Fascinating place and well worth the time. Terry was our host and he was a wealth of knowledge about mining operations, the mining lifestyle, the struggle to unionize, the struggles to survive. It's easy to see why the bonds between miners are so strong, since they literally have each other's back multiple times a day.
A full museum visit includes exhibits, a virtual tour into a mine, actually descending into a mine shaft with your guide, and memorials, some outdoors, to miners who have lost their lives on the job. There is also an adjacent restaurant that gets good reviews for its homestyle cooking. We enjoyed our visit very much. And learned a lot doing it!
