12 New Hotels in Greece Opening this Spring - AFAR

"Set in a pine-clad coastal spot between two beaches about a 45-minute drive south of Athens, this fully transformed resort pairs renovated rooms and new light-filled villas with pools and fresh dining options with spectacular clifftop views of the Temple of Poseidon. Guests can enjoy the scenery from an infinity pool that frames the ancient ruins, making the surroundings as much a draw as the resort’s upgraded accommodations and restaurants." - Nicola Chilton

We returned after 8 years from our first visit and we were very pleasantly surprised. First of all the location is sharming. Ok there is nothing much around in a short proximity, but if you want to just relax then this is the right place for you. Or you may visit Athens or go for some trip from Lavrio harbor if you wish to.|The bungalows are hidden in huge garden, you can easily reach yours walk paths, stairs or you may ask for buggy. To be honest the rooms are not after complete renovation and some parts same as 8 years ago (basin, bedside table, cabinets) but big benefit of changing bath tub for walkin shower. The room size is good.|For instance the iron bedside tables have sharp edges and the desing without a drawer is a bit impractical.|The selection in buffet restaurant was really good, selection of wines was great, and ala carte restaurants offers as well on very good level. I would appreciate to have an option of having just fish filet and not whole fish. |We do appreaciated enough sunlunges and umbrellas on beachside so you really needn´t to be worried of comming 11am and not having yours.|And although there were quite lots of kids and we travelled as couple, it was really not noisy. |We had two issues in the room with safe box and drain in shower and both solved very quickly so the maintainance really efficient. ||I would like to mention some team members that made a real impression for us. Namely Alexandros the Restaurant Manager and Panagiotis the Sommelier, you guys were exceptional and we really enjoyed our small talks; Mrs. Nicolleta from Panorama Lunge Bar is a right person for this business and she has always a brilliant overview about all guests in the bar; Marian and Agapi from the restaurant. |I also participated once on Pillates lesson and the fittness lady was great. I am sorry to not participated more offen. ||So we definitely come back and recomend this lovely place to our friends.|Have a great rest of the season.

One of the most breathtaking resorts in Greece! We return every year and somehow each stay manages to be even better than the last. This time, the hotel manager went above and beyond, upgrading us to a dreamy villa with a fantastic view to celebrate our wedding anniversary – an unforgettable gesture. Everything here is flawless: comfort, cleanliness, spacious design, stunning nature, delicious food, pristine beach, exclusivity, exceptional service and the added bonus of being so close to Athens. Truly our favorite getaway, and we can’t wait to return again and again!

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the service at Cape Sounio was nothing short of exceptional. Although our stay was only for two nights, it had the ease of a much longer holiday.||Special mention must go to Nikoletta in the lobby bar whose warmth, attentiveness and eye for detail truly shone. Equally, Sofia, who looked after us throughout our stay, was outstanding – nothing was ever too much trouble. She arranged everything seamlessly, from a late checkout for our friends to airport transfers, all with efficiency and grace. The level of personal care felt both genuine and faultless.||The hotel manager also made a lasting impression. His presence was felt in the best possible way, taking the time to check in on us personally, yet never in a way that felt overbearing. It was a thoughtful touch.||Dining at Yali, the hotel’s seafood restaurant, was a particular treat: an exceptional menu complemented by a wine list full of unexpected treasures. Every meal was a reminder that the dining here truly deserves its five-star reputation.||Having recently stayed at the One & Only, I can say without hesitation that the service at Cape Sounio stands head and shoulders above. Here, everything feels polished yet warm, creating a seamless experience that represents genuine value for money and true Greek hospitality. ||Cape Sounio is, quite simply, a place where service and setting combine effortlessly to create memories that linger far longer than the stay itself.

Very nice Resort, staff very welcoming, kind and ready to satisfy all the request.|Transfer services from/to airport and to Athens were perfect and comfortable.|The room (temple and sea view), scattered around the resort area, was clean, comfortable and with good room service done twice a day. |Breakfast and dinner buffets at Cape Sounio restaurant featured a great variety of good food and also the Greek wines at good price, offered by the kind, active and clever Mr.Christos, have been much appreciated.|The beach is very quiet, with each umbrella well spaced from the others, clean sea water. Water sports available on site.|The only shame is the view of the breakwater on the beach's right side: a pile of earth and stones that should definitely be fixed to integrate it better into the landscape that with the temple view is very nice.

Cape Sounio is located by the beach, with a privileged view of the Poseidon Temple.|It is definitely a luxury property and yet it is family oriented. Very well kept and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious but not really opulent nor decadent.|We arrived around 11 am and the room wasn't ready so we waited in the lobby having a drink and unwinding from the long flight.|As soon as the room was ready a member of the staff drove us on a golf cart to our room, we were welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco. The room had a terrace with a magnificent view to the Poseidon Temple. We just had to make the most of it so we got up one morning to watch the sunrise from there... beautiful!|The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of all sorts of food (pastries, cereals, smoked fish, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, fresh juices...). All that with a view to the sea and enjoying the nice breeze.|We ate at the restaurant by the pool for lunch 2 different days. Both times the experience was up to our expectations. Fresh ingredients, good cook, service was friendly and efficient.|The swimming pool was quite big but the water was very refreshing against the hot weather.|The beach was relaxing, clean and the lounge chairs comfortable.|At night we went to the lobby bar for a drink and was pleasantly surprised by live music. Some nights a week they have a live band singing covers.|The restaurant Yali by the beach was excellent! When we checked in we were told we didn't need reservations for lunch. We showed up the first day and it was all booked so we learned our lesson and book a table for dinner. The ambience was relaxing and casual but the view to the Temple made it majestic. We were there by sunset and the empty beach provided an extra layer of serenity. The food was delicious, i would definitely go back to the hotel just to eat there again.|Nothing can be perfect and this place wasn't the exemption. At check out their systems were "down" so they just wanted me to pay the total they gave me without itemizing it. I refused and they offered to email me the itemized bill as soon as their system got back up and running and a link to make the payment if i agreed to the charges, which i did.|There's not much to do or see in that area except the sea and the Poseidon Temple but if you're around i do recommend staying there.

We have been in this resort for a spontaneous vacation and it was perfect for what we were looking for. |A nice relaxing resort with good rooms, food, friendly personal… .||Something outstanding was the Jeep Experience we did. |We saw ancient sites as well as very beautiful panoramic views. |That is definitely something to recommend.

Superb! We are a family of 4 and stayed in connecting rooms with a view of the Temple. The rooms and beds are comfortable and quiet. Our hostess at arrival, Artemis, was exceptional. She offered us drinks, introduced us to the resort, and booked transportation to see the sunset at the Temple of Poseidon (35 Euros and the driver waits for 1 hour). Our daughters enjoyed time at the pool and raved about the service. The food was excellent. Every aspect of the stay was perfect, and pictures do not do justice to the view!

This place was a perfect 10 out of 10. A rarity that I had never given to any place that I’ve ever stayed. Their customer service was exceptional. The rooms were great prices for the experience that we got out of stay. My only regret is that we didn’t stay here longer. But, will definitely be coming back and staying much longer next time. The rooms and area are stunning. 5 minute walk to the beach. About a 10 minute drive to the Temple of Poseidon which is highly recommended for sunset. They also arranged transportation to and from the temple. Super friendly and always greeted with a smile. I’ve traveled to many places and the customer service is top tier! It elevated our experience in Greece and our expectations for anywhere else. I did have a better review written. But, when I went to upload the photos of our stay, the page refreshed and lost everything I had originally written. I can’t wait to visit this place again and for longer. My partner & I are still shocked at how amazing it was.
