The food is really good IMO. This is my 2nd time here. The service... not so much. Very cold waiters, not welcoming at all, very robotic- like the man who served us today. The first time we came in a large group after a burial and the lady helping us did not hide her annoyance. Both times have me made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a guest. Nothing too bad that will deter me from returning though... yet.

Fast, friendly service. Been coming here for years. Consistent, high quality food. Can do many dishes vegetarian. Can also make custom dishes upon request. Family & kid friendly.

We’ve been before and had a decent experience. Today’s experience was terrible. A huge group 40+ left and they obviously needed to clean up and reset. No problem — but no one took even a second to communicate anything to use. We were consistently ignored unless we went up directly to ask questions. An Asian woman came with 2 kids 5-10 mins after us and sorta perched herself in their vicinity while they cleaned up even though she was also told to wait. After waiting about 20-25 minutes, we were finally seated. The woman and her kids already had drinks by this time. We asked if we could at least get drink service. They finally came to us to ask about drinks — but after bringing the woman and her kids a plate of hot food and telling us “they’d be back.” This was our breaking point. It’d been 40 minutes of being not only ignored but skipped and we were hungry and frustrated. We told her we’d instead be leaving. So disappointed with today’s experience because just small acknowledgments would’ve made this a very different experience. Props to the woman behind us for getting what she wanted though lol.

I like the Buddha delight. I always order this with other plates. Ordered wor won ton. This is another of my prefer plates in here. Ordered the combination chow mein, which only had one shrimp, and black mushroom with bitter melon… they can change some vegetables for another if you ask them. The Chinese style food is always recognizable for its distinctive Cantonese flavor

We came here to celebrate mother’s days. Their food is very good. Service is a hit or miss. Their portions are getting a little bit smaller but the food is still very good. We usually order: shrimp with walnut, Crispy fried Chicken with Shrimp Chips, peasprouts & garlic, sweet and sour fish, broccoli mushroom and beef (yummy), and a claypot with eggplant. I would definitely come back .

Beef on both dishes were tender and not chewy. This was the ultimate test for me so it passed. Mongolian beef was a bit salty though. Overall a good deal as they have good portions but I was hoping to get some dim sum. They didn’t seem interested to serve it as it takes time to prepare.

This location has changed owners through the years. I remember coming here during its "Tea Tree" era in the late 80s if I recall. Now it's called Canton. I unintentionally brought my family here for Mother's Day dinner. I called in the reservation a few days ahead. Mind you, originally I had thought I was calling the location at Top of the Hill at 6356 Mission Street, called Pacific Restaurant. It's good I went in there to check. A lady told me that location only offers to-go meals (even though there are still tables and chairs everywhere), and I was directed to call/go to Canton on 90th street. Lesson learned, Mother's Day crisis averted. On to the dinner. Once seated, it took a while for the servers to come to our table. While I would've appreciated more attentive service, I had to remind myself this isn't a high-end fancy michelin star spot. We're here to just grub and go. So once our orders were in, it took another 30m for them to start serving us. They had also forgotten to bring out a drink order and did not ask if we wanted water. We had to make do with tea, or risk taking another long while for them to check on us, do other things, and then come back again after another long stretch. TL;DR, lower your expectations if you choose to come here and you'll avoid being disappointed. It is what it is. Other reviews seem to say it's solid here.

I almost don’t want to share this because it’s SUCH a gem! No wait for weekend dimsum. Super fresh and steamed only after you order it. Plenty of seating, clean, good service and delicious food. The must orders are the shu mai, shrimp dumpling, BBQ pork buns, and sticky rice. The salted egg yolk pumpkin fries are to die for…we ordered multiple in the end!! They were able to accommodate and had plenty of vegetarian options. We ordered the four season string beans and mapo tofu for large dishes (both we requested without pork) and veggie dumpling dimsum. The seating is comfortable - plenty of space between the tables; with big bright windows. Great for big groups. Oh…did I mention there’s PLENTY of parking right here in the parking lot?!

