First things first: not recommended!
You can easily find much better food and service in Porto. This restaurant was recommended by some YouTubers and travel bloggers, so we had high expectations going in. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype.
Reservations couldn’t be made online, so we emailed them to secure a table. The restaurant is located in a prime spot on Rua das Flores in Porto, and it’s easy to find. We waited a bit at the reception before being greeted and seated. The waitress who served us was quite cold and barely spoke English, which was surprising—especially since we had already spent a few days in Porto and visited several very local restaurants where service and communication were never an issue.
We ordered by pointing at the menu items, but even then, the process didn’t go smoothly. Some items were missed or came out wrong.
Now, onto the most important part: the food.
The bread and banana butter served at the beginning were actually very good—but that’s where the positives ended. Most reviews recommended the “whole” octopus, so of course we ordered it. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a gimmick. The octopus was small, extremely bland, not tender, and lacked any char-grilled aroma. Portugal is famous for its seafood, and this dish really let the country down.
They also serve fries named after the restaurant—“32 Fries”—which were another disappointment: cold and soggy (though the dipping sauce was okay). We also ordered tripe, chuck eye, grilled shrimp, and a few other dishes, but none of them were particularly flavorful or memorable.
We spent around €35 per person.
To conclude: it was a huge disappointment and felt like a tourist trap. It wasn’t a complete disaster, but it’s definitely not worth your time or money. You can easily find better dining experiences in Porto—or anywhere else in Portugal, for that matter.
