"Cañón de la Zorra (Fox Canyon) and its 40-foot waterfall are just north of Santiago, a sleepy yet charming colonial-style town 35 miles north of San José del Cabo, across the Tropic of Cancer. The hike to the waterfall takes you through oases with endemic plants and gives you glimpses into a Baja outback that existed before the region became a popular tourism destination. There’s a great area for swimming as you admire the waterfall and multicolored granite cliffs. Tip: On your trip back to Los Cabos, stop by the Agua Caliente, Santa Rita, and El Chorro hot springs about five miles south of Santiago."

Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere. Nice hike to the waterfall. Lots of animals around and it was a nice, cool swim at the base. Bring water or drinks. Nice place to chill for an afternoon.

Surprising little desert oasis! Fun to swim under the waterfall and see the animals nestled way out in the desert. Worth the short drive outside Santiago 👍🏼

Beautiful spot, it’s $12.50USD to get in when I went. Warm water, and they even have cool animals at the entrance like a peacock and box turtles!

Great canyon with some moderate to difficult paths. It is one of the few local places where you can go swimming in a river and being under the waterfall is awesome.

Wonderful experience! The hike to the waterfall from the ecological center is not too long but it is very steep. Probably a 20 minute walk down with a series of long steps carved into the cliff. The water is cool and unbelievably clear. After swimming and exploring a while we walked up the steps and over to the longer trail that circles up to the pools that feed into the waterfall. We had this area all to ourselves. It was such a peaceful oasis. The trail to the pools is covered in loose sand/rock so you may slide a little. Just remember to keep your hands at your side and don't grab onto a cactus when you start to slide. Lesson learned the hard way.

Ah! Such an enjoyable hike to this place which is also known as fox canyon. If you want to enjoy some quiet time then recommend reaching at around 11am on a weekday. The hike needs good hiking boots and it can be really sunny so carry a hat and load up on water and sunscreen. We saw some folks jump into the deeper end and it looked super fun after a hot hike to the spot. Pristine water, take a dip and have little fish come tickle your feet! We came here with a guide in a jeep and I see the need for one. If you can get through a guide, that’s likely ideal!

This was the highlight of our Cabo trip. Getting there: It’s 44 K from SJDC, take the Santiago exit, after crossing the arroyo take an immediate right, the next interception at the signs take the middle dirt road, at the top of the climb go .2 miles and take another right at the next set of signs, follow the road past the second cattle-guard and take an immediate right, and follow it till you get to the parking area. It’s doable in a car with two hill’s that you will want a mild run on the way back. The hike: after paying admission ($8 or $150 pesos) we then hiked to the lower pool at the falls then back to the upper pools to above the falls . All together it was 1.5 miles and 450 feet of climbing and descending each way. The experience: The water was refreshing and the scenery was amazing.