Yelp
First off, there's a lot that I didn't know about this restaurant. I didn't know this was the same owner of the Canton on Folsom St that closed during covid. I also didn't know this place has been around for 7 yrs and I've never heard about it since I keep up with Chinese Restaurants on the peninsula. The area this place is located is very well hidden!! If you're looking for very authentic Chinese food then this is the place to go. Food is way better than Panda Express. You won't get service as if you're dining at PF Chang's. You will wait for a table and be ignored until they are ready to help you. And if you believe in the motto: The Customer Is Always Right then this place isn't for you. This is a typical Chinese Restaurant which means not so clean bathrooms, poor or plain ambience and slow and/or rude service. If you accept all these terms then you will be satisfied. The reason for the 4 stars is pricing. I know everything has gone up in pricing since covid but for Chinese food, it's a bit high! A little known fact is Chinese food is very cheap to make and yields high profits. This place isn't as high as Koi Place or those places in Millbrae but it is still high. Dined here with a party of 10. Half adults and half kids. Ordered individual dishes and rice. It was just enough food. Bill came out to about $350 with 18% tip tacked on. No sodas or alcoholic beverages. Again, a bit high in price but food was good. Service wasn't bad at all since it was a slow Saturday evening. Restaurant was half empty. We will be back to try the dim sum..............

Yelp
Delicious CANTONESE dim sum and family dinner dishes ! Old school generational family business with live seafood tank. Service is friendly and ambiance is clean and well lit. definitely plan to have a wonderful old school family dinner when you stop by here. JYW highly recommends !

Yelp
Good food at a reasonable price. Nice sized portions so 12 orders was enough for 16 people with a little leftover.

Yelp
3.5 STARS Date: Sunday, April 16th, 2023 Time: 12pm Meal: Lunch Occasion: Red Egg & Ginger Banquet *Egg Rolls *Seafood Tofu Soup *Walnut Prawns *Crispy Fried Chicken with Shrimp Chips *Yang Chow Fried Rice *Mongolian Beef? *Sweet and Sour Pork *Salt and Pepper Pork Chops *Greens with Mushrooms I was invited to a red egg and ginger party here for one of my close friends. I'm not sure if the menu was part of a set banquet one or if they just ordered each dish individually. But we got the items above for our table of 8-10. Not everyone showed up, so there was plenty of food to go around. The menu was standard and filling for a lunch. I adore salt and pepper pork chops, so I enjoyed these. Savory and crispy. I don't see the crispy chicken much anymore, so it was nice having this. (My fam used to order it all the time when we were little.) Gotta love those shrimp chips too! I'm a soup and veggie girl, so if course I was happy to have both. The soup was a touch under seasoned but nothing a little salt and white pepper couldn't fix. The veggies were tasty. Gotta have my greens. We had a fair amount of tables, so couldn't fit in one room. But the restaurant is modest in size, so it was easy to roam around and talk to people. Solid spot for standard Chinese food. REVIEW #3606

Yelp
Not our first time eating at Canton. We were looking for a place half way from San Francisco and the south that we could sit and not be rushed out so we meet at Canton. They have a parking lot which is a plus but parking is not that hard to find in this location. I haven't eaten here in over two years. Walked in at 6pm and there was no one inside but looked like they had to go orders sitting on the counter for pick up. Six of us and each picked a dish to order. We had a variety. Food was decent, prices and portions were okay. At first I felt the waitress was unfriendly but she warmed up afterwards and a few more families came in to eat. We ended up with seven dishes. They have very good chicken wings. We were able to sit until they were ready to close up so about 8:30 they said they were getting ready to clean up. They packed our leftovers and overall the restaurant is okay for what it is.

Yelp
Amazing service on 01/17/25 for a party of 25. Elaine was exceptional. She was patient, efficient, and very helpful with the menu. This place is our go-to for Chinese food. Not just for location, but because of the good food! So good we forgot to take a pic of what we ate! Thank you for taking great care of us.

