"At this bird-lover’s paradise, guests have reported seeing Blue Cotingas, Green Shrike-Vireos, and any number of native Panamanian bird species just outside their bedroom window. Their luck is in part due to Canopy Tower’s unorthodox location in a converted radar tower, right in the middle of the lowland rainforest of Soberanía National Park. Accommodations span two floors at either 18 feet (mid-canopy level) or 28 feet (canopy level), and range from basic yet adequate single rooms that share a bathroom, to a large suite with a private balcony. The lush rainforest setting also means there’s plenty more than birds on view—howler and tamarin monkeys, two- and three-toed sloths, nine-banded armadillos, and white-tailed deer are frequently seen from the tower, plus the stargazing is phenomenal. Guests can choose from day rates or all-inclusive birding and nature packages, the most comprehensive of which is a 20-night exploration of the surrounding area."

An extraordinary place to stay in this refurbished radar tower, with fantastic views over the canopy of the forest. We had nightly visits from the kinkajou and night monkeys as well as being able to see the Jeffries tamarinds and howler monkeys. The birds were wonderful. There were so many places to visit from the tower snd the guides were passionate and have incredible knowledge and eyesight, spotting so many things for us to see. Food was delicious and varied and staff took great effort to make sure everyone was comfortable and had what they needed. |The tower is not too far from the city and the southern locks, so as well as wildlife you have cultural activities and nature parks you thanks to Tatiana, the manager. Jorge and Eric, our main guides and Igue who were all so knowledgeable and helpful.

The Canopy Family sites are a dream come true. Beautiful nature, excellent food, guides who can tell you everything you want to know, and it is very SAFE. I have been to all 3 Canopy properties and they are experts in customer service. Go NOW!

I did an all-inclusive tour with the Canopy Family, which included 3 nights at the tower. The tower is located in a national park, so you're staying in the middle of the forest, which provides for a very cool experience. Rooms are located on the second and third levels of the tower, and a communal lounging/dining area is on the fourth level. During the day, you're able to go all the way to the outdoor platform at the top, which is a great place to bird and look for other wildlife in the canopy. The tower doesn't have air conditioning, but the rooms are equipped with ceiling fans. The rooms themselves are pretty basic, but you don't come to Canopy Tower for the rooms! The birding tours and guides were excellent, and the staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend a visit if you're a birder.

Wonderful views of the Rainforest canopy. The Canopy Tower is a converted air force communications tower. It is a terrific place to stay for those who love wildlife. All the rooms look out on the forest and he bird guides are spectacularly good and keen to show both birds and mammals to all guests. The atmosphere is friendly and it is really like staying with a family. It is a basic but comfortable hotel with good hospitality. However, you must be able to cope with all the steps up the tower as the dining room and sitting area is on level three and the viewing area on level four, but it is so worth it.

We spent 5 nights at the Canopy Tower with Nature Ninja tours. The accommodations are basic but clean and more than adequate. The food is delicious and there was something new every day. The staff is very attentive to any need we had. My wife is gluten free and dairy free and they specially prepared dishes and snacks for her every day, All of the guides were awesome. They worked very hard to make sure everyone got on the birds. Before I could find a bird in my binoculars they had a great view of it in their scopes resulting in 138 lifers for me. We not only saw birds but also sloths, monkeys, a porcupine and many more. We loved every minute of this trip and when we got home, feeling confident that we would be well taken care of signed up to go to the Canopy Lodge next year

I enjoyed my trip to Canopy Tower very much. The guides and staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The guides we worked with were able to find so many different species and worked to help us see the ones we wanted to see the most. Every trip out we saw something different or got a better look at a reclusive bird. ||The kitchen staff were really good with dietary needs (gluten free and vegetarian). They always made sure to have a replacement for anything we couldn’t eat. All of the food was amazing. It was so delicious and always too much. ||All of the field trips were interesting and we saw so many birds. We also learned more about the Panama Canal and Pipeline Road. I really enjoyed the side trip to Cerro Azul in the highlands to see so many different species. I would definitely do that again. ||The night tour was overpriced. Night tours we have taken in the past have been walking tours rather than riding on the truck and we have seen so many different insects spiders, birds and mammals, even the one we did in the pouring rain showed us so much more wildlife. ||I really hope to return to the Canopy Family in the future and have nothing but praise when telling others about the experience.

Canopy Tower is spectacular and a MUST DO for any nature enthusiast. They are the complete package unlike any other nature lodge. Wonderful service, home cooked meals on the property, in-house guides, transportation, logistics, and a beautiful location. Carlos, Jorge, Eric, and Eli each spent time with us and were fantastic guides. Their skill, communication, enthusiasm, and passion were a sight to behold and their positive attitudes were infectious! The food provided in the tower was absolutely delicious. I will surely be back to Panama to visit the other two properties (canopy lodge and canopy camp).

Thank you to everyone at Canopy Tower for a wonderful stay! The staff, meals, and accommodations were excellent. It’s hard to top eating breakfast in a dining area with a male blue cotinga perched a few feet away! The platform and the hummingbird deck were fantastic places for birdwatching. Our trip guides were outstanding! Their knowledge of local wildlife and ability to see, hear, and locate birds and mammals was truly amazing. The trip list for our 3 days at the tower included 198 bird species! We also saw monkeys, anteaters, sloths, bats, olingos, kinkajous, and agoutis as well as many different types of butterflies and ants. We plan to return!
