The food was excellent. The drinks were awesome. ABOVE ALL the SERVICE was the best! Our bartenders were great mixologists, able to have great conversation with us while doing their job and not missing a beat. Melvin the manager goes above and beyond for the guests. All around great experience. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

By far the WORST mexican restaurant in Gainesville. The food was very very bland, got the birria tacos and all I could taste was burnt meat. Got a side of rice and beans for my kids and the rice was overcooked and mushy but still managed to have some uncooked grains. Basically unedible and flavorless. I truly cannot comprehend how that was allowed out of the kitchen. The beans had more onions and broth than beans and the tub was filled less than half way. Which for the price that is absolutely outrageous. Also got the “chicken fajitas” and I’m pretty sure they gave me pulled pork instead and the veggies were completely raw.

We came in for a meal and left with so much more than great food and service. Danielle went above and beyond, not just being attentive and kind, but taking the time to talk with my daughter about college life and her future. In a true college-town moment, they shared thoughtful, honest advice that was encouraging, practical, and genuinely meaningful. It’s rare to meet someone who makes that kind of impact in such a short interaction. My daughter walked out feeling more confident and excited about her next chapter—and that’s something we’ll never forget. Outstanding service, wonderful conversation, and a reminder that the best customer service comes from truly caring about people.

BY FAR the best Mexican place I’ve tried in Florida and I should know because I’m from Honduras, which basically makes me Mexican!🤣 Seriously, I get a bowl everywhere I go and this one was better than some of my favorite spots in Miami and Naples especially the carne asada steak! The entire staff from our server, Mollee, to our bartender, Anabel, and the managers, Brandon and Melvin, were all super friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I had an amazing experience at Cantina Añejo! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely delicious. But what truly made the night exceptional was our server, Ashton. Ashton was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. They had great menu recommendations and even took the time to check on us regularly, ensuring our drinks were never empty and that we were enjoying our meal. It’s rare to find service this outstanding! If you’re looking for a great spot with incredible food and top-notch service, Cantina Añejo is the place to go—be sure to ask for Ashton!

Honestly, I have never encountered such incredible customer service from a restaurant before. They went so above and beyond today, it brought me to tears of gratitude....extra special shout out to Matt! Oh yes, and the food is delicious too. My main order was the sopa de pollo - its flavorful, savory in all the right ways, and really hit the spot. 20/10. Thank you Cantina Añejo family...you really saved the day.

Priscilla made me the best drinks. They were very refreshing. Her service for our party of 12 at the bar was exponential. I had to tell the manager Melvin. He recommended his favorite hand crafted drink the ‘Violet agave’. I highly recommend this place, it never fails. The service or the food 🤩👏🏼

She gave great recommendations and made everyone feel welcome. You can tell she genuinely cares about the customer experience.
