The breakfast here was easily some of the best deli food in the area. While there are plenty of delis nearby, this one is worth the extra walk. The service is top-notch, and it’s clear the owner truly cares about both the quality of the food and creating a welcoming space for the community. A spot that feels just as good as it tastes.

Such a warm and friendly guy at the counter, I’ll definitely be back. Got Milano paninis which were fresh and tasty. Great value as well. Wish I lived closer.

My daughter and I needed a quick sandwich and this deli hit the spot. The cashier was gracious, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was filled with people of the neighborhood conversing. This is a great place to stop for great deli food and a great deli experience.

Pretty decent deli. We've gotten some good sandwiches delivered from here. Delivery has been quick and correct each time so far. It has a few small tables for a quick coffee, but not really the kind of place to hang out. That being said, definitely a step up from tour basic bodega deli counter. So far, so good!

Very neat little cafe. Despite the size, there is a large variety of options to choose from. We got several bagel sandwiches for breakfast, and they were delicious! The gentleman running the place was super friendly and helpful. Also, as far as food and Brooklyn goes, it's hard to beat these prices. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

First time trying this place and I loved it!! The food is made fresh, the service was great, the guy helped me get exactly what I wanted. The food was really yummy, very homey taste.

Might become one of the regulars at this place. I had the Philly cheese steak and fries and it's pretty good. Meet cooked nice and fries are good as well. Its a must if in the area. Not sure where the low reviews are coming from! I'm just so disappointed it's taken me so long to find this spot! Ordered their virgin mozzarella pesto sandwich as well as an egg and cheese bagel! Tasty, good prices, and hearty. Would definitely pass by if you're in the area!

Ok been in the area since the Covid and my first time coming here lol smh. Glad I went in. I had the Philly cheese steak with fries and it's preety good. Nice cooked up meat and fries are fired good. If you want something good and to get out the office you can have your lunch in the place. Prices are really reasonable because I'll be going back for breakfast. We ordered catering from here. The first day the hot sandwiches were ice cold and the wraps were warm. The second day the order arrived an hour late. We had to cancel bc our event was ending and they tried to blame us. Would not recommend

Service: super nice Food: excellent. Got a split pea soup that was actually real split pea soup and reminded me what it should taste like. Very good. Also got a falafel sandwich that was also excellent. We discovered this place as first stop on our Amazing Co scavenger hunt, what a great find! Would definitely come back!

These guys deserve less than one star for the way the owner just treated me because I DARED buy a hungry man on the street a sandwich. If you had a problem with that gentleman (who was mentally unstable, though this was not immediately obvious to me or my partner who were standing outside when he approached us asking for food), you might have said something when he walked in. Instead, you chose to "stick it out" for the $25 I'd wind up spending on him. And he definitely wasn't easy to deal with. I get it. Many folks aren't these days. However, the owner of this store screaming at me when I kindly tried to apologize for the disturbance of some random man I'd bought a sandwich? Unacceptable. They clearly knew the man much better than I did. These folks aren't just heartless. They're as rude as all of these other reviews say they are. Their customers were awful, too. Way to dehumanize an unhoused man. This place & the people who patronize it are gross. Stay away.

3.5... Good local spot, the people were polite and the sandwiches are good. I wouldn't travel for these sandwiches But I would stop by when in the neighborhood. I have def stopped by before getting in the subway or LIRR. I had the Canteen Chicken Sandwich because I heard it was their top seller. It looks better than it taste. Still it was ok. Needs more meat- the bread takes it over and it was a bit dry. And I've had the Roman Empire- that was better- I it could use a better portion of meat. It should be a huge sandwich for the price. Both sandwiches should have more meat actually. Any sandwich over $5 should be thick. These are $7 + tax. Overall- it was ok. Id go back if it's convenient and I'd get the Roman Empire with extra meat or try something different

Ordered by phone for pick up during lunch time and we were told to come in 10 minutes. The staff was super friendly and we even got a recommendation for a bakery shop. I had gotten a pastrami salad and it was absolutely PACKED with meat. Good prices, good people, would recommend you give this place a shot :)

