Canton Bazaar

I love the downstairs area. Of particular interest to me are the wood vase stands. They are wood, hand carved & in a variety of sizes and shapes. I use them for my Asian figurines. They're becoming hard to find. I like to bring my stuff there to find the right stands. I also shop for gifts of chopsticks, wonderful ramen bowls with chop sticks, teapots and for myself tiger balm. The staff is very patient & nice.

Wow, there is so much to see there. Definitely the best bazaar in Chinatown, by far!!! Go there, you will find something for everyone.

Never tire of going here. Took my young grandsons for the first time yesterday and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Made memories and bought mementos. What fun!

Many Chinese stores in a row, some prices are good some are over the top. Check yourself before purchasing. Very nice walk around

Had a bad experience shopping at this shop during Labor Day weekend. The salesperson is acting very rude and simply ignoring you as you do not exist when asked a question about the item in the store. I won't recommend coming here. I usually find sales people in Chinatown SF tend to be polite and accommodating. I rather go to Old Shanghai across the street or other shops in the area.

If you're visiting San Francisco's Chinatown, you MUST shop here. Wow! They sell a lot of different stuff. Ie. Statues, coin purses, jewelry, umbrellas, figurines, cello shaped wine racks, clothes, you name it. A lot of gift ideas for sure, and it's two stories. There's a lot to see. There are many sales people to assist, and they are adamant about closing on time. They will repeatedly verbalize it's nearing closing time throughout the store. They have to because there is a crowd of people shopping within the narrow aisles filled with merchandise.

Staff was not nice, made me feel very uncomfortable. I do not recommend going here. The are many souvenir stores close by that are much better

A super fun store to browse and buy all the touristy stuff that you don't need! =D They have all kinds of gadgets, gifts and souvenir items, as well as some very practical items at decent prices. E.g. Sage sticks at very good prices, incense and holders, key chains, muscle balms, key chains, and a host of many other items . Super fun place to look around while you're in SF!

super rude staff, were very distrustful of me and followed me upstairs where they watched me in an awkward and almost creepy way. Products were nothing too different from nearby shops, would much rather to go another one with friendlier employees

I've been here tons of times Not sure why this is my first review for this business This place has pretty much everything and anything you are looking for Total of 3 levels Bottom level has teas, household items, dishes, cups, furniture and home decor First level has tons of Knick knacks, Sage bracelets ,necklaces, wallets, purses post cards, crystals, ect ect Top level has silk robes, silk scarves, more purses and wallets Most things are reasonable priced It's definitely a must stop and shop kinda place

When visiting this store a few years back in San Francisco, I was in love! The variety was awesome and I purchased multiple things. Check out wad quick and customer service was top notch. When I arrived home I ended up giving many gifts to family and friends and it was great because they were unique. Recently I decided to reorder some items ( 2nd time I ordered after visiting the store) and once again the service was perfect. My items came right away! The down side is tax is higher in San Francisco and they really do not have a website so unless you visited store you really can't order from them.

An Asian department store in Chinatown, featuring luscious displays and three floors of every kind of merchandise, Canton Bazaar is not to be missed! I have been browsing and shopping here since my student days in San Francisco! It probably boasts the most diverse assortment and price range of Asian gifts on Grant Street. If you venture in, be sure to explore all three floors and you are bound to find a treasure! Whether you want a small ceramic item from the basement, a piece of luxurious jewelry from the main floor, or an elegant embroidered robe from the third, you will find every variety and price range of goods. The less expensive, more touristy items are displayed near the door, but if you venture farther back, you will find exquisitely beaded Mary Francis purses at prices lower than fancy boutiques. I admire the small trees and bouquets of flowers, with semi-precious stones carved as leaves. The ornate Chinese enamel rings and bracelets are a marvel of workmanship! This is a wonderful place to appreciate the magical artistry of Asian art!

If you're going for a joy ride through Chinatown, this is the best place to pick up all the quintessential Chinatown knick-knacks. I know this because my brother dragged us into every shop on Grant. This place is not only 3 floors of stuff, but has the best prices across the board, generally an entire dollar less or 15% cheaper than similar shops in the area. It's well staffed and you can taste some tea in the basement. It's not a place I'd go shopping on the regular, but if you're doing touristy stuff, this can be your one stop shop for SF Chinatown souvenirs.

