit for candle lovers. The store is filled with unique candles and decorations, including a giant candle centerpiece. My girlfriend found a gnome candle she'll never burn, making it a perfect keepsake. A great spot to pick up something special from Woodstock.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is great! I love their unique decorations and the giant candle inside. They have such a vast selection of candles and gifts you'll find something for anyone. And everyone is friendly and helpful. This is where I discovered my favorite candle-the paddy wax library series specifically the Charles dickens scent. Anywhere else I've looked it's priced way higher than what I bought at Candlestock.

Yelp
This is such an incredible cute shop in Woodstock!! They have so many beautiful candles to give as gifts. I ordered online and they ship quickly!!
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
I saw a few things in the window that interested me and then I saw a sign that said 'all dogs who don't eat wax are welcome'. I just thought it was cute/funny so I decided to check it out. They have a lot of nice stuff for a moderate price. They even have a candle drip mountain in the store that was really cool to look at!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the most amazing store. You definitely need to come here if you go to Woodstock. They are the friendliest people have great prices, and they have amazing selection of candles and other things. Don't shortchange yourself come and check out candle stock.

Sherri H.

Yelp
Generous sized votive candles, which seem to be getting very hard to find these days. I believe this is a local business in Woodstock ,may be mistaken ,but I think so...anyway, I like doing business with a small business, keeps our country alive! Nice colors too, came promptly. If I ever get up to Woodstock, I'll go in and check them out, seems like a nice place from the photos

Yelp
If you love candles, you'll love Candlestock. This is one of my favorite shops in Woodstock, and I always make sure to swing by if I'm in the area. The main event is the giant candle in the center of the store - a HUGE mountain of wax drippings that has been growing for at least but likely far longer than a decade. Candlestock doesn't specialize in scented candles, but rather neutral candles in a variety of waxes, colors, and sizes - thousands of options in hundreds of shapes. On my most recent trip this past weekend, I found a candle that had almost a geode pastel pattern that I fell in love with. In the past I purchased beeswax candles, and some "bloody" Halloween candles that I'll never burn because they're just too cool. If you make it all the way to Woodstock, make sure to step into this candle boutique gem!

Yelp
Greatest candle store I've ever been in...ok, the list of candle stores I've actually been in is very short, but this place is awesome. No, it isn't full of aroma candles like Yankee Candle, but their drip candles are plentiful and there are tons of other candles. Some of the coolest sculpted candles here too. The star of the place is the drop candle that's been being built since 1969... No, I'm not turning into a hippie that's going to hang out in Woodstock, but when I AM up there I'm definitely getting more candles from here.
google avatar

Saroasha E.

Yelp
Very cute candle store! I got a bunch of floral tea lights and other candles from here. The staff is friendly and helpful. Glad I have something to take back to jersey that will remind me of Woodstock!

Yelp
Candles bring me so much dang joy. I'm very much a believer in the value of aromatherapy, so candles sporting my favorite scents (woody and/or spice notes) are bliss. Candlestock is a wonderland for the candle-obsessed. There are so many shapes, sizes and smells that you can't possibly take it all in on one visit. So we came back several times in a weekend. Their Halloween selections were up in mid-September and there were so many bewitching holders and candles (leaning more towards to the cute side than actual spell-binding candles. Go across the street for that). And that 50 year old enormous ever-burning candle (also what I'd consider to be a wax sculpture) in the middle of the store is incredible. I almost want to be a hippy when I'm in here. Ok, so that's a lie, but there's just really good vibes throughout the store. I walked out with about 80 dollars worth of candles (three candles). I know people think it's pricey but this ain't Yankee Candle (or Home Goods) OK? I think it's worth the splurge to support this venerable local institution.

Yelp
I love this place I have so many candles from here. I didn't get one this year sadly but that's more because my son was trying to eat the candles so we left lol. Definitely a place to check out.

Yelp
One of the coolest shops I've ever been in. As a huge candle lover, I knew I had to check this place out. What I loved the most was their large variety and selection- they had something for every price point and something for everyone. From taper candles in all the sizes and colors to unique tea lights to huge candles and small- they had it all. Unscented, scented, colored wax, natural wax... everything. I went with a bunch of the unique tea lights (pumpkins, scream, skulls, peace signs and flowers) as well as taper candles for my holders at home. I could have stayed all day to admire and smell every candle in the shop.

Yelp
Such a lovely shop! Staff was very friendly and went out of their way. We put together a nice lil gift box, was so special. I'll be back for more lil keepsakes and tokens of appreciation.

