Cantina Catrina Dadeland Mall

The food was very good, we ordered the guacamole as a starter and it was a big plate. Then we had some tacos and quesadilla and both plates were very nice. The drinks were ok, a bit too sweet for my taste, service wasn’t great, it was a bit hard to get the waiters to attend us. We spent more time than expected because of this.

We had a fantastic experience at the restaurant! From the delicious food and drinks to the excellent customer service and appealing decor, it seems like they hit all the right notes. It's always wonderful to find a place that excels in every aspect of the dining experience.

This place has a great atmosphere! We were attended by Ruben, Service was really nice! Right now they have Happy Hour! Monday through Friday until 7 pm on Frozen Margarita’s, We got the Maracuya and was delicious! Carne Asada Tacos were incredible and perfectly well done! If you are looking to have great time and enjoy Good Mexican food and nice environment this is the place to go!

The food was delicious. The staff was super friendly and informative. They explained how to order after scanning the menu, and not to order the dessert until later or else everything will come together. You order online and the waitrr brings out your order, and then you pay online also. The prices are ok, but the atmosphere was great. They have skeletons at tables to keep social distancing. Plenty of parking at the mall. It is located on the 2nd floor of the terrace dinning area.

Shrimp tacos were very good. Chicken quesadillas were AMAZING. Margaritas were done right. We liked the restaurant. Decor is very picturesque. Many spots to take photos. We did spend over $100 for two adults including 2-drinks each, an appetizer, and 2-entres.

Have passed this place several times. Finally checked it out on Taco Tuesday 🌮 let's just say my birria tacos were absolutely phenomenal 😋 I had a pina colada, and that was pretty good. Guacamole and chips hit the spot, too. So overall, I'd come back. Sooner then expected.

Food was great for the price, large portions of everything. A lot of flavor in everything we ordered. Margarita happy hour was decent, tried their custom drinks that were different but pretty strong. Service gets 18% already added to the bill which was fine as everyone was very helpful and attentive to us. Beautiful Mexican decor with great music selection (Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, etc.). Fun atmosphere.

If you’re in dadeland craving tacos, go for it. However, it’s not a spot I would crave. They do give big portions especially for the price. Service was alright, considering it was lunch on a Sunday. Birria Tacos were good but I have had better.

Come eat with the dead. Haha. They have Mexican decorated skeletons to party with. Great food, fresh, fast. Service was a 7, not too bad. Full Mexican menu, great cocktails, they say 1000 tequilas, I dunno. We stopped in here at a yelp elite event and it drew me back Great place to have a taco, throw one back.

The decor of this restaurant is so inviting and the food does NOT disappoint. The esquites appetizer was easily my favorite! We tried some appetizers, tacos and even the dessert and everything was cooked to perfection. The staff was very attentive even for how busy the restaurant was, and they helped us with making selections. And The drinks are strong (which I love)! I cannot wait to come back.

Food was really solid and for an ok price! Their happy hour is ok. 2 for one margaritas and a few draft beers. I think the only flavors are passion fruit, mango, and lime but they are quite big, just sugary. The recipe comes in a. Cool box! Tip is included. Service was fast, but mostly in Spanish. Free chips and sauce when you sit down!

Get the corn!! The truffle guacamole is also super delicious with their homemade chips. Loves how they have the restaurant decorated with fake skeletons. Their pass fruit margarita is amazing both in the rocks and the frozen style.

Located in the fashion wing of Dadeland Mall you will find Cantina Catrina. I have been interested in trying Catrina since it opened a couple of years ago and impressed with its staying power in Dadeland. This past Friday my wife and I decided to have dinner and check out their happy hour menu. We ordered the frozen margaritas two for ones and ordered their chips and guacamole. The drinks came out really fast and they were good but a little too sweet, while the chips were good. The guacamole was very tasty, which turned out to be the best part of the meal. For our main entree we ordered their chicken quesadillas and tacos with carne asada (meat). The taste of both quesadillas and tacos were a little bland while the chicken had bitter aftertaste. The server was a sweetheart and the decor of the place was very cool and celebrated the Mexican holiday the day of the dead.

María was our waitress and she was the sweetest and most attentive waitress we have had! Was a bit skeptical on coming in due to it being so empty but this place did not disappoint, both natalia and maria were amazing!! Thank you again, food was 10/10

Had lunch at Cantina Catrina a couple of weeks ago. The esquites appetizer was really good, the rest of the food was average. The reason for the two stars is the 20% service charge that's automatically added to your check. It's pretty standard these days which is okay but the server stood by the table and watched us try to figure out the tip and chose not to let us know it was included in the total. So, we basically tipped on the total which already included a 20% service charge. We realized after we paid and called her back to the table to ask her. She said the restaurant takes 10% and the server gets 10%. Of note, when she brought the "check" which was on a handheld device, she called out what we had and the total so we never saw an actual breakdown. Seemed deliberate. Wouldn't go back and definitely wouldn't recommend.