Extensive selection of silk scarves upstairs. (100% silk for $39.) Excellent service. Kind, attentive shopkeepers. Adorable stuffed pandas. Love, love.

Super cute and fun store located in China Town SF. They sell awesome silk goods/clothing as well as Chinese gifts. I noticed one of their mannequins had a beautiful silk robe on a wanted to get one it costs $69.99 I was thinking DAMN! That's the same price you would get a robe for at Victoria's Secret, obviously VS doesn't sell Chinese Silk but the same concept of a girly get-ready robe. I decided not to get it and good thing because next door they sold the same thing for only $19.99 ha ha both my friends ended up getting one as well! Even though it's pricey here they still had nice stuff! I saw some stress balls here I forgot how much they cost and I wanted to get some for my boyfriend but I didn't want to carry them around while we walked around SF the whole day. TIP: The deeper you get into China Town aka farther away from the main gate, the cheaper it is for the same goods!

Canton Bazaar is my absolute favorite place to visit when I come to SF Chinatown. They have three story's of fun little trinkets. I feel like Ariel from Little Mermaid when I go in there. They definitely have gadgets and gizmos aplenty. The main reason I like going to this store is the large friendly Buddha statue that is located in the front of the store. He is so welcoming and a beautiful piece of art. I just wish I had the money to take him back home to LA with me. Every time I come in I grab my children new sets of chopsticks and beautiful silk pouches. They have come to expect that they will get these as a souvenir whenever I am in SF. If you are ever in the area I definitely recommend taking some time and exploring the canton bazaar. You might just find something you never knew you always wanted.

Extremely unhappy with this place. Spent money here with my children. Less than 10 minutes later came back with my young son who was desperate to use a bathroom. Still holding his purchase from the place in his hand. We were then told they didn't have a bathroom. Which of course is not true they just don't want the public to use it. I get it if you don't want to open it to everyone but this was a desperate child who had just spent his savings at your business. The truth is there are many places to spend your money in Chinatown, you should save your money for a place with a heart .

Ever changing, ever fun. Check out the lower level for the really neat stuff. I give five stars for the fact that I've been looking for a light cord Forever that noone has... Except Canton Bazaar Thanks guys!!!!

Canton Bazaar is one of the larger, nicer stores in Chinatown, with 3 floors of just about anything you come to Chinatown for. You could easily spend an hour browsing through everything. It's usually got a considerable amount of customers but I haven't seen it reach that packed-like-sardines choking level of crowd. 2nd floor is apparel, including kimonos and Chinese dresses (Qipao) and accessories. Ground floor is purses, accessories, jewelry, and decorative sculptures. Basement is furniture, home goods and assorted kitchenware. Sprinkled thoroughout all floors are the standard Chinatown chotchkies - folding fans, umbrellas, coin purses, hats, toys, etc.

When I happen to be in Chinatown, the last place I want to be is inside one of the many Tourist shops on Grant. I'd rather be checking out the Market action on Stockton, wandering wandering the Alleyways, people watching at Portsmouth Square, or heading on towards North Beach. Yet during my last visit, I was hosting out-of-town guests and they preferred to shop instead of explore. Canton Bazaar was one of their key choices and I spent a LOT of time among this store's 3 well-stocked floors. Are you aware of the notion that if you spend enough time in a place, that you'll eventually buy something? It's True. I was happy to eventually leave, but did so with a grudging appreciation of the selection and the helpful and friendly service here.

This one of the better touristy kind of shops that line both sides of grant in chinatown, this one distinguished by it's greater variety of items for sale. This is chinatown, so there will be no parking, but it's always better to walk in chinatown anyway due to the narrow congested streets. While they have the same amount of ticky tacky that is carried by literally every other store in sf-magnets, cable car christmas decorations, T shirts, they also carry some more tasteful and unique items inside, including some decent buddhist/chinese iconography. There is also the expected jewelry counter, but really the home decoration items/clothes are a much better bet. Pricing is variable-subject to change according to the season, supply and demand and the usual chinatown quirkiness. Don't be afraid to attempt to negotiate on pricing-sometimes great results can be achieved, sometimes not but it's always worth a try. Truly one of the better touristy type shops in the area.