Yelp
If I could give this place more than five stars, you best believe I would!!!!!! If I had endless money, you best believe I would spend every cent in this store!! their unique style of candles really blew me so far away, you best believe i would still be looking for the hat that blew off my head!!! they also had a really awesome and colorful wax piece that made me feel like i was in a museum!! You best believe I would recommend this store to any and all candle fanatics like me, visiting Woodstock, NY!

Yelp
This place is seriously the coolest and best candle store east of the Mississippi (cause I've got a place in Sedona, AZ that I love). It's so kitschy and offers a huge selection of different candles, in all different shapes and sizes and colors. It also has the huge candle drippings mountain in the middle that was started decades ago. This is an absolute must stop if you're in Woodstock.
google avatar

Ryan F.

Yelp
As groovy candle stores go, this one takes the cake. Prepare to be whisked away into an enchanted mining-style enclave of colored wax, candles, and other cool gifts. As other reviewers note, many of the candles for sale here are unscented, and some are much better left as decorations. Their prices are good and there's plenty of selection for even the biggest connoisseurs.
google avatar

Lauren E.

Yelp
I cannot rave about this place enough and I cannot come here without spending at least $100. At this point I have too many candles and I don't know what to do with them or where to put them. It's seriously one of my favorite places earth. Yes I'm getting old.

Yelp
I came into Candlestock to buy a few cool gifts for some friends back home. I was expecting to be smacked in the face with candle scents as soon as I walked in but it wasn't anywhere as overpowering as I would have imagined. All I detected was wax. That's because most of the decorative candles aren't scented and those are the one's mainly on display. They do have some scented candles but those are confined to containers to keep the smell inside. I would be nice if there could be really nice decorative candles that are also scented but I didn't see any of those. Personally I usually only buy scented candles but those were very plain. I wonder if there's a reason for it but I didn't bother to ask. Some of these candles are so damn gorgeous I wouldn't even dare light them. They are just too pretty. The statue of candle drippings was most impressive. It's nearly up to the ceiling. I wonder what they are going to do when it's so big it doesn't fit in the store anymore. The prices are a little on the high side but it's really the craftsman ship and novelty that you are paying for. They do have some more plain lower priced options as well. You can get single candle sticks and mix and match and make your own assorted bag. The tea lights come in some nice scents. They do also have some cute ornament's and other tchotchke's. If you are looking for a piece of Woodstock to bring back home with you that you can place on your shelves to admire this would be the place. You will likely get a lot of compliments on it as well.

Yelp
Love the shop, amazing beautiful candles. Good place, good price, good people, good candles. You must check this candle shop out.

Yelp
Gift wrapping is , always. Their bayberry candles are pure, the employees are always helpful and knowledgeable, Beeswax pillars are fab. So many beeswax candle.

Yelp
This store is incredible. I went there on a recent trip to Woodstock and (candle)stocked up! I love that they have so many beeswax and soy candles. I think their prices are super reasonable for what they offer. I've also subsequently made two online orders, which arrived super fast (like within 2 or 3 days of ordering). It's a must-see if you're in Woodstock and, in my opinion, the best place for online orders of well-made, beautiful candles.

Yelp
Trippy man. Or in this case, drippy man. Candlestock is a must stop while in Woodstock. It kind of just brings you right back to the era. I mean, there's even a huge candle which has been burning non stop since those groovy days. Way cool and an obvious huge draw. They 'stock' any and every candle you can imagine and those you can't believe even exist. Every color, every method, every shape, every size. Definite a hoot to see it all, and a tad mind blowing too. The largest variety of candles I've ever seen! Prices are fair. Employees were helpful, but not overly so. You can tell they're used to people just stopping in to see the huge candle (which is located in the back room) and not actually purchase anything. Make your 'trip' to this region complete by stopping by Candlestock.

Yelp
Dana was amazing!! She gift wrapped everything beautifully and was SO sweet even when it was very busy and hectic.

Carrie H.

Yelp
They don't have any apparent occupancy restrictions during COVID. I was browsing there on a Sunday afternoon, and several groups of people came in at once. The sole employee in the store did nothing to try to keep people apart. I left.

