The 24 Best Things to Do in Madrid, Spain

"Spain’s only shop devoted exclusively to crafting traditional capes: each merino‑wool cape takes three to seven weeks to make, offered in classic and contemporary styles; historically noteworthy capes from this maker have been worn by famous artists and thinkers—Pablo Picasso was even buried in one." - Siobhan Reid Siobhan Reid Siobhan Reid is an NYC-based writer, editor, and copywriter. A one of a kind shop which sells only one garment. They do the 1901 which is the classic spanish cloak. They also do modern versions as well. I got very good service and have walked away with a lovely handmade product.

Capas Seseña was the motivation for me to travel to Madrid, following some research that recommended them. I only got my cape recently, so I cannot comment on its long-term performance, but everything seems very well made, as it should be. Thus I expect many years of use from my new cape. Where Capas Seseña was outstanding was their customer service. I first contacted them via email and then planned my visit. In the store itself (which is lovely) I was very well advised - with a high attention to detail (cape length, a longer cape was in stock that fits me perfectly). This also meant I got to buy my cape "on the spot", otherwise it would be possible to have it made and delivered. I received advice on how to correctly fold it, options of wearing it - anything one could wish to know. Wearing a cape is a style choice that I will be looking at developing for me now. In any case, my customer experience was great, which has me hoping that the company will be able to continue the production and sale of capes for many years to come.

If you are in Madrid, you must visit the only remaining store of its kind in the world. Exquisite custom hand made garments, assisted by its owner, a unique experience.

I dreamt of visiting this place after doing extensive reading and watching about the capes, and finally, I did. I obtained an amazing cape for myself. Their products are the best, and their customer service is impeccable. I'm now looking for a second one.
