"One thing you’ll likely notice when walking the streets of Cuzco is how many places advertise pizza. If you’re dying for a slice, there’s no better spot than La Cantina. Primarily a wine bar—bottles of all-Italian vintages line the walls—this place also happens to serve the best pizza in town, with a delicately thin crust topped with ingredients like authentic salami, prosciutto, arugula, olives, a variety of cheeses, and more. You’ll also find imported meat and cheese plates, lasagna, bruschetta, and salads. If you’re lucky, there’s tiramisu at the meal’s end, plus artisanal limoncello. Go for the wine, but be sure to try the food while you’re there."

Tucked away on Calle Saphy in Cusco, La Cantina Vinoteca is the city’s first Italian wine bar, offering an intimate setting that transports you straight to the heart of Italy. The atmosphere is nothing short of enchanting, with a rustic elegance that invites you to unwind and savor the moment. The wine selection is a curated journey through Italy’s most iconic regions, from the robust reds of Tuscany to the crisp whites of Sicily. Each bottle tells a story of tradition and passion, and the knowledgeable staff are eager to guide you through this sensory voyage. Now, let’s talk about the pizza. Crafted with a thin, crisp crust that achieves the perfect balance between crunch and chew, it’s a testament to authentic Italian pizza-making. Topped with fresh, flavorful ingredients, each bite is a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. Generous portions ensure you leave satisfied, both in appetite and experience. Whether you’re a local or a traveler seeking a genuine taste of Italy in the heart of Peru, La Cantina Vinoteca offers an unforgettable dining experience. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a celebration of Italian culture, wine, and cuisine, all served with warmth and expertise.

The food was very tasty and authentic. Super tasty pizza, bruscetta, and cheese with ham plate is also highly recommended. A menu in English would be great, but if you know the Italian dishes, you'll be fine in this authentic restaurant. Very tasty wines and friendly service. We'll be back soon!

We popped into cartina vino for a few glasses of wine on our last night in Cusco. The service was excellent - Rafael came over and recommended wine, explaining the concept of the wine bar. Our server was Jhomira and she was excellent!!!! The wine selection was great, and cheese/meats platter was wonderful. Couldn’t recommend this wine bar enough for a lovely date with friends or a partner, it was really lovely.

This was the highlight of our culinary experience in Cusco. After travelling from Lima through 6 Peruvian cities to reach Cusco we were keen for some non Peruvian food and came across this near our hotel. The waiter, Jericho, was so lovely. He gave us excellent recommendations and was so warm and friendly. His English was great too, which was helpful. We had our first meal in Cusco here and returned to at the end of our time in Cusco to the same place. Would highly recommend.

It's always a warm welcoming when walking through the front doors. If you are looking for a warm and inviting atmosphere, it's hard to find better places in Cusco. With an impressive and well thought out wine menu, Rafaelle is always there to help you decide. The wine pairs well with a selection of pizza, lasagna, and custom cheese/meat boards. The food is fresh, and a single pizza is perfect for two. They also accept credit cards or cash.

I had the pleasure of dining at this exceptional Italian restaurant and it was an unforgettable experience. The cozy ambiance created the perfect backdrop for a delightful evening. Rafael, the owner, and the entire staff were not only friendly but also incredibly nice, making us feel right at home. Rafael's expertise shone through as he suggested a brilliant pairing for the extraordinary dishes, all crafted with fresh ingredients imported from Italy. The flavors were truly authentic and transported us to Italy with every bite. The wine selection was nothing short of spectacular, enhancing the culinary journey even further. And for those seeking a perfect post-meal touch, the options for digestifs like Amaro were a delightful surprise. Rafael's class and knowledge were evident in every aspect of our visit, adding an extra layer of sophistication to the evening. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough - it's a must-visit for anyone looking for an Italian dining experience that's truly top-notch.