Yelp
Sampled this restaurant since I had to run errands in the area during lunch, this spot has always historically been a chinese restaurant, everytime one closes down another family rolls and and tries to roll their dice, it has always been just good not anything amazing, I was able to sample two items on there menu during lunch, my go to dish is and will always be salt and pepper pork chop preferred with fried rice but open to white rice. There dish was heavy the fried rice seems a bit light, the salt and pepper pork was more meat then bones which is preferred, if you get more bones in your meat then actual meat your wasting your time lol. The food again was decent, piping hot, flavorful and quick The dim sum i did sample the shu mai sadly i will have to pass on dim sum next time, it did not taste freshly made If your with a group definitely sample more of the dim sum there are several options, if your by yourself stick with the lunch plates Food *** decent, lightly flavored fried rice Price $$ Service *** Ambiance ***

Yelp
I don't know why I continue to be surprised by reviews that the unfussy "real" Chinese restaurants get from customers expecting Panda Express authenticity, doting service, and military precision. They'd be a lot happier waiting an hour in line for PF Chang's. If you are culturally aware, and understand that your dining experience at this type of establishment might involve brusque service, a separate menu you may not be offered because most people who look like you would probably say, "Ew!" or "I don't know what half is this crap is!", and a bit of disorganization (maybe you get your soup after the rice arrives), then you will be very happy with Canton. Their food is solid, consistent, and very Cantonese with a few Americanized abominations (walnut shrimp, sweet and sour pork, etc) thrown in to keep the masses happy. I ate my most recent meal--the scrambled eggs with shrimp lunch special) a little too fast to photograph anything but rice, but trust me--it was a nice-sized portion and it was very good. My server was exceptionally attentive! She filled my water glass three times, did not rush me as a solo diner, and offered a box before I asked for one. Other things I like to order here are egg foo yung, pork & preserved vegetable soup, and prawns with lobster sauce. (Yes, I'm a bit of a Chinese food snob, but I do acknowledge my taste for dishes with somewhat questionable authenticity.) It's difficult to find good Cantonese food around here. If you're in the mood for it, relax, go with the flow, and enjoy your deliciously imperfect experience.

Yelp
Nice Cantonese restaurant serving dim sum, mid week lunch rice plates, and common Cantonese dishes like Lobster, Crab, Shrimp with Walnuts, Chow Fun and Chow Fan. We went on a quiet weekday and the front room was packed. The rear room is open on weekends for larger dim sum crowds or for banquets. Wheelchair access is available through the rear room as there are steps at the main entrance. We had: - Dim Sum (Siu Mai, Pork Riblets, Chicken Feet, and Salt & Pepper Eggplant). First time having Salt & Pepper Eggplant ever! So rare and we liked it! All of the dim sum came out hot from the kitchen. - Singapore Rice Noodles - Canton Restaurant makes a drier version with more curry spice than other restaurants. We like our Singapore noodles wetter but this was ok, just different. - Beef Stew and Tendons in a Clay Pot, moist beef stew with a good amount of soft tendons. Also has Foo Jook in the clay pot. Service was very good, tea constantly filled, servers fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and leftovers packed on your behalf. Many places just hand you a box... Overall, we'll go back. Parking lot is always a plus!

Yelp
This was the place chosen by my Aunt's family after honoring her at her funeral service. Some call this gathering the Longevity Meal. It's what we Chinese-Americans have after every such service. The food is often chosen from the banquet menu. Both my sister and I, who are very picky when it comes to Chinese food after decades of both willing and unwilling sampling, were surprised by how good the quality of the food was for an establishment neck-deep in a relatively suburban, non-Chinatown neighborhood. But I must say this was not a standard meal, so I don't know if they upped their game for the occasion. I will then say it's a good spot for banquet-level fare. I'm winging what we had since everything was pre-ordered, and I didn't see the menu. -Cold plate sampler: The bbq pork was sweet and tender. -Fish filet: Possibly braised cod with string beans and mushrooms. Good infusion of wok flavor. -Walnut shrimp: A different take in that it was deeper fried and less sweet, but still tasty. -Peking spareribs: Sweet and tender, though pieces were a little big to handle with chop sticks. -Braised Tofu: Surprisingly hearty and well-sauced. -Corn soup: Was lukewarm and somewhat bland. -Steamed chicken: Fresh but slightly tough. Could've been enhanced with the typical ginger-scallion-oil sauce, which surprisingly was absent. The service was just ok. We had four tables and were the only guests in the restaurant. Yet, our two servers weren't always attuned to what we needed. The restaurant is on the smaller side. They do have a dedicated parking lot, but it's also smaller than average. I took no pictures because it didn't seem appropriate for the occasion.