So much bang for your renminbi! Canton Bazaar has all your spiritual enlightenment supplies. They've got all the Buddha statues you can ever need. This market in the middle of Chinatown is a huge destination for all your touristy needs. They had cheap t-shirts, printed with images of the Golden Gate and other SF sights. But their selection is so much more- they've got everything you need for the home. Bats and scorpions sealed in resin? What home wouldn't be better displaying a dead bat in plastic? They have a second story that has a bunch more stuff, along with tea, exotic art, tiny boxes, and a bunch more Asian themed merchandise. They offer the Yelp check-in, which is pretty great of them! Be sure to hit them up for some free tea samples while you're there. They've got a great selection.

What a cool and fun store! You can explore here for hours. Yes, it's absolutely tacky and touristy... but that's the best part of it! You'll find kitschy things that you could find at stores like Urban Outfitters, but also inexplicable little Asian boxes with erotic art inside them, thousands of candles, musical instruments, furniture, and clothes/costumes. I know this isn't authentic Chinatown, but there's tons of that in the surrounding blocks. This is a very only-in-San-Francisco shopping experience, and it's good for an (adult) laugh!

Best place for a fun splurge in Chinatown, from moonstone eggs to silk robes with velvet sleeves to slippers, Hand beaded purses, beautiful pearls , jewels and traditional everything! Lots of candles, palo santo smudging sticks and sage sticks too. Huge plethora or crystals to collect and fun bracelets and makeup bags to wooden jewelry boxes! My favorite store ever very reasonable prices something for everybody. U could spend an hour looking at everything. Three floors of expertly curated items!!!!!!

I'm visiting from Dallas and decided to check out this shop based on the awesome photos here. I was immediately greeted and the ladies in front were nice enough to bring me a basket when my hands were full. There are indeed some standard trinkets but everything was neatly organized but I did see many things available here that were not offered at the shops I went to afterwards. Prices are clearly marked too. 5 stars for selection, organization and a very friendly staff. Thanks for having me y'all.

Someone said they spent an hour and a half... I spent 2! This place was amazing with affordable and quality clothing, purses, and other goodies. It was such a delight to shop here vs. the stores selling cheaper wares. If you're ever in Chinatown, you'll likely stop by every store and you'll end up going into this store. With that said, I still wanted to rave about this one. Enjoy shopping! I'll be back next week.

as far as gift stores go in San Francisco's Chinatown, this is simply one of if not the best. HUGE (THREE floors, don't forget the basement!) everything from shoes to purses to furniture to fantabulous jewelry including crystal TIARAS!!! (someday), you name it or are looking for it, this place most likely has it, if it doesnt... you prolly are SOL as far as finding it.. In addition, the staff is nice, polite and welcoming. oh and four of the most important words i've uttered this year... SUPER TINY LUCKY CAT! Look for these niblet sized Maneki Neko at the check out in front of the cash register. The cutest things youve ever seen and I can tell you from experience that having one (I have six) may not bring you the winning ticket in the lottery, but they will increase the size of your smile exponentially. It's a FANTASTIC place to rest your legs in a just shy of midway walk from the Union Square area to the Wharf, before you hit North Beach. Put aside a MINIMUM of half an hour to explore... so MUCH fun in one store it's almost unbeliveable!

I have Shopping Fever - and I got it from the Canton Bazaar. - 32 die-cut postcards of naked ladies on roller blades = $3.00 - A box of snappers = $0.69 - Fart powder = $1.49 - Candy underwear = priceless

Basically has any Asian trinket your heart can desire! Go downstairs because they offer free tea tastings and a map of chinatown :) Canton Bazaar offers a wide variety of cute small dishes, chopsticks, bowls, buddahs, anything that will be a perfect souvenir. I managed to find a mini harmonica necklace for only $4 and works pretty well. Bring cash unless you plan on doing a lot of shopping since there is a $10 minimum for card. A must stop!

