We had a very beautiful evening here with the Fotona family celebrating its 60th anniversary. Surprised to have witnessed the Slovenian president giving speech at this special occasion. A very unforgettable memory!

Amazing exhibition space! I went to see the Nick Brandt Exhibition late one afternoon and the place was deserted but still an impressive building. (The exhibition was good too - if you are in Ljubljana before it ends in September, go and have a look)

I attended my sister’s wedding on the 6th floor of Cankarjev dom, and it was an unforgettable experience. The terrace is simply stunning – on one side you can watch the sun setting, while on the other you have a perfect view of the old Ljubljana castle. The celebration lasted until dawn, and the atmosphere was truly one of a kind.

Opened in 1980, this is Slovenia’s largest cultural and arts centre, serving as a key venue for performing arts, exhibitions, film, literature, academic events, and international conferences. It stands as one of Ljubljana’s foremost hubs of culture and intellectual life. The centre is named after Ivan Cankar, Slovenia’s national writer and prominent public intellectual. Major national ensembles—including the Slovenian National Theatre, the Philharmonic, and the Ballet—frequently perform here. It also hosts high-profile international events such as the Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFe), literary festivals, academic symposia, and EU-level political gatherings.

It was absolutely amazing! We came from Austria to watch the Tenebrae Choir! What a great concert it was!