Yelp
Third time coming to Canton. And third time I leave super happy. As always the place is clean and the servers are super nice and always ready to answer any question. Today I have a wonton soup again. It's amazing how a super simple soup can have so much flavor. The broth is amazing and you can taste each piece of vegetable. The wontons are superb. I asked the server about the foo yung. To me is a new Chinese dish. He describe it and it make sense after doing a heavy workout. It's a full protein meal loaded with flavor and textures. I had it with pork and was amazing. Both dishes are enough for two people for sure. But I am so happy to have leftovers for tomorrow. Canton is a really gem in Daly City in my opinion.

Yelp
I came here with 8 coworkers for a weekday lunch. It's a bit hidden, situated behind a real estate office. Canton does have its own parking lot. We had: prawns in lobster sauce, combination fried rice, sizzling sea bass w/ginger scallions, crispy fried chicken, and spicy eggplant with garlic and basil. The star of the lunch was the prawns in lobster sauce. The sauce was flavorful without being overly salty. They were pretty generous with the amount of prawns. We originally ordered 2, but had to order 2 more plates due to their popularity. We also had the honey walnut prawns, which were good. The sizzling sea bass was also a hit. The breading and the fish were both very light. The eggplant was billed as spicy, and it lived up to the billing and then some. The fried chicken was fine. The combo fried rice was really good: good amount of meats, not oily, and the rice wasn't clumpy. The service was nice. The dining room was warm (it was a hot day and it doesn't seem like they have a/c). We had a great time. I will be back.

Yelp
Anyone who works in this area knows that we don't have a lot of quick options to choose from... while yes, there are some restaurants near by, and a couple of fast food joints... this has been a staple of my office... BACK in the day.. they used to have all you can eat options.. those don't seem to survive... RIP Kome.... But the lack of options doesn't mean that we will settle for something subpar... Canton's lunch specials are a great quick go-to for a food... Serving size is perfect as it could either be 1 big meal, or 2 ok meals. Staff have been there foreeeever, and that's not a bad thing... they are fast and friendly... My go-to for food rotation are the Mongolian chicken lunch special, wonton soup, and the salted egg pumpkin My ratings here are for lunch... I don't know how they do during dinner... maybe the 5th star can come or not after I try their dinner service

Yelp
Stood there and the waitress walked by me 3 times ignoring. Asked for an extra pot of tea due to the large number of guests at the table. Was told just use one and she would refill. You guessed it, she did not refill it. Barely came to the table to check on us. Had to stand up and go walk to her to ask for napkins. Waitress and waiters have bad attitude. Price is high and food is average at best. I'm surprised this place is still in business. Will never be back again. Let my bad experience be your guide.

Susan S.

Yelp
Truly awful. Soup Luke warm. Food not cooked correctly. Will never go back zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
google avatar

Yelp
Food was pretty good, but service was unfortunately not. The place was only about 1/3 full but it was almost impossible to get the attention of either of the two waiters who were around. We had to go up to one of them to ask for the check, and he didn't even acknowledge our question, and instead just turned around and kept doing what he was doing and gave a check to another table. After waiting for a few minutes with no acknowledgement that he had even heard our question, we had to go up to ask the second waiter. I can't imagine how bad the service might be if they were actually full or busy.

Yelp
The eight of us came for lunch after a game of golf in Pacifica. Six of the eight ordered family style, while hubby and I ordered a la carte. Hubby got the combination chow fun and I ordered the three items chow mein. Hubby's dish had lots of bean sprouts. Forgot to say hold the bean sprouts. My three items chow mein was reminiscent of old school chow mein found in restaurants in Chinatown back in the day. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. I recall having bbq pork before. Not in this one. It was marinated pork and chicken. Not sure what the third item should have been. The dish was way too salty. I ate 1/2. The next day I soaked the other 1/2 to reduce the saltiness. Now it was too bland. I'd avoid this dish if I were you. We saw a steamer basket of dim sum go by. Will need to try some if we come back. Service was efficient. Tea pot refilled. For $20 per dish including tax & tip it was just o.k. There's a parking lot on premises, and street parking.