Granted this place is a touristy spot/gift shop, I've occasionally shopped here to give away "local" gifts to friends visiting from out of town or friends from out of town. This place has a bunch of trinkets, some with the Chinese motifs. I come here for cheap souvenirs including chopsticks, fans, shotglasses, keychains, and postcards. The items are decent and they have huge variety. Coming here is like shopping at several stores along Grant Avenue's souvenir shops because of its size. They have a downstairs portion with dishes and other household items in case you want to do additionally shopping. They also have a backside with vases, flower pots, antiques, and some neat ($$$$ expensive) items you can take home for a hefty sum.

I really enjoy looking around in this eclectic store. There are so many things to see--some are your typical souvenirs, and others are more upscale items such as clothing or housewares. This is a large store with 3 floors. The kids enjoyed ogling the insects in glass that you see as soon as you walk in! The people who work there graciously accepted the YELP deal of 10% off of a $25.00 purchase. (This deal was for using the "check-in" feature on the mobile YELP app.)

Sometimes it's nice just to get lost in a pile of... stuff. :) I actually found some amazing comfy slippers for around 7 bones that were worth the investment. The variety in this place is pretty incredible -- whether you're a tourist or a local.

This is probably my favorite souvenir shop in Chinatown. It is big and the staff is friendly. They have two floors of all the stuff that you absolutely can't leave San Francisco without - bats sealed in resin, little pouches for your spare change, teeny tiny dishes, assorted chopsticks, tea sets and of course more. Also, i like the soothing Chinese music they play in here. One thing that they don't have that much of is toys but you can get those gems across the street. If you're only going to hit one shop in Chinatown save your energy and renminbi for Canton Bazar.

If you are ever looking for an excuse to go to China but you don't have the money to fly their come here. Every single thing you can think of, Chinese related, is on sale here. The place is humongous it has 3 floors and free tea tastings. Forget the Asian museums nearby just come here. Ask for Mary she's real nice and helpful. I need me more $2 wine holders downstairs.

Great place for souvenirs in China town, San Francisco! They were accommodating and gave us a free gift upon checking out! Worth a visit and there are multiple levels.

This store is amazing. Bargain priced items compared to next door and down the street. Came for traditional Chinese banquet attire for bride and groom and didn't even spend a Benji for both! Suki was amazing. Upfront about everything! Very attentive and even steamed away the folds for us! Highly recommend this place (and I hate writing reviews so this says a lot)

If you can only visit one shop during your stop at San Francisco Chinashop, make it this one. Honestly they're all the same stuff across the town, but this one has the larger selection, and more decent customer service. They have a whole section on Chairman Mao stuff, which I really dig for some reason, all that Chinese communist propaganda stuff is pretty amusing. There's also the little standard souvenir stuff like keychains and magnets which are hella cheap

Awesome place with many things to buy , you can't go wrong there . There staff is very professional, knowledgeable and respectful. There there for you when you need help. And there smiles are welcoming. Very nice! I will go back . And will possibly buy a table with bronze statues that hold the top on. Very clean and uncluttered. You should check it out!

I love this place. I grew up going to school right around the corner so I have lots of memories of shopping here with my mom or with friends after school. I just went a week ago to buy my dad some black tai chi shoes for Christmas (which they had in his size, a 43! Even though they were much more expensive than I had hoped, I found they were one of the only stores on Grant Ave that sell them at all) While I waited for the woman to search downstairs for his size, I browsed some very odd tins (for your cocaine, weed, pills and other uses, painted with retro Asian designs, sooo odd!) And some dead bugs sealed inside plastic keychains (only $1.50!!) It's such a trip looking around. I paid my 10 cents for a bag and it's a work of art! A beautiful painting of a woman on it. I sent it to my dad as well, as it was just so pretty.

Once you get passed the chirping noise of those annoying electronic crickets. This is actually a very nice shop with nice things in it. Better than selection and inventory than what you might find up and down the street. Go downstairs to find the tea pots and plate ware stuff you need. UP stairs is clothes. You also get a big kick out of the fertility shrines set up throughout.