Ordered from this spot a few times. The food is decent but they take a while to deliver. All the times I have ordered took over an hour to deliver where I work less than 10 minutes away. The last time I ordered from here I ordered breakfast, yogurt parfait, hot oatmeal, raisin cinnamon bagel with salmon cream cheese, aussie burger and a bagel boost for the office staff. They ran out of cinnamon raisin bagel for the bagel boost which was fine and was able to customize the other orders with no problem. Person who picked up the phone was nice enough. Received the food over an hour later. Everything was fine, no complaints with the orders EXCEPT for the hot oatmeal. I've ordered oatmeal many times in my life and when I received mine I was very surprised. There was barely any oats in it, it was 95% milk and I had to swim with my spoon to find a few specks of oatmeal in it. I am also lactose intolerant so with the amount of milk in it I would not be able to have it at all. I called the place to ask for a replacement because I did not know it came with milk or at least this amount of milk and the person on the phone was very rude to me, telling me that it was my fault that I didn't specify that I was lactose intolerant and that I should have known the oatmeal comes like that with milk. He did not offer to replace my order or apologize but continued to say that it was very busy and that he did not have time to be on the phone with me with my complaints and that if I brought it down to him he will replace it. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. I am upset because our clinic orders from them pretty often and I was never treated so rudely before. I personally will not be ordering from them again and I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service and support that they offer.

This spot is the best. I absolutely love their juices and the prices beat every spot. Best of all the team that works at Canteen are so incredibly nice.

Canteen Deli is fabulous. The owner loves the store and shares the sentiment with his customers. The store is attentive and courteous. The food is always fresh and tasty. Delivery is quick. The attitude of the short order kitchen feels like a restaurant.

Canteen's sandwiches and service are terrific. We ordered food for a high school event in Manhattan. The food arrived on time and fresh. We served food to staff, students and parents and all were delighted. Where ever you are in the 5 boroughs, Canteen's got your covered.

Great deli, fresh food and always served with positivity and a smile. Not easy being surrounded by so many monster supermarkets but these guys make it worth your while to come back and im happy to give them business as much as I can. Plenty of healthy options and the juices are top notch. Will miss this place when I move.

So much bread on our sandwiches, not even good bread. Three tiny slices of avocado on the turkey sandwich- pretty sure the cheese on the margarita sandwich was provolone not mozzarella. If it was Mozz, it was overpowered by the bread. Filling (because bread) but not something I'd go back to.

Wonderful NY deli with quality stuff and fantastic selection, on a street overpopulated with sub-par bodegas. The bagels are large and fluffy and there's a good assortment of cream cheeses, vegan flavors included. Iced coffee was tasty and flavorful, and this is from someone who usually only drinks cold brew. A few tables and chairs to keep you from the bustle of 4th Av. Helpful, friendly, and patient staff. I was volunteering at the marathon today and they took $2 off my order. Will be back!

Really great deli just off the train at Atlantic/Barclays. I used to go almost every morning after the gym before work for a green smoothie or breakfast wrap. I've been back a few times now as gyms and offices start reopening after the COVID-19 shutdown, and Usman greeted me by name as soon as I walked in the door! Remembered my order too. Really friendly neighborhood spot with some good sandwiches, salads, smoothies and juices. Definitely recommend it if you're in the area looking for a quick bite!

I really, really hate leaving bad reviews. Especially because when I first ordered from this place my food was actually pretty good. I've never visited the facility so I can't comment on how it is in person, but I had lunch delivered today. I got a steak fajita panini, which was actually very tasty. Fries, which were alright...and the thing that makes this review 2 stars. The soup. I ordered a chicken noodle soup. As soon as I opened it it looked a little neon yellow and similar to a canned brand. But I've ordered the soup before, and while it wasn't anything to write home about the first time it was decent for what it was. However this time, one bite in and I had to spit it out. The soup was completely rancid. I put my nose up to the cup and got hit in the face with a very off smell. It was so, incredibly sour and unfortunately because I was on my lunch break I didn't have time to call and discuss it further. Its about an hour later and my stomach is in knots. It's a shame too, because I actually really liked the panini and would've ordered from here again.

Canteen is wonderful. The people are extraordinarily nice and efficient. Their food offerings are always fresh and prompt. This spot is the best deli and quick bites I've ever experienced after being in NYC for almost 20 years. Please check them out!

Nice little deli a couple of blocks away from the Atlantic subway stop and near the Barclays Center. Looked up @ the menu and saw a breakfast burrito with chorizo for $4.00. The burrito was very good and worth the $ I spent on it. It wasnt huge and it wasn't too small whereas I would be hungry in a short period of time. They have many specials to choose from here as they have a sign outside that shows you whats on the daily. The guys that work here weren't too friendly, but it is Brooklyn lol. There are a couple of tables inside so you can sit and eat if you're not in a hurry.

Is there any chance these folks can smile say hello and thank you? I ordered food and I felt like the guy was pissed at me for having ordered it. When he finally brought it to the cashier he didn't tell me. I see him standing back there and I'm look at him like where is the food, he just points that he set it up by the cashier. I'm eating in clearly sitting at a table with coffee they wrap it up like I'm taking it with me. The home fries had absolutely no flavor. They not even greet anyone who came in and out in a gracious manner. If you focus on customer service it can go along way!