Yelp
This review is long overdue. I've eaten here probably 5x and taken food to go at least 20 other times! Really a local favorite for really good Chinese food. They make everything really well here, whether it is American Chinese food or more traditional dishes. Their dinner sets have a good variety and the portions are pretty nice. My family really enjoys their salted fish and chicken fried rice. They don't skimp on the salted fish, so the flavor is amazing. Their chicken and green beans is a crowd pleaser plus you get the veggies! Their beef chow fun, both wet and dry, is really good, too. Clay pots are all good, tofu dishes for the vegetarians are delicious, and peking duck is great! Don't sleep on the salt and pepper fried chicken (or pork chops)! Take a look at their menu, try some of your favorites, but also try some of the items you might not find at other restaurants. The only thing that has been kind of a miss here was their westlake beef soup. Just not as flavorful as I'd like. Other soups have been nice though!

Yelp
This place is good, portions are decent and prices are a little bit above average. We ordered maybe 8 dishes, almost around $200 worth for take out. When we asked if we could have chili, she said it would cost $1 extra. I feel like since we spent so much, they could have let us have one chili with our order. Decided not to give them the tip we were planning on giving and left without the chili.

Yelp
My only complaint is that I was staying next door at the Hampton Inn for a week and the desk person didn't tell me about this place til the last night. Divine food. The salt and pepper oysters are light and delicate and perfectly seasoned and accompanied with peppers. The fish maw is subtle and filling. Some of the best Cantonese food I've ever eaten. The room is simple and sparse. The service is "reserved" but not rude by any means (some of these other reviewers apparently need to be fawned over when they eat). I will be back.
google avatar

Jennifer ..

Yelp
Chow mein and potstickers were both really good. The sesame chicken however was not as expected. Very saucy and tasted more like BBQ sauce than anything else. The music was fun and they had the 9er game playing so that was good and it was walking distance from our hotel. Service was good.
google avatar

Arlene C.

Yelp
One of the few Cantonese style restaurants left, especially ones that can accommodate with banquets. They have a private room in the back. Our group of 6-8 like to come here since good Chinese restaurants are hard to find. Parking lot in the back makes it convenient. They make all the classics, and whatever you don't see on the menu, you can ask for.

Ian W.

Yelp
Family friendly, clean and amazing food. I've been searching for a Chinese restaurant like this for 10 years and finally found it! Recommended dishes: beef filet with egg tofu, braised fish with veggies and the crab (seasonal).

Gene P.

Yelp
I tried this place last time! And they actually had it done right for all the Chinese restaurants in Daly City. All of the dishes are ok ,sometimes not enough meat it's more rice than meat.customer service are very polite and respectful sometimes .prices is affordable with economic growth.keep up the good work Canton!!

Yelp
WOOW. The food is good, but some of their dishes are heavily seasoned. Have you ever had one of those nights, where you wake up in the middle of the night because you feel very thirsty? That was me and I needed to go to the bathroom x amount of times throughout the night. It's also been awhile since I ate so many bowls of rice! The soup was good tho! The lettuce wrap-it-yourself was delicious too. Out of lettuce wrap? Ask nicely for more or mix it with rice! The satay beef (or was it chicken?) was very savory. Each bite, I needed some rice. Or else, it'll taste too savory for me. The service is okay. It was kind of hard to flag someone down since there were only 2 people attending 7 tables, while taking phone orders for to-go.

Yelp
Medium size restaurant with family cooking. $$ for the excellent food. Quiet neighborhood next to Hampton Inn. Will try the dim sum next. Great service

Yelp
Mixed review. Easy enough to make a big group reservation over the phone for a big party. Banquet menu was a good selection. Great food but service was not great. Asked for 2 extra chairs for last minute guests and server didn't look happy about it. Note: there were no other guests in the restaurant at that time. Then asked for water up front and only one table and half of the second table received their water. Food came quick and no complaints about quality of food. Asked for water multiple times and finally received one glass at the end of our meal. Thank God there was tea otherwise I would've stayed parched. I actually contemplated going to car to get my water bottle! Bottom line: Order take out to avoid the horrible service, bring your own water or just go if you don't care about service and want good Chinese food.
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
This is the same canton dim sum that used to be in San Francisco. They no longer do dim sum by carts but you can order it off a menu. Food was delicious, but service was horrible. If I eat there again I will most likely have it to go.