Tried their chipotle shrimp tacos and the tacos Al pastor. Both were OK, but nothing to rave about. The al pastor tacos were definitely preferred over the shrimp ones. Service is not the best. Drinks were also not memorable. Wouldn't return if it were up to me.

This place deserves a negative star review. AWFUL in every way!!! From the totally incompetent staff to the crappy food. I asked the bar tender a simple question in English if they had a certain tequila. After all it is the U.S. He said no. So I asked what they had in a reposada and he mentioned the one asked for. Then my friend said do you or do not have it and he said no. Then yes! I mean really?? He finally made our drinks with a nasty salt around the rim. Drink wasn't so bad so I ordered another one keeping in mind I asked for a very spicy margarita the first time. I said I'll have another please but can I have regular salt instead of the one he used. He brought me a totally different drink. I asked him where the jalapeños were and he didn't understand. Then said I ordered a different drink! I did not... I only wanted different salt!!then another guy came over... he too was an idiot because after explaining over and over that I just wanted white salt and not the other blend he remade the drink and used the same crappy salt!!! You can't make this up! It's pure stupidity! Then this guy had the balls to tell us he didn't care if we came back! Oh...and I ordered chicken enchiladas! The bar tender didn't even know the damn menu and said they didn't have that! I had to show him where they were on the menu along with the queso! Their damn awnings even say "enchiladas" I mean I was there for 3 minutes and knew the menu!!! If you're going to work in a restaurant speak English and know your menu!!! I will never go back and will never forget how badly we were treated!!! AWFUL SERVICE!!! Crappy cheap food and filthy bathrooms.

What a great find! I went to DadeLand Mall to look for an item and left very satisfied with a meal. There was no plan to eat at the mall and when I ventured to see what was on the second level, I found this wonderfully decorated and inviting Cantina! I enjoy the whole set up, the location and it pulled me in. The service was quick and the server was quite helpful. His suggestions were welcomed and the outcomes were wonderful. I did not want to eat too much and I was glad the servings were just right. Flavorful chips with two different salsas were a great way to start and the tacos afterward were very tasty. The meat inside was well marinated, cooked and tasty! Yummy! Fun decor added to the experience with plenty of selfies and more to enjoy. Take a ride over and seek them out!

Came for lunch with the family, second time around and left happy and satisfied with my overall experience. I loved everything from the decorations, to the ambience, the service, the food and the Mexican music playing enough to enjoy it and enjoy the conversation with the person across the table. I will totally come again for another meal.

Food was not the best all all. The waiter didn't even speak English. The Ambiance was amazing and the best part of the experience. The food is also overpriced.

Service was excellent and the food was even better. Super clean bathrooms and facilities with a really nice personal touch. The food was also a good value. Brought my kids here for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. The location is a little odd but worth seeking out. We spend a lot of time in Arizona and enjoy very authentic Mexican Food. I would say that this is one of the best Mexican Restaurants I've experienced in Miami. Highly recommended. My kids say 10 stars but yelp only allows five. Dog friendly patio made our puppy feel at home. @2bigbosses loved it.

Only came here for drinks. . . My friend and I ordered came here for drinks. Hibiscus Mezcalita and Proper Margarita. Both drinks were excellent and strong. The glasses were really big for the price. Will be returning.

Love love love the decor and the skeleton patrons seated at tables and the bar. Bartenders are cool and menu looks delish. Honestly just stopped by for a drink or 2 to kill time while waiting for a friend. Glanced at the menu and definitely looks appealing. I ordered a Michelada but what I got was not a Michelada. It was to sweet and I could taste the syrup, it wasn't bad just not for me. I ordered a modelo beer and it came out so cold I drank it like water. Definitely the place for some good cold ones. Gotta come back and try the elote and birria tacos.

I was excited to come here because the decor is so cute. The food is mediocre at best, the service was average (our waitress was Natalia). I was left disappointed and unsatisfied. We ordered the birria tacos and this is what we got, the picture speaks for itself.

Came for a drink and bartender suggested a great beer. Restaurant aesthetic is super cool. Great service from the second I walked into the restaurant.

Well our first time was not great, so we refrained from visiting, decided to give it a try again today, now that they were more seasoned. Queso dip was warm , not hot , not sure what cheese it was? Chips were good and molcajete sauces both were delicious. Margaritas a bit on the light side for 14.95 . After sharing my comments with Server, they definitely redeem on the second round. Lechón carnitas were very good. Will try to come back again. Good location convenient.

We came on a Saturday afternoon and the service was excellent. We had a few drinks and everything was perfect. The ambiance was great, playing the perfect music and volume.

We visited Cantina Catrina tonight for the first time and it did not disappoint. The decor and the vibe is amazing. The bartender, Stephanie, was extremely nice and the drinks were delicious!!! The service provided by Stephanie was top notch! Will definitely be back!!

Had a tortilla soup and the mojito. It was pretty decent. My folks had birria taco and burrito. There was a lot of meat.

