Canopy Park

Great part for kids or for exercising! They must’ve had to build this park because they built a huge high-rise next to it. Imagine there was a deal they made with the city to be able to build this. The park for kids is great the adult portion of the park is nice big field. You could kick a football or soccer ball around whatever

Canopy Park is thoughtfully designed, feeling artificially landscaped where it counts but natural where it matters most, and it genuinely makes the most of the space it’s been given. Take a walk, go for a jog, stretch out in the sun, find some shade, or even come back at night and look up at the stars. It’s flexible, inviting, and a great example of how urban green space can really work.

Stunning park with different areas and paths. Benches in the shade and a playground that is definitely unique. The slides are nice but geared towards 5-12 year old kids and not built to climb easily. Parking was hard to find but there is a shopping center with a publix right around the block that has good parking.

This park is terrible. It should be called Hot Metal Park instead. There is no shade, by 9 a.m. everything is hot and will burn you. Drive by the park and see how many kids are playing, probably none. The developer next door must have had that in mind so that people do not mingle in the park next to his building.

Before reviewing the partially completed park between 6th and 9th Street right on West Avenue, 8 must disclose that the name of the park is not yet official. In fact, this August 23rd during our primary elections, Miami Beach voters will have the opportunity to approve or reject the proposed name for our newest park in Miami Beach. The park cqme about as a result of an agreement between the City of Miami Beach and the Developer of the under construction high rise to rise high up at the entrance to Miami Beach via I-395 and Alton Road. The idea rose up as part of the City of Miami Beach resilient efforts to address global warming and address sea level rising. I will continue to update the public in general as to the opening, hours, and features of our newest park.