The Great Tornado of 2010 broke one of their glass walls and they had it fixed again in about a week and a half. Always moderate when it comes to food preparation speed, but quality and price are good. Past orders: Burger & Fries Buffalo Wings Bagel with Egg & Cheese

I get food from here all the time. Breakfast, lunch or dinner - it's all great! And when my parents visit from South Carolina they always ask to stop by here.

A weekend staple for us- the egg/cheese/meat on a roll in the various combinations plus the surprisingly good coffee make it an easy choice. The panni sandwiches are good as well for lunch - the Russki's a favorite here as well. A couple small tables for two people to sit at, but we've always had it to go. (They take phone orders for pickup, too, which is nice). Can't beat the location - anyone heading south out of the subway will go right past it on the way home. The old bodega here won't be missed.

0/5 on account of not receiving the shit I bought. Delivery person didn't buzz my buzzer and he/she eventually just left. When I called, I was lectured about how I should be reachable by phone. (Which -- ugh, anything but the phone.) Truth is I live in a duplex and we have bad phone reception downstairs because it's a basement. Whoever I was talking to didn't give a fuck. I only even knew there was issues with the delivery because I got a text from GrubHub. Our building isn't complicated or deceptive -- just buzz our apartment number and it tells us someone's outside. I was excited to see this place's menu because it has a lot of stuff I'd order consistently. In short, screw this place. I'll walk around the corner next time I want a fucking panini.

I go here multiple times a week and the food and service are both fantastic. The owner Usman as well as the staff are all so friendly. They also have gluten free bagels which are amazing!

The food is awesome, vegan friendly and the owner is amazing! They have tofu cream cheese, but the veggie panini on ciabatta with no cheese is vegan and delicious. Their juices are also very good. Very warm atmosphere with lots of natural lighting, corner windows, and the plants inside are lovely.

It was a quick and easy lunch, and very affordable as well. The coffee was good quality and the customer service was on point.The environment there is also very nice for a relaxing breakfast or lunch.

Made a quick pit stop here for coffee. I got a surprisingly good latte here - not the most foam or steamed milk but good coffee. Service was fast. I also liked that milk for coffee was kept in its own mini fridge. Lots of food options, which was a great touch. Includes three or four small tables by the window if you want to sit and eat.

I literally live a block away from this place, so I've never had the desire to actually go in since it'd be hard to justify the cost of a sandwich when I could just go home and eat for free. But a perfect storm of events finally led me here - I bought a Google Offers, and I had a buddy in the area apartment hunting. It was a little before noon, and there were a few people just reading newspapers or having conversations over breakfast. When we walked in, there was just one guy working the register, and he was also the one making the sandwiches. Luckily, we were at the front of the line, because everyone who came after us had to wait for the poor guy to make us our two meals. I had the "Southern Smoke", which wasn't very southern or smokey. It had turkey, ham, red peppers, cheese and some other stuff. It was delicious. Nothing like freshly sliced deli meat. It was also a huge sandwich. Only complaint is that the guy at the register had no idea how to use Google Offers. He didn't know how to redeem it, so just charged me whatever the paper said for my meal. It also took a long time to agree on that solution. Anyway, 4.5 stars for the sandwich. 2.5 stars for the service. Also, for some strange reason, they had NO ICE in the store. Couldn't get iced coffee or any other specially made cold drinks. Super weird.

A more upscale deli with lots of healthy options! This place is between my gym and the Atlantic Ave station and I love popping in for a Rise and Shine wrap (3 egg whites, turkey bacon, avocado on a spinach wrap) and large strawberry banana protein smoothie after workouts. Usually comes out to $13-14. They can also do plates with your choice of protein and a few veggie sides. Also the owner is the nicest ever! And I've lived in Minnesota. I know nice. Everything is always with a smile!

I really dig this little place right down the street from work. You can get cheap, healthy and delicious drinks and eats for about 5/6 bucks. You cannot beat those prices especially in that area, the service is great and the guy at the front remembers the returning customers orders. How cute!!

So theses guys lost my trust... we ordered lunch two hours before time to be delivered, our bill came up to over $150.00 to our surprise lunch arrived three and a half hours later... we would have used the everyday, now the have set precedence of how they do business... also we paid for several people on our crew not having lunch cause they didn't send there orders, Plus they didn't even own up to it ... *** if there's a way to give minus stars they would get -5 1/2minus they are the worst... my advice they should go out of business ASAP save the public of the grief... +++***all this happened Yesterday 4/2/2018 for an order to be sent to Steiner Studios***+++

Better & tastier burgers than Shake Shack! A few blocks from Brooklyn's Atlantic Terminal and the Barclays Center. Very friendly service and fresh ingredients. Great menu!