Yelp
Amazing candle selection and cute little shop for gifts in Woodstock. There were all sorts of holiday candles - both for Christmas and Hanukkah - when I visited in December. They also had candles for menorahs for the approaching holiday. The sore also had specialty candles that were hand-painted by a local artist with a pretty backround and quote. The candles could also be customized with any quote or saying you want to give them a personal touch. Loved browsing here while I was in town. The prices are a bit steep, but good candles generally come with a higher price tag than you want to pay! Highly recommend stopping in, even if to just take a look.
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
Love this little shop! It's crazy overpriced (I can't pay $54 for a candle holder no matter how cool it looks) but fun to browse and get a small thing or two. I love the atmosphere and the giant drip candle is fascinating.

Yelp
A friend got me a candle from here for a housewarming gift. I'm glad she did! They make truly one of a kind, special, gifts/candles. You can place glowing words on them or various designs. Its not the kind of thing that you buy for yourself, it is a real treat, to get one of these as a gift. I have ended up giving countless numbers of them for engagement gifts, baby showers, and housewarmings, and the recipients are always so touched to receive something so unique and special. Highly recommend it!

Yelp
Interesting, I thought there would be more than 11 reviews. I've been coming to the Candlestock for years (about 15) and I always enjoy stopping in when I'm in Woodstock, the long time burning giant candle is a favorite (bet they could auction it off at Sotheby's) They have a great selection of candles and I always leave with at least one. If you want to see some out of this world candles go the the Renn Fair in Tuxedo Park NY, there is a guy from Texas that makes the best candles! https://www.facebook.com/royalcandlemaker Royal Candle Maker is great!
google avatar

Yelp
Really cute store, great home made candles. Very unique and hippie place- definitely a place to check out while in the area.
google avatar

Mr B.

Yelp
Never seen such a selection of wax available for purchase. Everything from handmade beeswax with natural beauty to funky and hippie like Woodstock mushrooms. There is a "wall of wax" in the store that is nearly a monument to funky.
google avatar

Yelp
I always go here first when ever i buy a unique gift that reflects Woodstock for the people that i stayed with while traveling or for birthdays. i love this shop and i love the owners. They could not be more helpful.

Yelp
Yelp review This is a historic, generational, boutique candle shop. One of a kind. There is a grand candle named Mt. Steph. that is the centerpiece of the store. As of 1969, the candle burns until this day in honor of of a great Local Culinary Chef and town favorite. When you walk in you will feel a very warm energy no pun intended. There are nooks and crannies and creaky, squeaky floors but the best thing of all is the aroma and nicknackery of everything.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm obsessed with the Russian Nun's Candles and purchase them every time I'm in town! They make a lovely gift and are received with great joy. Always the most fun shopping at your store...
google avatar

Yelp
What to say about this spot other than 20 years+ shopping hear and I still love walking in to the sights and smells! This was one fo my Favorite woodstock shops as a yound child and I still enjoy it today, huge selection of all things candles with the normal accompaniment of gifts and accessories. it has been almost a year but thought of it after reading another review. Service here was always magnificent and selection out of control!
google avatar

Yelp
hella candles. sweet owners. good place for mom gifts. especially if your mom is a hippie.
google avatar

Lena N.

Yelp
A VERY unique shop. Always great gifts for that difficult person on your list. Even if you didn't have a candle on your shopping list it's a must to visit. A beautiful store anytime of the year but during the holidays especially.
google avatar

Shannon L.

Yelp
Completely agree with review from Ben. Fantastic candles. beautiful shop. We took pictures of the candle that been burning for 40 years and they didn't mind at all. Its truly a sight. This place is a bit pricey... but you get what you pay for. Hand crafted candles from people who are passionate about their business. This place is a real gem.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Love stopping by Candlestock when I'm in Woodstock! The candles make great gifts and they are ALL very unique.
google avatar

Bryan R.

Yelp
Pretty cool place but a little expensive. Still this location is worth going into if for nothing else the tourist aspect of this place. There is a candle that is 50 years of candle drippings that I have stopped in to see a couple of times in the last 20 years.

Sylvia I.

Yelp
I went into candlestock mid-afternoon on a busy shopping day in Woodstock. There were two employees in the shop. They were so absorbed in their 'business' that they couldn't even say 'hello' much less ask 'may I help you'. Upon inspection of the wares inside this shop, I can report there is absolutely nothing special about it. Don't waste your time. Even if you want to buy something, no one will have the presence of mind to help you. No wonder the shop was empty.

Albert G.

Yelp
Great products, quick delivery. I could not recommend a better company for ordering. I am intrigued however, about Danish style candles and hope to purchase some when they are in stock. I would only request a darker color variety for drip candles. Otherwise, shop here.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
the stock is sensational and eclectic enough to invite browsing,. the 16 candles i bought were perfect and made my thanksgiving table glow elegantly