The Canton Bazaar is an awesome place, it has a whole lot of beautiful furniture, jewelry, Knicks-knacks, clothing and memorabilia. Asian and CA in General too, mainly Bay Area based though. There's 2-3 floors, not sure if they're all always open, or if they switch on and off between ground/down and ground/up...? Everything seems very genuine, for a good price. The people wer very knowledgable about ALL of their merchandise, which is a lot. They also had a good idea of where else to go, it is their own little country inside a city.

LOVED this place. I think I spent an hour and a half looking at everything on all 3 levels. And they do have everything--jewelry, purses, dishwear, tea, chop sticks, statues, kimonos, slippers, furniture and much, much more. I bought a "happy coat" with matching slippers and a cute little bag that has a waterproof lining that I'll probably use for a make-up bag. The people who work here were very helpful and very friendly. I highly recommend coming here!!

I refer to this place as "my dealer" and not the illegal kind. I go there for their fabulicious (read: teenage hooker) selection of rhinestone tiaras, of which I've bought several over the years. What I do with them is my business, okay? They also have a nifty selection of pornographic little chinese statues way in the back. For a nondescript spot along tourist row in Chinatown, this place is a keeper.

Candy and Melody have an EXCELLENT customer service. Bought a necklace & earrings for my wedding & gave me good deal. They have lots of variety of goods on cheap prices.

Such a fun place to shop. The gals were very helpful in helping me decide what to get the grandkids and even chased me down after my purchase because they almost forgot my free gift with purchase. Yelp provided me with a coupon towards my total so what was not to love?

One Stop shopping Chinatownwise. Found an exquisite silk scarf with a rose pattern on it. Also some fans, incense and a lovely little red rhinestone hair clip. The store was clean and the sales staff knowledgeable. There is a fitting room to try on any number of items. They have to charge you $0.10 for a shopping bag but it is nice, cloth like and reusable.

This is my absolute favorite place to shop whenever I visit Chinatown. I know the quality of product I'm buying is decent & they always bring in different inventory so it's not always the same. They have stuff for kids, people who love yoga, dining items, living room items, clothing, jewelry and much more. I recommend this place if you're visiting China Town for the first time. It's decent quality, affordable & it's a very nice store with wonderful employees. However, their prices are a teensy (I mean $1-$5 difference) more than what else is in China Town. So if you're a bargin hunter, look around and keep in mind what you like. Overall, great store to purchase all sorts of knick knacks

They've got the best variety of Chinese souvenirs, home accessories, and many other interesting items in all price ranges. This isn't your "average" Chinatown shop, as you'll be able to find something to take home for sure. One area that was really appealing was their 2nd floor, where they have Asian Designer type clothing. They carried beautiful hand painted long and short silk kimonos, specially designed Asian influenced jackets, and other clothing that can't be found in other shops. It was worth the time I spent checking this shop out.

If you are a fan of Pusheen the cat, they have quite a bit of merchandise here. They also have some very cute bags with cats and owls on them. Lots of fun treasures. Decent quality.

Best place but I didn't see anything that interesting. The only item I wanted was a small oriental coin with characters on it. When I asked the clerk what it said he didn't know so I didn't get it.

I needed some colorful parasols for a project in our garden. They have very pretty and inexpensive ($6.95) paper parasols that come in a range of colors. Sharon helped me and she was so delightful. Went in first to get a "prototype" to take home to see if my idea would work. Then, went back and bought nine more parasols. Both times, Sharon was extremely helpful and the epitome of customer service. This time, i didn't need anything other than the parasols but I noticed a ton of stuff that i'd love to go back and see when I have time. All in all, I had a great experience and thank you Sharon for being so great!

This is across the street from Old Shanghai . This place sells pretty much the same type of stuff as Old Shanghai . This place doesn't sell furniture like Old Shanghai but it does have a lot of shiny jewelry ...

Got a necklace here for 45 but the store right across the street had the same one for 25. Not only did they not have a no return policy written down in the store. They did not vocally tell us we could not return the damn necklace. Just becareful about buying jewelry in this store. They're out to rip you off.
