The owner, Gilly and her team, Sara & Tomaso, have made our first visit to port Douglas so very memorable! We returned 4 nights in a row (👀)- not only because the gelato was fresh, silky and absolutely TOP quality, but also because of their incredibly welcoming service that isn’t so easy to come across nowadays. Excellent in every way!!

Well if you want to find something decadent after a nice meal out in Macrossan Street, Port Douglas. Apart from the smiling service, the calories aside, the dessert was a diabetic’s dream/nightmare. So a decision of Carrot cake (homemade) with caramel and chocolate gelato, spiked the insulin enough for me to run a marathon. Well worth it though - a must visit for the dessertaholics.

I had the most incredible dessert of my life here. A white chocolate and banana mousse that I will remember forever. Fantastic service and beautiful presentation. This place should have a line out the door! Absolutely phenomenal! If you’re in the area, it’s an absolute MUST! Wish I had discovered it earlier on in our stay.

Absolutely delicious! Blink and you’ll miss it - hands down the best gelato icecream in Port Douglas. So much creamier and tastier than the others in town, served by genuinely kind staff. While a smaller selection of flavours to choose from, the name of game here is quality over quantity.

We absolutely loved this place! My girlfriend and I visited Capannina every single night during our stay in Port Douglas. Best gelato, undoubtedly fresh and incredibly delicious. We tried various of their homemade desserts - not a single One disappointed!!! Thank you Gilly, Tomaso & Sara!

Great little spot for an afternoon treat! The sorbetti are delicious and made from local fruit. The owner is very hospitable. Plus, you can try the different flavours before ordering. Definitely worth a visit!

The gelato at Capannina is absolutely amazing! The coconut flavour is spectacular — super creamy, fresh, and full of real coconut taste. Definitely one of the best gelatos I’ve ever had in Australia. The staff were lovely too, and the place has such a nice, relaxed vibe. Totally worth a stop in Port Douglas! 🍦✨

This is a small and literal mom and pop shop in Main Street, Port Douglas. The flavors are above average, tasted natural yet not spectacular. Small businesses are great and we should always supper them and the gelato is top notch so please go visit. I tasted both Dragon fruit and Pineapple, the latter of which had more Flavor staying power and a longer finish. It's nothing quite like a five star level (Henry's in Oahu comes to mind, for example) but it's definitely still refreshing. You get two scoops for the price of one for a cone option, which is my recommendation. That's all.

Finally! After searching for so long, this little gem of an ice creamery sells Zabaglione! It tasted as good as I remember from years ago. They make all their ice cream and other desserts onsite, but the reason I ate was for the above reason. Mind you, their air conditioner was not the greatest inside. A treasure in Port Douglas for sure.

Oh my goodness! Totally love this place. Awesome stuff as well. There were many different flavors of gelato choose foods from as well as different decadent desserts. They are made fresh daily here at this location and they have quite a quaint shop. Very nicely decorated and very clean. Will definitely come back here often.

I always try to find a gelato place wherever I travel and this is one of the best gelato I've had. Super smooth and creamy. One of the most inventive flavors I had there was Zabaglione/ Marsala wine--amazing. I also had their dulce de leche and pistachio which are all great favorites. Their servings are generous and they make their gelato with local milk.

Best gelato and best service you can get!! Staff are AMAZING and the gelato is absolutely incredible. Wish I had of found this before my last day in Port Douglas!