This deli is the peak of Park slope! Actually, I'm not even sure if it is a deli because there's a pretty classy vibe going on here. If you're in the area and are looking for a quick, cheap bite, this is the place to be. The people working here are always super friendly and they make great effort in making you feel welcome. The menu is incredibly expansive and if your heart so desires to come here for breakfast lunch and dinner, YOU CAN! I'd say the best here is the bagel sandwich though any item is fresh off the grill so you really can't go wrong. The service is as fast as they can get it for the two-person show, so if it gets packed, it might take longer for your fresh af meal to be made. Plus, they care about making the experience personal so come by and give them a try!

"The Russian" will hit the spot. Some people like the wonder bread, kraft singles & bologna thing, and just can't venture outside of that. This deli isn't for them. A wide selection of gourmet sandwiches is what this place offers. It's true that the sandwiches are a little on the small side for what you pay, but the quality is better than a lot of the deli's around here. It's clean, and the guys working the counter are polite.

This place is great!! Smoothies are so good and sandwiches amazing. Workers are super nice! Open long hours so very convenient.

So many good options to choose from at Canteen! I visited this restaurant countless times when I lived around the block. It's because I enjoyed the variety of selections and always felt welcomed and appreciated thanks to Usman and his team. I make it a point to visit Canteen any time I'm back in town. Make it your go-to spot if you live in the area!

Everyone that works here is so nice, and with a menu that has literally anything you could want, it's the perfect corner cafe. I live a block away and always find myself craving one of their salads, sandwiches, or iced coffees. I have never had a bad experience here and don't think I ever will. Love this place

This place makes amazing sandwiches. I'm from NJ, so I love my Italian subs a particular way. This is the only place I've found in the hood that makes em the way I like it, and stuffs their sandwiches with tasty ingredients! The biggest downside is that they NEVER deliver in under an hour. They're not far from my apartment, and I'll usually order two cold subs, and it still takes at least 60 minutes to get to me. That's the one qualm I have about the place, everything else is great.

Great quick bites and amazing juices and smoothies! Staff is super friendly as well! The burgers and sandwiches are to die for. They have good selection of salad and soups. The interior is nice and clean which is always a plus in my book!

This salad is super cheap and SOOOO good and generous. For $7 I got 2 chicken breasts, 5 toppings, and a mix of greens. Huge and filling salad. I loveeeee it.

The canteen chicken sandwich is great. Fries are amazing; also the tuscan white been soup. Great bagels. Burger not so good; tastes like gyro meat.

If I could leave 0 stars I absolutely would. After a long journey from NJ to BK for a concert at Barclays, my boyfriend wanted to grab a bite to eat while killing time. I wasn't hungry so while he viewed the menu I asked if I could use the bathroom. When I came out, I noticed my bf hadn't ordered anything. I was contemplating on getting a granola bar, as the guy stared me down expecting me to purchase something. When he told me his Kind Bars were $2.50, I changed my mind. Especially with them being only $1.29 back home. He then went on to tell me "you know, the restroom is for customers only and I let you use the restroom because I thought he was going to buy something". Is that really MY PROBLEM ? Appalled by his audaciousness i asked: "so you're mad because I used your bathroom without buying something?" He replied "yes." And then I'm all, "so you want us to buy something now?" He replied "yes". Lolssss. Unbelievable. Then I told him the price of the kind bars back home and he said he didn't believe me. Don't spend your money in this establishment. And god forbid you ask to use the bathroom while your partner is skimming the menu and doesn't buy anything. Lols. Ridiculous.

After being over an hour late, my hot sandwich was cold and my soup spilled out and my smoothie warm. To top it off, the manager argued with me over a refund and told seamless he refused to refund. 1 hour and 45 minutes later and I have spilled soup, a cold sandwich and wasted time calling Seamless. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

Total rip off. $6 for a smoothie made with a magic bullet. Wasn't even thick at all. Like a glass of milk with spinach in it. So gross.

I honestly don't know what to do. This cheddar tomato soup is sooooo goooood but how the delivery man acted just put this horrible taste in my mouth. I would seriously order every day at work. He was upset I ordered on seemless because he works on tips. i did tip him on my card while making my order. i think his annoyance was that he couldn't push me to tip more because i did it over internet. he even said to call next time because it's cheaper than seemless. i checked. it is not. then he said he works on tips. guess what. i work retail. right there with ya buddy. and i gave you in fact a 30% tip. ugh. the food is good. the brie wrap is skimpy on the brie, but tasty. i LOVE the cheddar tomato soup. the milk shake is ok- very milky but maybe just melted due to delivery time?

Delivery took an hour and a half and food arrived cold. Tried to call three times to resolve this and no one would answer the phone. Terrible experience and service.