Yelp
We frequent this restaurant once or twice every other month with my in-law's Chinese family. We love it here. The vibe is definitely old school, the decor is dated, but the food is excellent and service is great! (Unless they get busy) The highlight of the menu IMO is: -Lobster Fly Noodles -Filet Mignon w/ Egg tofu - This is one of my favorites here soooo good -Salt & Pepper Pork - *Chefs kiss* -Fried Rice -Walnut Shrimp - Nice balanced taste. Not too Mayoy, and not too sweet. -Peasprouts & Garlic I'm certain there are many items that would satisfy any pallet, but ya know, "stick with what you know," mentality generally works out. I'm giving it a 5 star, but it deserved the highly coveted "3.5 Star" review for Asian restaurants. (IYKYK!!)

Yelp
This Chinese restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in Daly City/Broadmoor and extremely underrated. Ever since I moved here, this has become my go to Chinese spot. From what my wife told me, this place has been here for 10+ years, and she was the one who recommended me to this restaurant. Our staple dishes are: Scrambled Egg With Shrimp Chow Fun Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs Honey Walnut Prawn Yang zhou fried rice We have tried other dishes from there too, and they were also solid. The Scrambled Egg with Shrimp Chow Fun is one of my favorite dishes from there. I have tried it at other restaurants, but nothing beats Canton. This is a must try, and highly recommended Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs are nicely fried and very well seasoned. It was still crispy after a 10 minute drive home. Honey Walnut Prawn has a good balance of sauce and batter. I don't know what prawn they use, but it is super springy and flavorful. Parking: they have a small lot in the front but during peak hours you may have to use street parking.

Yelp
The food is fresh and tasty. Great service and friendly staff make this a wonderful Chinese restaurant.

Yelp
Ambiance: Small place, can get loud, not fancy looking Food: Okay, not particularly outstanding. Also not a lot of options Service: non existent. We waited for over 30 minutes to try to get more tea and couldn't get a hold of someone. We then had to physically get up and bring the tea pot over to get some tea... Then comes time to pay, and again 30 minutes without anyone making eye contact... We walk up and directly ask for the check and togo boxes...then another 20 minutes go by and they are back with the check...like at one point I wanted to just get up and leave cause we already asked to pay and no one cared. We had to go up personally and ask a second time. Ridiculous and will not be back And btw it wasn't like it was a communication issue as we spoke Chinese

Yelp
My girlfriend and I love this place! We stay at the hotel across the street abd order here very frequently and every single time they come through! On one occasion I ordered this dish- ma pao tofu and my girlfriend is a vegan and I forgot to specifically say veggie ma pao. I went in and told them what happened and they made a fresh dish no charge! Customer service- 5/5 Quality of food 5/5 Taste 6/5 Hidden gem in Daly City, CA

Yelp
Didn't see a dim sum menu or items on the menu we received. Was ok. Got 2 dishes for 2 people, finished it all with no leftovers~ meaning, portion-size was so-so. Good thing was, it was tasty enough to not add additional seasoning, like soy sauce. Steady take out & diners. Not much greeting, and no 'thank you'~ so, not rude, but not the friendliest, service-wise.

Yelp
This is one oglf the last locations for this franchise... IMO, it is a very affordable spot for quality dimsum, and of course, other Chinese specialty foods... I've seen over the years that businesses change, and imo this one is the best out of the lot... good for lunch and dinner! I love their suimai and chicken feet here! Beat beef tofu! My grandma and mom love the fish fried rice! And yeah, the crispy chicken here is fire! Definitely, I recommend! BtW IMO the best Egg-FU-Young in Daly City!

