Canyon Ridge Lodge is located on the outskirts of Golden near the Skybridge. It is about 30 minutes from the heart of Yoho and about 60 minutes from the heart of Banff National Parks. We stayed in the suite, which was incredibly spacious and well equipped. It had just about everything and more including a full kitchen, grill, and washer/dryer. The owners are quite friendly and helpful. I would say there were two things to note in an otherwise great stay. One is the location. It did start to wear on me the distance to get into the parks to access the trails. While it is no fault of the property, I'd probably look to stay somewhere a little more central. Although that can be quite hard to do depending on availability. The one upside to this is that we drove down through Kootenay and up to Golden one day, making for a very nice loop. The second note is that the room gets quite warm on hot days. I'm assuming the second floor gets a bit warmer, which is where the suite is located. There is a portable AC unit in the room, however the exhaust was not secured to the wall. This caused issues where the exhaust tube would often pop out of the wall, dumping hot air back into the room. We woke up one night hot as heck because the tube popped out and heated the suite rather than cooled. We eventually pinned the unit against the tube to kind of hold it in place, but it was far from ideal. If they get that fixed, there would not be any negative notes on the unit itself. Overall, a positive stay.
