A noteworthy Romanesque abbey, although not the most stunning in its genre. Its interiors are small and quite empty, with the notable exception of the Cross of Vilaltebran, a highly decorated XII century piece of craftsmanship.
The church became fortified following a license obtained from king Pere III in 1377. All around it you find a small medieval borough, originally enclosed within the abbey system itself, with traces of the original fortifications. The nearby abbot palace from the 1300s is also noteworthy, although it was closed when I visited.