Yelp
For decades, this used to be the Tea Tree Restaurant, which was my family's go-to for neighborhood Chinese food. When I moved back up here after several years in San Jose, I was happily surprised to find this was now a Canton Restaurant just like the great original Dim Sum place on Folsom across the street from where I used to work (Macys.Com) back in the day. The food is still just as good as Tea Tree, and their Three Ingredient Chow Mein absolutely knocks it out of the park! Alas, I agree with Rich D.'s assessment about the younger male staff member. No matter now nice I try to be, he's perpetually ornery. This REALLY detracts from my experience. Now I won't go in there to eat anymore and will only order take out if I'm forced to. :-(

Yelp
A friend recommended their crispy skin Peking duck. It is to be ordered 24 hours in advance. So, he helped making the advance order 2-3 days before our visit. While he was at it, he also helped placing an order for their clay pot rice with preserved meat as it needed a long time to prepare. The restaurant has limited parking and street parking is hard to come by. So, plan accordingly (might have to walk a few blocks away). Besides the pre-ordered dishes, we also ordered walnut prawn, stir fry peapod, combination fried rice, beef with broccoli, boiled chicken with garlic and ginger sauce, and beef chow fun. The star was the Peking duck. The skin was very crispy, the meat was juicy and flavorful. It was heavenly to wrap them in a soft bao with fresh scallions and oyster sause. The clay pot rice was good. But, it took so long for them to make it even though we had pre-ordered. It came out when all of us were quite full. It definitely affected our opinion on the dish. All the other dishes were good but did not warrant a special trip of over an hour drive. When in the area though, will check them out again.

Yelp
I took my family to eat Peking Duck and was so disappointed. Peking Duck was very dry and hard. It seems like it was not cooked fresh daily as it claims to be. I ordered Beef Chow Fun dry, Ha Gao, Sui Mai, and Honey Walnut Prawn as well. All these other dishes were fresh. We got there early so parking was plentiful. Only 1 server at the time we arrived. I have eaten there several times prior ordering same food and everything was fresh. I know better now to not order the Peking Duck on my next visit.

Yelp
Ate here again. We tried different entrees. Chicken wings were excellent. Thai rice noodles average. Spicy tofu claypot was very good, too much mixed peas and carrots in claypot. Salt and pepper pork chops were average and did not seem hot. Soup fish maw was very good, serves 4 easily. Service was a little slow. Stingy on the one napkin provided. Restaurant a little empty, just two tables in restaurant. No ambiance, but I like less noise than the usually noisy Chinese restaurants.

Yelp
This place consistently has great dishes consistently. From their Country style pan fried noodles to the hot & sour soup. Everything I've ordered has always been pretty decent to really tasty dishes. So far, our go-to dishes are their orange chicken (better than their lemon chicken after the waitress made that inside recommendation), dry braised string bean w/pork, West Lake Beef Soup, Hot & Sour Soup, & Honey Walnut Prawns. I recently had their whole deep fried flounder & it was fantastic! The black mushroom w/mustard greens, country style pan fried noodles, General Tao's Chicken and Mongolian beef was good too...definitely will order these again. Tried the Chef's curry chicken, but it was just ok. Of the six times or so we've gone here, it wasn't busy, so food came out quickly, within 20 minutes of ordering from the table. However, we went one Friday night, and it was busy, but we got a table. We ordered five items, three of which came out within 20 minutes, but then they totally forgot the other two dishes. This was the only time service was poor, but I'll right it off as a "busy one time thing". Food is good enough to forgive this misstep. The place is clean, with their own decent parking lot. Even on a busy Friday night, there is adequate street parking if their lot is full. The two female servers were nice & willing to make suggestions, but the male server has minimal people skills. Is it the best Chinese food I've had? No. That said, compared to anything in Daly City still in business, and I'm a SF/DC native, this is definitely the best Chinese joint overall menu wise so far with more than five dishes I deemed pretty good from soup to main entrees...add the easy parking, clean facilities & decent prices, this place deserves at least 4 stars. Now if the all the servers upped their serving game, I think they'd have happier clientele. They need to be better at checking on all the tables to make sure customers need more tea & water, and that all orders have been fulfilled when the restaurant is busy. Otherwise, I recommend coming here in the mid afternoon or lunch, because busy dinner hours on a Friday night seems to be beyond their servers' ability to give excellent service. It's a good thing I like their food better than other places, so I'll still come back...but this is definitely an area they could improve upon.
