We had an amazing day at Canyon de la Vieja! Our adventure included horseback riding, tubing down the Colorado River, ziplining, and finishing it all off with a relaxing soak in the hot springs. Our guides, Alex and his friend, were incredibly friendly and hardworking. They went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and having fun—helping us whenever we got stuck tubing, making sure we got on and off the horses safely, and keeping everything smooth during ziplining. One unforgettable moment was when a European tourist lost both her and her son’s phones in the river after their waterproof case snapped off. Alex didn’t hesitate—he spent a great deal of time searching the river until he found it. The joy on everyone’s faces when he returned with the phones was priceless, and it showed how much he genuinely cared. The tubing and ziplining through the canyon were absolutely exhilarating, and ending the day with a swim in the hot springs was the perfect way to relax. Highly recommend this tour—it was one of the highlights of our trip!

The meals we had were breakfast and dinner and they were super and staff friendly. The big pool and spa centre is super too. However, what was not nice was the Receptionist's attitude about the pool towels. As we had been swimming these were soaking wet so instead of bringing them to Reception we laid them out to dry on the terrace chairs. We actually told one of the chambermaids we were doing this. When we got to reception to check out the receptionist was very surly and made us feel we were trying to steal their poor quality pool towels. The used towels that were brought to Reception and were still damp were put into a pile to apparently give to the next guests without being dried. We were unable to leave until she had checked all the towels were there.it felt super petty particularly when we are a small group who have paid a lot of money to tour Costa Rica. In addition the double rooms are super small and you can literally hear everything from the next room. However, meals, pool and spa are lovely.

The facilities are excellent as are the activities such as tubing (recommended). The food is very good and what lovely staff. The rooms (and bed) however are much too small and the walls paper thin. The other problem is reception. They insist we bring back beach towels at checkout which resulted in an infuriating and petty delay.

Was a welcome change from the hotel that ChatGPT referred is to originally which was an hour and forty minutes from where we wanted to be. Everything was easily accessible located between Liberia and Rincon de La Vieja (only -15 minutes from the park). Also located on a beautiful river where you can dive off cliffs into the river. Food was good and the buffet was amazing.

Exactly what you would expect from a hotel in the Costa Rican rainforest. The pool, pool bar, and restaurant were all well maintained. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. We were here on a student tour so it was very crowded with students. The buffet dinners were surprisingly very tasty and breakfast had a nice view of the river. The AC units worked very well and bathroom/shower was decent for this type of hotel stay. Don't expect luxury, but it was a nice place to stay for a few days on tour.

It is in a stunning jungle forest with hot springs, spa, pool and bar, restaurants, tubing, zip lining and horseback riding, with breakfast included. The staff ensured the safety of everyone and we had a fantastic time! This lodge is perfectly located close to the Liberia airport. I look forward to returning!

Great location! Everything at one place and the staff was amazing. We did zipline, horses, tubing and thermal pools. We'll be back next year.

We only took advantage of the white-water rafting, and had a great time! We went in 2-person inflatable kayaks (the guide and guest). We went during low water season, but it was still loads of fun. Our guides were very nice and accommodating. The tour normally lasts 1.5 hours and very scenic. We stopped at a swimming hole with a rope swing which was refreshing. If you don’t want to raft, there is also a tubing option that covers much of the same route. There is horseback riding and zip lining that goes through the canyon over the river. Afterwards we had a good buffet-style lunch with healthy options. There are accommodations, but I can’t comment on those.