Would 100% recommend if you like Mexican food, the cheese on the guacamole was amazing , very authentic and fresh , recommend the birria tacos and guacamole and the margaritas

This is my 2nd time here in Cantina!! It doesn't disappoint me. The Margaritas are great, the quesadillas and the "lechón " carnitas tacos are really good! Tuesday are taco Tuesday and they have 2x1 margaritas from 4-7 pm Enjoy!!

Ok so a year ago I thought different than now! They changed management I think and their chef! We went with my family and we LOVED the food, attention they even have crayons and play dough for my son. So we went twice this week! The atmosphere is fantastic! 100% recommended we are regulars now!

I really enjoy the atmosphere and customer service that the employees give to the customers. My waitress Carina was super nice and attentive to all our needs. Our food and let's not forget our margaritas we're super yummy! Will definitely be back!!

We visited for the first time yesterday and we will likely not return for a few reasons. The best part was the chips & salsa. But they charged $5 for a refill which was not disclosed. We were there for the Happy Hour. The Frozen Margaritas were OK. We had the fajita quesadillas. My hubby didn't not like the taste and only ate half. I had the Nachos and they were just OK. Very little chorizo. The bill was the shocker. The waitress made a mistake and initially charged me for a bottle of wine instead of the glass. No biggie and she took it off. But then they added an 18% service charge prior to adding the tax. There was only 3 of us in our group so we were not a large party. Overall, the food & service were overpriced and underwhelming. One and done for us.

I think the food here is pretty good. I had the enchilada and they were pretty good. The house salsa verde was a nice topping. The roasted corn is super tasty, and a really great appetizer option. Good to cut in 2 to share. Now, where they didn't grab me was the service and location. My first service issue was by phone. They closed at 10. I called at 9 to see if there was a wait. They said no, but made it clear that they close in an hour and that if we're not there soon, the kitchen wouldn't take the order. I was already in the area so I went anyways, and the staff clearly looked annoyed. We sat, waited about 10 mins for anyone to come over. When they did, they seemed new or just in a rush. Weren't sure about a few menu questions. We ordered cocktails that we had to remind them about after the food arrived. Just not great. Aside from the service, the spot is pretty cool. Skeletons all over. Conveniently located in Dadeland mall, so if you're shopping and want to have some Mexican food it works. However, If you're not already at the mall the parking isn't super convenient. All in all... if someone wanted to go, I'd tag along and give it another go.

Second time visiting, food was just as good as the first visit. The waitress "Carina" was very attentive.

Beware! there is a service charge of 20% on your bill that does no towards the servers tip ! I didn't find out until way later and basically did not tip my waiter because I thought the "service charge" was for the waiters service. the suggested tip was 3% and I thought that was just bonus on top of the 20%. I hope this means the wait staff is making a lot more than the required hourly, but then where is the 20% going? anyway, food is good. atmosphere is great. location is very convenient but I will not be going back and neither are my friends.

Unfortunately I think the reviews speak for themselves. I remember being so excited for this place to open because who doesn't like Mexican food. The decor is so cute, convenient location... They started off OKAY the first time we went when they open a few years ago and then... downhill the last time I went, the service was horrendous. My girlfriends and I split one bill in 3 and the waitress hovered over us to force each of us to give her a 20% tip which was almost as much as all the food combined. Really unfortunate because this place could really be something

Food 3 stars Service 1 star I wish I would have read the reviews before visiting this restaurant. The curb appeal was awesome and brought us in because it looked like a good vibe. The Catrina nachos were great! The carne asada tacos were mediocre. The margaritas were good because they were $15.95 for bottomless. However, without that special they are $10.95 each and they aren't worth that in my opinion. I asked the waitress for water which she never brought. All the food came out and I had nothing to drink (literally). She kept talking to the other tables she was taking care of and continued to ignore ours despite me waiving her down in which case she averted her eyes. Eventually we received more food and the food runner was kind enough to get me water. I asked for a refill and she ignored me again so I had to ask the bartender for more water. This place has lots of potential but clearly the service is seriously lacking. My recommendation is for the manager to walk to the tables and ensure that everyone is happy with their service and food.

Fun fun spot for some fresh tacos. The location is awesome and super fun atmosphere. The decor is over the top cool while still having the safety of social distancing. The fresh tacos are delicious with a side of beans and rice is good. The service staff is nice and the meal is out quick. The prices are fare and the great music on the weekend is a bonus.

The food is delicious but I just think it's very overpriced for the meal. They come and serenade you Using mariachis and ask if you are requesting a song. The food comes out very quick and the staff is courteous.

We sat in a table middle of restaurant right next to horseshoe bar. Main seating. Been 25 minutes and not even a curserary walk by. No water no chips nothing. All wait staff are servicing the parameter booths. Also been 10 minutes since I alerted the hostess and still nothing. Can you complete waste of you can r time avoid at all cost

Mexican food with a twist. Atmosphere is photo worthy. They have brunch and drink specials. Prices are medium but the taste is authentic. I had a bad experience with customer service as everyone was getting served around me except me, I had to ask multiple times for drink refill and took a significant amount of time for my order to come out compared to customers that came after me.
